Traktor Pro + BCD2000 Final Solution and Setup

This solution has been tested and works with the new Traktor Pro on a Win XP sp3 PC tuned for audio use and hasn't been tested on other computers, so it may work or not for you. I'm not responsable for any damage and/or data-loss on your PCs or controllers when trying this !!!!! Daksha_BCDpro.zip file contents: -Setup_ENG.pdf (this file) -Setup_ITA.pdf (this file in Italian) -BCDpro.tsi-> Traktor Pro's Setups for Midi, Keyboard Shortcuts, screen layouts and FXs -Stickers.jpg -> Labels to print on adhesive paper and glue to your consolle to reflect the real panel's function after applying my setup. This workaround is possible thanks to the great job made by the Angular Momentum team with the Jogwheel fix: thanks to them first of all! I combined it with the original BCD3000.tks file delivered with Traktor Pro, but modified and tweaked for use with a BCD2000...LET'S START ! 1- Download and install/upgrade newer BCD2000 drivers from Behringer : http://www.behringerdownload.de/B-Control_download/BCD2000-driver-setup1-1-1-0.exe 2- Download and install MidiYoke http://www.midiox.com/zip/MidiYokeSetup.msi than reboot your pc and if you don't need MidiYoke for other pourpouses, go to Windows XP Control Panel, in MidiYoke Settings enable just one midi port. You won't need more for your BCD2000. 3- Download the great Angular Momentum's fix for BCD2000 Jogwheels from: http://www.amvst.com/uploads/2_AM-BCD-2000Jogwheel%20Fix.zip Extract it to your programs folder and link it on your Desktop. 4- Install or upgrade to Traktor Pro 5- Go to the BCD2000 Panel in your taskbar, select a reasonable latency depending on your system, and set your controller to BDJ Mode, not Advanced (as many previous workarounds used). 6- Launch the Jogwheel Fix from Angular Momentum, uncheck all unneeded IN and OUT midi ports, and select only BCD2000 as input and MidiYoke 1 as output. Don't close the program! Minimize it if you want or leave it as it is. 7- Start Traktor, configure your audio for using the BCD2000 Asio interface and channels 1-2 as Master, 3-4 as Monitor. Configure your Midi IN device as MidiYoke 1 and your Midi OUT to BCD2000. 8- Stay in Traktor -> File -> Preferences -> at the bottom of the setup window, push the Import button and select the BCDpro.tsi files you found inside my pack.

A dialog box will ask you which features to import. My .tsi includes first of all the midi setup and keyboard shorcuts, usefull for browsing, previewing and loading tracks into the decks using no mouse at all. I included Fxs and interface setups also, you aren't obbliged to import these to have a working consolle, but if you want to try them, here they are! 9- Apply all changes, quit and restart Traktor. YOU DID IT !!! Now your Behringer consolle is a mix between the best features of the 2000 and the 3000 (at least for me...you are free to change everything you want to suite your needs) and you have also easy shorcuts for common & usefull functions when having a gig. KEYBOARD SHORTCUTS: S -> Opens the file browser in fullscreen mode and/or switches back to deck view R -> Audio Record ON-OFF F1 to F10 -> Loads the Favourite Folders at from 1 to 10 into the playlist. PAG. UP PAG. DOWN -> Scrolls the tree view up'n'down. ENTER opens and closes subfolders. UP arrow DOWN arrow -> Scrolls up & down in the Playlist selecting tracks one by one. Keep pressed for fast scrolling. ENTER -> Loads the selected track in the preview player, pressing BACKSPACE will stop it. LEFT & RIGHT ARROWS -> BWD & FFWD of the preview player ! SPACE BAR -> Loads the selected track into the first stopped deck. You really need NO MOUSE now ! CONTROLLER FUNCTIONS (part 1): The functions in the bottom part of the consolle (decks & mixer) are as you see them on your BCD2000 Panel. -Loops: They are designed to set the LOOP-IN when pressing loop-in /end on your BCD, than pressing loop-out at the right time will set the end of loop, start looping, and light the led on. Pressing again will release the loop, turn off the led and go on with normal song playback. CONTROLLER FUNCTIONS (part 2): -Your actual ANALOG INPUT A & ANALOG INPUT B will act as CUE A & CUE B on the BCD3000. -Your actual TALK OVER & ON AIR will act as EXT IN A & EXT IN B on the BCD3000, giving voice to your mic and/or Turntable, Cdj or whatever you connect to it. -Your actual DECK-A/DECK-B PFL MIX knob will balance PFL % / MASTER % in your headphone. -Your actual PHONES SPLIT/MASTER OUT switch is no more needed, so it will act as key lock for both decks. -KNOBS and BUTTONS 1 & 4 -> Deck A Filter (1) and Deck B Filter (4) -BUTTON 2 -> FX1 On -BUTTON 3 -> FX2 On -KNOB 2 -> FX1 Param. -KNOB 3 -> FX2 Param.

Last things & suggestions : If you want to reassign commands or you accidentally delete a Led configuration, you can find Midi CCs in the Behringer .pdf english manual on their site. http://www.behringerdownload.de/BCD2000/BCD2000_ENG_Rev_A.pdf There is a also Sticker.jpg in this package. Print it on self-adhesive paper and place labels in this way:

So...have fun with your renewed working consolle, remember launching always the JogWheel Fix setting the right ins & outs in it & then starting Traktor. If this setup works for and you are enjoing it, drop me a line or a comment here: http://www.myspace.com/daksha303 ! Peace !
