A Brief; Tarja Turunen: Form a Fan.

Tarja Soile Susanna Turunen Cabuli, born August 17, 1977, in Finland; is a lyric
soprano and songwriter, Tarja sang solo in Waltari's rock-themed 1999 ballet
Evankeliumi (also known as Evangelicum) in several sold-out performances at
the Finish National Opera. She continued to tour and record with Nightwish
through 2000 and 2001, after which she enrolled in Karlsruhe, Germany's Music
University. While there, she recorded vocals for Nightwish's 2002 album 'Century
Child' and for 'Beto Vázquez Infinity'.
And after an argument on a flight with band member Tuomas Holopainen, where
things were 'said' she was asked to leave the band after the Hartwall Areena
(Helsinki) concert on October 21, 2005, in an open letter, written by Tuomas
Holopainen, and signed by the rest of the band, given to her immediately after
the concert. They claimed cultural differences, and greedy commercial interests
on Tarja's behalf cited her instantaneous release from the band. And that the
entire band was in agreement with that decision.
Later, the very lovely and talented Anette Olzon was to replace Tarja, after much
speculation from the Euro media which had suggested Sarah Brightman be the
replacement in an April fools Joke, and soon after suggested Tristanias' former
vocalist, Vibeke Stene would, quite plausibly, take over the reigns at the
Nightwish stable.
But it would not be.
The band had well and truly made their decision with Annette Olzon, and kept it
very quiet.
But Tuomas Holopainen:
(A.K.A. Dickhead, childish, arsehole, fuckstick, imp', rimmer, classless, bevomit,
bespawled, meconium, fimicolous, microphallous, caprylic, carminative, shit fire,
buncombe, ...I think that's it!...)
...continued to insult; be rude; & to publicly humiliate Tarja.
And the seemingly childish slap stick continued back and forth between them for
quite some time after that.
Tarja’s husband (Argentinian businessman, Marcelo Cabuli) had taken it upon
himself, to now become publicly involved, and himself now answering questions
on the matter.
But it would soon have little significance, as Tarja's solo career took of.
And her public debut as a solo artist quickly proved to be a very wise move.
As a member of Nightwish, she easily combined Metal and her soprano vocals to
create what we know as Nightwish to be today. And now as a solo artist she has
further taken a step up; she has successfully crossed the floor and took
symphonic Funk/Jazz/Gothic/rock/metal, and joined Opera at the hip in a very
different and 'tasty' kind of way. And she has stepped out, created her first solo
album, bearing her name, as only "Tarja"!
On the 10 September 2008, a Spinefarm UK representative announced that they
would be releasing an EP for Tarja on December 1st which would include new
material.
In December 2008 The Seer EP was released in the U.K. and the new extended
edition of 'My Winter Storm' was released on January 2nd, 2009.
'My Winter Storm' falls in an uncategorized or the unclassifiable genre.
It's an amazingly powerful album that can be appreciated by her already loyal
fans, and new fans, alike.
And I'm one of those proud enough to say I've been 'Tarjarised'!

Tarja is currently recording her second album, 'What Lies Beneath', which is set
for a 2010 release...
Just for the record: I still enjoy listening to early albums from Nightwish, and even
now with Annette Olzon fronting the band. It just upsets me the way in which this
was all handled by both parties...
peace and piece.
