RAIL MOUNTING SYSTEMS

MHE-Demag is a specialist of crane rail systems. The products are designed to reduce fatigue and noise levels associated with heavy-duty cranes running on rails.
Lateral Adjustments

The basic concept of crane rail system

Crane rails are commonly joined from end to end forming a track. The rails are kept aligned and fastened by clips. Adjustable clip Upper Clip and resilient pad allow rail tilt and Base Clip thereby reduce stress built-up in the rail. As a result, they minimise Grout wear and tear of rails and crane wheels. To transfer and distribute heavy wheel loads to concrete beams and decks, heavy steel plates, known as soleplates, are levelled and integrated as rail support with high strength non-shrink grout as ller.

These are placed between the soleplates and underside of crane rails. They reduce noise and minimise the dimensions of vibration into the system as well as prevent corrosion due to the contact between metals.

Rails
They are used to guide the cranes. For special applications such as accommodating high wheel loads of about 100t per wheel (down force), special crane rails with head width of up to 150mm and tensile strength of up to 880N/mm2 are available. Examples are A-rails (Germany) and CR-rails (Japan).

Adjustable clips
The clips are designed such that they allow precise alignment of crane rails. In addition, rubber noses apply controlled forces to the rails and restrain excessive rail movement, thereby minimising crane wheel wear and tear.

Hold-down bolts
Hot-dip galvanised high tensile steel hold-down bolts, either cast in or chemicallyinserted, keep the soleplates firmly in position.

High strength soleplates are used to transfer and distribute heavy wheel loads to concrete beams. They are usually 20-30mm thick and galvanised to prevent corrosion.

Grout
Non-shrink cement based or epoxy resin grout as a filler is used to firmly support soleplates. Under high load conditions, it retains its original volume and thus maintains the crane rail level.
