Around 15% of undesirable phenomena in fabric are caused by

hairiness defects. Differences in the number of fibers of different lengths
tell you nothing about unwanted variations in hairiness within a yarn

downstream processes and complaint-free products.

For checking spinning settings, regular laboratory inspection of the

spun yarns remains extremely important, despite the presence of
online monitoring. This means you have to test long lengths of yarn for

shade variation after dying.

In contrast to mechanical alteration of yarn hairiness, yarn compact-

ing through the spinning technique depends less on the direction of
feed. In this, the use of vacuum in the spinning triangle achieves more
effective integration of the fibers – all fibers are positively controlled
before the twist is applied. The result is a significantly lowered hairiness
and a visibly improved evenness.
