INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON GLOCAL CRISIS AND ENVIRONMENTAL GOVERNANCE IN NORTHEASTERN REGION OF INDIA

ABOUT THE CONFERENCE Environmental governance is a concept in political ecology or environmental policy related to defining the elements needed to achieve sustainability. All human activities-political, social and economic- should be understood and managed as subsets of the environment and ecosystems. Global crisis issues should be analyzed and mitigated in the backdrop of local perspective. This Conference intends to address various dimensions of global crises focusing on the maintenance, management and governance of the environment including prescriptive solutions and policy dimensions. CONFERENCE PROGRAM The conference will be held for three days with parallel sessions on the listed themes. There will be keynote sessions in the conference, and each technical session will have one invited lecture. Panel discussion on the conference title will be held towards the end of the conference. Silchar is the headquarters of Cachar district in southern Assam, ABOUT THE UNIVERSITY Set amidst a sprawling 600 acres undulating hills, Assam University was established by an Act of Parliament promulgated in 1989 (Act XIII). Abstract Submission:

Two copies of the abstract (typed in Times New Roman, 12, Microsoft Word 2007 or earlier versions, File type: .doc / .docx, within 250 words) should be sent by registered/speed post or by e-mail attachment to icgceg2013@gmail.com. Please specify the mode of presentation i.e. oral or poster. Poster presentation should fit within 1 m x 1 m area. Only unpublished original research articles will be accepted. Abstracts without registration will not be accepted. The final decision regarding selection of an abstract and the mode of presentation rests with the scientific committee. Registration Fee
