The Mth bhava, a ong with the -rd, )0th and ))th is a <Hpachaya<. !t is the house of service "work#. The 9ord gains victory over the person by showing him the rewards. However, the amount of punishment and reward to be meted out to a person is pure y the know edge of Bod as it is on y he who can determine it. The Mth is the -rd from /th, which is the house of mother. Hence materna unc es are seen from the Mth house. Mth is the house of enemies. The strength and weakness of the enemy is to be seen from here. !t is considered a ways good to have a weak or debi itated Mth ord as it indicates that the enemy is weak and cou d be won over. 5fter the )st house "9agna>5scendant#, the .th house or Saptam Bhava is the second most important house. Hence it is a so known as the <&a atra< meaning that which indicates the se3 and se3ua instincts of the person. .th is a very important house a so because it provides the abi ity to bring forth new ife in the form of progeny * it gives form to a new atma that deve ops as the chi d. The organs "private parts# are basica y used for procreative activity. The genera we being of a person cou d be determined on how good or bad the .th house is and what effects it has on the /th and )0th houses of the person. Thus, .th is the <naisargika< bhava of 9ord Shiva who is the 9ord for <&a yanam< meaning we being "9ord Brahma is for <5yu< meaning ife> ongevity whi e %aha Aishnu is for <Dhanam< for sustenance#. 5s the .th dea s with inner desires and procreation, it shows rebirth. !t is a so the @th house " ongevity>de ay# for the ),th house "moksh>emancipatio n#. !t cou d be known from this bhava whether, when, where and why wi an individua be reborn. !n fact, there is a practice of preparing 4%rityu &und is4 which is prepared at the time of death and the .th bhava of this chart wou d indicate e3act y the nature, why, when and where about the rebirth. 5 <papa< graha in the .th wou d indicate <;unar$anma< "rebirth#. 'ow, desire for something is ove or kama. The purity or impurity of desire determines the 1uantum of sorrow. Desire to attain Bod is, perhaps, the purest form of ove>kama. 5gain, &ama can be for different purposes and with different grades>degrees of intensity. Desire for wife "cohabiting with one woman * as practised and e3amp e set by 9ord Rama#, chi dren, home and their we being is a genuine and proper desire and to sustain them one needs money. Hence the need for a $ob>&arma and hence the sorrow when you fa short of resources for meeting those needs. Here comes the re ativity between the .th, /th and the )0th. But, if the same ove were to turn into ust "carna desire * an anima instinct for se3# then the desire is improper. The higher such improper and uncontro ed desires the more the sorrows that one e3periences. .th is a so the house that indicates the overcoming of enemies or being van1uished by them. 'ow, when does a person have enemiesD Gn y a person who has something which others do not, or, when somebody desires to attain something which others too are aiming, does one create and have enemies. However, if a person were simp y desirous of attaining Bod, he is not going to have enemies. !t is on y materia istic things>wor d y things, which attract enemies. 5 beggar is most ike y not to have enemies, whi e a rich man is bound to have more enemies because what a beggar doesn<t have a rich man has.

Here comes the re ation between the Mth and the .th bhava. The Mth indicates enemies and the .th indicates van1uishing enemies or being van1uished by them. 5 weak Mth 9ord and a strong .th bhava is sure to van1uish the enemies, whi e in the converse the native is defeated.

.th bhava of the naisargika bha chakra is <Aani$ sthana< meaning the house of trade and commerce. ?hat is the aim behind the karmaD !f it is to earn money, then the second from the karma house ")0th house# i.e., the ))th house and its trines come into focus. 5nd of these, the .th happens to be the )0th from the naisargika )0th bhava of the chart which indicates the karma to be performed and the actua desire for the performance of the karma "to earn money for sustenance#. Thus, the .th a so becomes the house of business and being the naisargika house for T?ife>5rdhangni< it a so becomes the bhava for determining the compatibi ity with partners in business.

Therefore, the .th is tru y ref ective of the inner se f of the person. !t is ref ective of the <5yana< of the person. 5n inappropriate ordship>p acement>rasi of the .th bhava indicates the e3tent to which a person bears a character, disposition in ife, whether the person wi be reborn or wi attain moksha. 5ny aff iction to the .th wou d be detrimenta to the deve opment of the person as a good socia being. Hence the .th is a very vita bhava which ho ds the key to success or fai ure of ife.

