Download IIT JEE 2013 New Pattern Following are the highlights of the new IIT JEE 2012-13 Pattern: Two Exams JEE Mains followed by JEE Advance Time gap between these two exams will be two to three weeks. JEE Main which is equivalent to AIEEE and will be conducted by CBSE, JAB and JIC will also support in this. JEE Advance which is equivalent to IIT JEE will be conducted by IITs (JAB and JI C); with the same composition as at present Only top 1,50,000 students including all categories from JEE Main will be able t o appear in JEE Advance Students who come in top 20 percentile in their board can only give the exams. Admissions to IITs will be based only on category wise All India Rank (AIR) in J EE ADVANCED Admission in other deemed universities who take admission on the basis of AIEEE will be based on JEE Main exam. Min %age criteria will be fixed for these too. IIT JEE 2013 Selection As per the new format, the top 1, 50,000 students (inclusive of all categories) from IIT JEE Main will be allowed to take the IIT JEE Advance paper. The top 20 percentile of board candidates can appear for the exams. IIT JEE 2013 Admission

Admissions to the various courses will be based on AIR (All India Rank) in IIT J EE ADVANCED. Universities which accept admission on the basis of AIEEE will be g ranted as per the JEE Main score. The criteria for the minimum percentage for th ese two exams are yet to be decided. IIT JEE 2013 - Counselling The Counselling and allotment of seats for IITs may be jointly held with NITs. However, latest updates reveal a few IIT faculties do not wish to change the cur rent IIT JEE pattern.

Boards to announce list of top 20% percentile students in a week

NEW DELHI: School Boards across the country on Thursday decided to make availabl e the percentile of top 20 candidates within seven days to help students get a c lear picture of the marks required to be eligible for IIT entrance. Reaching a compromise formula, the IIT council had on Wednesday announced that a dmission to IITs from 2013 would be based only on rank achieved in the advance t est and selected candidates would be in the top 20 percentile of successful ones of their boards. The representatives of the school Boards assembled here on Thursday for the Coun cil of Boards of School Education (COBSE) meet, an apex body of all the boards, councils of secondary, senior education in the country. "It was decided that the equivalent percentage of marks for top 20 percentile st udents would be available (within 7 to 10 days) to students so that they are abl e to know the percentage of marks that will make them eligible for IIT Entrance, " said a statement after the meeting. The meeting was called to discuss operational issues arising out of the decision by the IIT Council. In all, 20 of 29 boards' chairpersons and representatives were present during wh ich they "wholeheartedly supported the idea of giving weightage to the Boards Ex aminations' Results and were of the view that this will definitely strengthen th e school education," the statement added. To ensure the new format functions smoothly, the boards decided to declare their results before June 10 and will complete the revaluation work within June 30 of the year. IIT JEE (Advanced) 2013 will have objective questions The Joint admission board (JAB) has put all the speculation to an end. It has cl arified that the format of (JEE)-Advanced paper will be the same as that of IITJEE in the last few years. On 14th August, The ministry for human resource development (MHRD) issued a noti fication on JEE-2013 for admissions. JEE-Advanced will be held on June 2. The JEE-Advanced paper will only have multi ple-choice questions which the students will attempt in two sessions, morning an d afternoon. The difficulty level of and the marks allotted to JEE-Advanced test s will be similar to that of previous JEEs. However, the notification is just fo r 2013.
