Quad County Urban League Job Description Soft Skills Trainer/Facilitator (Part-t ime) NATURE OF WORK Under supervision

from the Director of Workforce Development & Ad ult Learning, the Soft Skills Facilitator assumes responsibility of the facilita tion of Soft Skills Training offered at Quad County Urban League. He/she will fo llow the prescribed curriculum/calendar of activities that are designed to devel op the soft skills of clients. This is done to increase their skill level in ord er to secure employment. This is inclusive of mock job interviews, job counselin g to clients, sensitivity awareness and training for existing and potential empl oyers of hard to place clients (ex-offenders and seniors). DUTIES AND RESPONSIBI LITES 1. Facilitates day-to-day classes to assist clients in gaining knowledge a nd soft-skills needed to secure employment. 2. Conducts classes in an atmosphere that promotes caring and respect in accordance with the Mission and Vision of Quad County Urban League. Plans, organizes, and administers the prescribed curriculum to clients with the support of the Soft Sk ills Employment Coordinator. Prepares written weekly reports to Program Director . Demonstrates understanding of Employability skills, teaching materials, and pr ocedures with understanding of various teaching methods. Understands the need of and sensitivity to culturally diverse populations. Maintains close communicatio n with Employment Coordinator and Director of Workforce Development & Adult Lear ning. Instructs clients in job seeking, application procedures; resume writing, interview preparation and job retention skills and attitudes. Provides job searc h/career information workshops and presentations as needed. Facilitates career c ounseling, evaluation, skills training, job readiness training and other activit ies related to employment transition for deaf individuals. Ensures the delivery of services which are reflective of o an Independent Living Philosophy/Self Suff iciency and o Consumer empowerment and self-advocacy. 13. 14. Prepares required documentation and reports, including case notes. Provides feed back to Supervisor for improving the quality of service delivery. JOB RELATIONSHIPS This position requires the individual to work closely with the Program Director and Education Coordinator. He/she must possess organizational skills and have strong oral/written and interpersonal communication skills. This individual must have the ability to assess and support individual needs and abi lities as well as demonstrate patience and flexibility during the learning proce ss. This individual must understand, maintain, and uphold the mission and vision of the Quad County Urban League. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE A four-year college degree is required.