Thus, to determine the strengths and resu ts of native<s chart, the .th, .th 9ord and is Darapada "5.# p acement become very significant and important. %ars in the .th !ndicates &u$a Dosha "this is due to the anger of Deva Rishi 'arad * HpayaP ;rayer to Hanuman$i is the so e remedy#. The p acement of %ars in .th indicates war or T:udh< in ife "as may be seen from 9ord Rama<s ife# which means a ife fu of strugg es with fre1uent separation from wife. This cou d mean a separation, incompatib e natures, angry nature>hot constitution of the wife>business partner, disharmony in marita ife * which means a genera y tense and strained persona ife. However, the positive signs of have %ars in the .th wou d mean that the person is very strong physica y and a so menta y as it aspects the )st "5scendant>9agna#, which is a so because strugg es actua y strengthen the person menta y and physica y.

Aenus in the .th This wou d indicate ove for a beautifu things, strong desire for se3 "being the natura &a atrakaraka i.e., the significator for se3#, beautifu wife>partner, desire for materia u3uries of ife, a robust physi1ue with se3ua appea , attractive body etc.

Saturn in .th This wou d indicate the dirty side of se3 and other ikings, a de ayed marriage, spouse>partner being o der than se f, this wou d a so mean that the spouse cou d be o der in thoughts, disposition, age etc., separation, disharmony. The desire for se3 cou d even be a carna desire "as it gains Digba a in the .th# without any discretion for caste, creed and eve s.

6upiter in .th 6upiter, the Devaguru, is considered the best p acement in the .th. 5 Buru, and that too a Devaguru, cou d never do anything wrong. Hence he indicates the best for the overa we being of the person, particu ar y in a fema e<s chart where he indicates abso ute chastity. He shou d indicate the chaste desires of the person.

Rahu in the .th Being a demon, wi indicate diabo ica nature, carna "se3#desires, ruth essness in a aspects of ife, dirty thoughts, fi thy se3, invo vement in prostitution, gamb ing and the ikes. However, a contro ed Rahu cou d a so give the better things of ife and materia fu fi ment. ;ropitiating 9ord Shiva with water "Rudrabhishek# to contro and ca m the heated and passionate desires or have contro ed se3 is the best Hpaya for Rahu, whi e * the mantraP 4Han Gm Tat Sat4 * Satyanarana %antra is he pfu to $ust cut off the effects of Rahu i.e., no desires at a #.

&etu in the .th Being the dismembered body of the demon Rahu, it wou d indicate a sick y spouse. "The .th house, is a so the house of &amadeva * hence the desires. Destruction of desires "i.e., &amadeva# eventua y eads to moksha#.

This cou d be redeemed on y with a strong and benevo ent 6upiter in the chart. .th 9ord in the +th wou d mean that that bhagya "fortune# of the person wi turn for the good after marriage. 0 #"#"-" 0'a'ada, also &nown as !auna'ada, is the 3"rudha3 of the =>th $hava of the chart (B#+S: 8ha'ter DJ - Slo&as =->). This 'ada determines the inner nature4attitude of the native towards the s'ouse. The 3Sam$andha3 or relationshi' of the lord of 0'a'ada vis-M-vis the .agna lord, $% wa% of 'lacement, will determine whether the native would marr% at all or not. If the lord of 0'a'ada goes to the =>th (the house for sacrifice4T%aga) therefrom, it indicates a sure sign of denial of marriage. This would also indicate the dela%s, if an%, and the reasons for such dela% in marriage.

1ow, how do we see the 3sam$andha3 of the lord of 0'a'ada with the lord of .agnaN The rasi4sign occu'ied $% the lord of the .agna is called 3#a&a .agna3. The #a&a .agna signifies the whims and fancies of the native. )hile the natal .agna determines what is good or $ad for the $od%, #a&a .agna signifies what a 'erson li&es or disli&es. Thus, a 'a'a graha occu'%ing the .agna will not signif% clearl% the li&es and disli&es of the 'erson as the #a&a .agna would.

Therefore, the relationshi' $etween a graha and the lord of the .agna4#a&a .agna should $e studied carefull% to determine the li&es and disli&es, whims and fancies etc., of a 'erson. )hen the sam$andha of a graha is not good with the lord of .agna4#a&a .agna, the graha tends to re9ect its significations. This determines the fact that a certain 'lacement of a graha, though it signifies certain naisargi& Cualities, loses such Cualities in terms of its relationshi' with the lord of the .agna4#a&a .agna. This has to $e studied carefull% to determine whether the 'erson would marr% or not, what the 'erson will li&e or disli&e, what the 'erson will ada't or renounce etc. For e;am'le, mere occu'ation of .agna $% Shani - a naisargi&a significator of alcohol and negative things - will not determine the 'ersons li&ing for alcohol or negative as'ects as his 'a&a lagna would, while the converse is true in the case of $enefics.

(1ote: +owever, Brihas'ati O/ara&a for 37eeva3 and -hi Sha&ti which is the most im'ortant Cualit% of manP is the naisargi& &ara&a for #a&a .agna.) Since 0'a'ada determines the nature4attitude of the 'erson towards the s'ouse who is a lifelong 'artner, it is ver% im'ortant that the sign4rasi of the 0'a'ada is aus'icious. It is the aus'iciousness of the rasi that determines the 'urit% of nature of the native and how the 'erson would treat the s'ouse. "n% affliction to the rasi, or if the rasi is inaus'icious, to that e;tent the native3s attitude towards the s'ouse is affected. " 'ro'er and detailed stud% of the Gth could indicate the t%'e of disease that one would die of and the length of time that one will suffer during the inimical 'eriod of the Gth house and its lord. The +th bhava signifies father, dharma, guru, past karma, bhagya, ong $ourneys, thighs, sister*in* aw "brother<s wife#, $ourneys to ho y p aces etc.

?hy is the +th house the significator of father and dharmaD 2rom the princip e of trines, we know that 9ord Brahma resides in the )st bhava, whi e 9ord Shiva resides in the (th and 9ord Aishnu in the +th bhava. ?hi e the )st bhava signifies <ayu< "birth# and the (th signifies prosperity, the +th indicates <dharma< since 9ord Aishnu resides in it. !t is he who fi3es the dharma of the person and gives according to what he deserves.

The +th house of the naisargik rasi chakra is Dhanur "Sagittarius# which is a fiery sign and its ord is Devaguru Brihaspati "6upiter#. The fiery nature of Dhanur is because of its agni tatwa, which means energy in the form of ight. This agni is ca ed the <Brihat 5gni< or the ight of en ightenment and it acts on the dhi shakti "head# without with one wi never be ab e to attain en ightenment>know edge. This energy is represented by Brihaspati as we know that he is the significator of dhi shakti. !t is because of the reason that 9ord Aishnu<s wi in determining the creation of the person, his dharma, his bhagya etc., is seen from this house of Brihaspati, that 6upiter is seen as representing Bod "Bhagavate>Bhagam# in the horoscope. Brihaspati is said to represent Bod in the horoscope because he possesses a the 1ua ities ike shantam "peace#, shubha akshanam "good ooks>disposition#, daya "mercy# etc., that Bod possesses. But how is Brihaspati connected with the birth of the individua D 6upiter represents Bod and he is the sustainer of ife "$eeva# whi e Surya is the giver of ife. Therefore, there shou d be some graha representing and acting as Bod to create ife. !t is Surya, in the form of father who acts as Bod to create ife. Bod fi3es our birth on the basis of our past karma but he cannot take birth on earth to create every individua being. The $ob of creation is thus the responsibi ity of the father when he, at that moment of creation, acts as Bod. The representation of Bod in physica form by the father is the reason why the +th house is associated with father.

How is father responsib e for birthD The atma that is to take birth resides in the body of the father in a p ace ca ed 4%oo adharachakra4. The %oo adharachakra is actua y the end of the spina chord in our body. !n the feta stage, the baby in the womb of the mother deve ops with a tai , which is actua y the e3tension of the spina chord, which gradua y recedes, with the growth of the fetus. !n the Bhagwad Bita, 9ord &rishna has e3p ained how the atma comes to reside in this chakra of the father. !t is in the form of rain that the atma comes down on the earth and through the soi , it enters the trees and gets into the fruits through the sap of the tree. The atma, then finds its way to the father when such a fruit which bears the atma to be born is consumed by him. Through the b ood stream it reaches the moo adharachakra where it resides ti such time fi3ed by Bod for its birth.

The deity of %oo adharachakra is 9ord %aha Banapthi as he is the deity of &etu. ?e know that &etu ru es the tai . !t is the initia tai that gradua y recedes to become the end of the spine and is known as %oo adharachakra. Thus, &etu becomes the important graha to be studied to see the procreative aspects of the father. Therefore, &etu is known to e3pand the fami y in terms of numbers and is a so symbo ica y represented by a ye ow s1uare, which is the symbo of &etu "procreation#. Since Surya is the giver of ife and is the naisargik

atmakarak "who a so represents father#, it is e3a ted in 5ries in the 5shwin nakshatra, which is a nakshatra of &etu. Thus, we see the connection of how and why Sun is e3a ted in 5ries. Thus, we come to see the re ationship between father and Bod. Therefore, the physica presence>form of father is seen from the +th house. Besides, the other important of ro e of father in a person<s ife is to teach the chi d the idea s>princip es of ife. The first ideo ogy>princip e, otherwise known as dharma, is earnt from the house i.e., from the father. Then comes the ro e of the teacher * Buru. 5 good guru teaches good things to the chi d. Bood know edge is very important for the proper upbringing of the chi d. !t is good know edge and good princip es imbibed by the chi d both in the fami y and from the Buru, that stand good in the ife of a person. !t keeps him princip ed in ife. 5nd good princip es incu cate good and strong discip ine. Therefore, the +th house becomes a very important chart in the ife of a person.

5ny deviation from>desertion of dharma eads to the destruction of the se f fina y. ?hen dharma "princip e# is affected, the ))th house " abhasthana# therefrom, which is the .th house indicating wife, is first affected. Subse1uent y eading to affect the (th "the house of chi dren * because the wife<s princip es ".th# is affected# and the -rd is affected as the prakramba of the native is used to shie d the fami y "wife and chi dren#. 5nd when the -rd is affected, the 9agna too is affected because it is the individua who is adding on to his sins "paapa#. 'ow, when is the dharma affectedD !t gets affected in a bid to earn more " abha *))th house#. Bad princip es adopted to increase the income in abhasthan "))th# no doubt increases the income, but it a so increases the sins to that e3tent affecting the +th house, which sets of a chain reaction to the other houses "))th therefrom#. This is derived from the 4%andooka Dasha4 "%andooka dasha means frog $umps on every third house. This is seen in the Rudramsa chart and is seen for devining wars, victories, defeats etc.#.

Thus, the +th bhava is a so for discip ine. !t indicates <6apa< which discip ines the person<s ife. Strong +th house wi indicate a strong sense of discip ine and, hence, strong princip es. This wi ref ect the e3tent to which the person wi observe discip ine in ife and obedience towards his father and Buru. "5 strong +th and the Sun p aced in /th or @th from 9agna indicates the person to be very obedient to father.# The +th house a so ref ects the past karma of the person. !t is the good deeds in one<s ife that determine the 1ua ity of ife one wou d ead in the ne3t birth. The physica body of a person perishes with time, but the atma carries with it the karma accumu ated by the person. !t is according to this karma that one gets the share "Bhagya * derived from bhaga or bhagam, meaning the share from father>Bod# of the materia things in the wor d. Hence, the +th house is a so ca ed the house of <Bhagya< * meaning, what one wou d en$oy as his>her share of things in the wor d as decided by Bod. Since the +th signifies the thighs of the person, it a so indicates ong distance $ourneys. ?hi e studying ong distance $ourneys, it is very important to study the 46a apatha saham4 "6a a * meaning waterK patham * meaning crossingK and saham * meaning point# to reckon whether the person wi cross arge bodies of water "oceans etc.,# and a so 4;aradesa saham4 ";aradesa * meaning foreignK and saham * meaning point# to reckon whether the person wi have residence in foreign and. However, the sambandha of Shukra is a so to be reckoned as he is the significator of vehic es "means of conveyance#, whi e &etu, the mokshakaraka, wi indicate astra trave s "trave of the atma by detachment from the physica se f * which is norma y attained on y by Sadhus after strong tapasya. &etu he ps attain this by way of detaching the mind from the physica se f.#.

Hth $hava $eing the house of the .ord, it also indicates tem'les and other 'laces of worshi' (strong influence of Sur%a on Hth will indicate construction of tem'les, while affliction from (ahu will indicate destruction4desecration of religious 'laces). Hth $hava also indicates the wife of the %ounger $rother and also the wife3s %ounger sister. "nother as'ect that could $e seen from the Hth house is 3renunciation3 and its timing is to $e derived from its 3-rig -asha3 (-rig - is the 'ower to see). The s'iritual guru of the 'erson is to $e seen from the 35imsamsa3 (-->J) chart of the 'erson. It is the s'iritual guru who can hel' and guide the 'erson during tr%ing times and 'ut him4her on the right 'ath. Since this is in 8apricorn * the )0th house of the natura zodiac, the significance>importance of the )0th house in every individua s chart becomes very important and centra to a person<s 1ua ity of ife and action. 5 strong )0th house determines whether a person wi become a karmayogi or not. &arma is action> abour and perform karma one e3pends energy. Therefore, the first significator of the )0th house becomes Saturn "Sani# as he uses up a great dea of energy to do a work. Besides, Saturn is the p anet who keeps the account of a bad karmas of a person and punishes a person according to the deeds of the person. Thus, Saturn is a so known as a <&armic p anet<. Besides the individua karma, Saturn a so keeps an account of the <;itri Rina< "debts of father and forefathers#. Therefore, the first action of a person born on this earth shou d be to wipe away the <pitri rina<. 9ord &rishna says in Bhagwad Bita that b essed are those who die without any debts * <pitri rina< in particu ar.

To wipe away a accumu ated debts and to perform work one needs energy and this energy comes from the p anet %ars "%anga #. %ars, thus, becomes the ,nd important p anet so far as the )0th house is concerned. 5s a matter of fact, this one of the prime reasons why %ars e3a ts and a so attains digba in the )0th house. %ars is represented by 9ord Hanuman who

H ;5;5D5 Hpapada, a so known as Baunapada, is the <5rudha< of the ),th bhava of the chart "B;HSP 8hapter -0 * S okas )*,#. "Bauna * means one who fo ows Z5nuchara * that which fo ows * S oka , of 8hapter -0B;HS[ * 5ccording y, the <5rudha< of the bhava that fo ows "),th# the 9agna is, thus, the Baunapada or Hpapada.# This pada determines the inner nature>attitude of the native towards the spouse. The <Sambandha< or re ationship of the ord of Hpapada vis*\*vis the 9agna ord, by way of p acement, wi determine whether the native wou d marry at a or not. !f the ord of Hpapada goes to the ),th "the house for sacrifice>Tyaga# therefrom, it indicates a sure sign of denia of marriage. This wou d a so indicate the de ays, if any, and the reasons for such de ay in marriage.

'ow, how do we see the <sambandha< of the ord of Hpapada with the ord of 9agnaD The rasi>sign occupied by the ord of the 9agna is ca ed <;aka 9agna<. The ;aka 9agna signifies the whims and fancies of the native. ?hi e the nata 9agna determines what is good or bad for the body, ;aka 9agna signifies what a person ikes or dis ikes. Thus, a papa graha occupying the 9agna wi not signify c ear y the ikes and dis ikes of the person as the ;aka 9agna wou d.

Therefore, the re ationship between a graha and the ord of the 9agna>;aka 9agna shou d be studied carefu y to determine the ikes and dis ikes, whims and fancies etc., of a person. ?hen the sambandha of a graha is not good with the ord of 9agna>;aka 9agna, the graha tends to re$ect its significations. This determines the fact that a certain p acement of a graha, though it signifies certain naisargik 1ua ities, oses such 1ua ities in terms of its re ationship with the ord of the 9agna>;aka 9agna. This has to be studied carefu y to determine whether the person wou d marry or not, what the person wi ike or dis ike, what the person wi adapt or renounce etc. 2or e3amp e, mere occupation of 9agna by Shani * a naisargika significator of a coho and negative things * wi not determine the persons iking for a coho or negative aspects as his paka agna wou d, whi e the converse is true in the case of benefics.

"'oteP However, Brihaspati U&araka for <6eeva< and Dhi Shakti which is the most important 1ua ity of manV is the naisargik karaka for ;aka 9agna.# Since Hpapada determines the nature>attitude of the person towards the spouse who is a ife ong partner, it is very important that the sign>rasi of the Hpapada is auspicious. !t is the auspiciousness of the rasi that determines the purity of nature of the native and how the person wou d treat the spouse. 5ny aff iction to the rasi, or if the rasi is inauspicious, to that e3tent the native<s attitude towards the spouse is affected.

Since Surya is the giver of ife and is the naisargik atmakarak "who a so represents father#, it is e3a ted in 5ries in the 5shwin nakshatra, which is a nakshatra of &etu.

This is derived from the T%andooka DashaT< "%andooka dasha means frog $umps on every third house. This is seen in the Rudramsa chart and is seen for devining wars, victories, defeats etc.#.

Thus, the +th bhava is a so for discip ine. !t indicates T6apa< which discip ines the person<s ife. ?hi e studying ong distance $ourneys, it is very important to study the 46a apatha saham4

Thus, we ma% see that the Hth house is a ver% im'ortant house of the horosco'e of a 'erson. It reflects the 'rinci'les and ideals of the 'erson and to what e;tent will he4she follow it in life. Gne of the most important aspects of doing any karma>action, is the basic desire to do so. This desire for doing a karma comes from the p anet %ercury "Budh#. Therefore, %ercury becomes a very important p anet for the )0th house. 5 weak and aff icted %ercury cou d ruin the ife of a person due to ack of desire to perform any karma>activity. The e eventh house is the house of gains and is known as 9abha Bhava. The gains though main y seen in terms of monetary gains, in genera this house signify the gain of a ob$ectives and desires. !t is interesting to note that the third house is the house of desires and counted in the anti*zodiaca direction, the -rd house shows the fu fi ment of desires. This the why %aharishi 6aimini says that this is the house of Hara or destruction of desires. This is the ast of the four upachayas "->M>)0>))# and being a upachaya, p anets p aced here cause growth of the agna or the se f. 5 most a p anets give auspisicious resu ts whi e p aced in this house as they sha he p in gaining different ob$ectives of the ife. It is usuall% said the the $est 'lace for the alefics are the u'acha%as. +owever, their 'lacement in the si;th house is tric&% since, this 'osition on one hand gives valour and the 'ower to conCuer enemies, on the other, it gives trou$le from the enemies. +owever if the lagna lord is stronger than the si;th lord, then the native wins over the enemies and otherwise if the si;th lord is stronger. The &ind of enemies can $e seen from the natural significations of the 'lanet who is 'laced in the si;th house. For e;am'le, if Sun is 'laced in the si;th there shall $e enemit% with influencial 'ersons and 'ersons from the govt. This might also show the 'redominant characteristic on the enemies. The $enefics 'laced in this house ma&es the 'erson free from enemies and if there is enemit%, the native conCuers his enemies without much effort.

This is also the house of diseases. The diseases caused in this $hava is more 'athogenic than 'h%siological. If a 'lanet is wea&l% 'laced in this $hava then the native suffers diseases in the 'h%siological s%stem ruled $% the 'lanet. The 'h%siological s%stem ruled $% different 'lanets are as follows:

Sun - S&eletal s%tem oon - 8irculator% s%stem ars - uscular s%stem ercur% - 1ervous s%stem including s&ins 7u'iter - -igestive s%stem 5enus - (e'roductive s%stem Saturn - *;cretor% s%stem

"long with the s%stems governed $% different 'lanets, the% also govern other $od% 'arts, which needs to $e studied to understand different diseases a 'erson would $e suffering with. 0nderstanding diseases are an essential 'art of medical astrolog% and shall $e ta&en u' in another article.

Si;th house is also the house of maternal uncles and in whole it re'resents the mother3s famil%. If malefics are 'laced here as well as afflicted, then the native3s maternal uncles might suffer.

If a $enefic is 'laced in the si;th, its natural significance suffers with the e;'ense of the house itself (the house gains with the 'lacement of a $enefic). Thus is oon is 'laced in the si;th the 'erson suffers with lac& of mental felicit% and involved in man% unlawful activities if afflicted too. Similarl% if 5enus is so 'lace, the significations such as relationshi', marital harmon% etc., suffer heavil% and if 7u'iter is so 'laced, the 'erson suffers due to e;cessive eating (the% would li&e to eat, $ut man% things would $e 'rohi$ited $% the doctor). If ercur% is so 'laced, then the 'erson gets into trou$le due to communication and he is trou$led $% his &iths R &ins.

5enus is 'laced in arana /ara&a "vastha ( /") in this house and the natural as well as functional significations of 5enus significantl% suffer while it is 'laced here. #lanets in si;th have argala on the Eth, Gth and the Drd house. +ence 'lanets in this how singnificantl% affect the significations of the mentioned houses.

In the the third house malefics give lesser si$lings and in the fifth house it gives difficulties in $irth of children and also lesser in num$ers.

T+* ."!1" .agna is 'rimaril% a &endra $hava and secondaril% a tri&ona $hava and hence #arashara sa%s that this $hava is s'ecificall% aus'icious of all natives. If there is affliction to this $hava, the whole horosco'e is affected. alefics 'laced here can harm the $hava, however since this is a &endra $hava, if those malefics ( ars or Saturn) are 'laced in own house or e;altation, the% constitute two maha'urusha %oga namel% (ucha&a and Sasa aha'urusha %oga. )hen such maha'urusha %oga occurs, the 'lanet doesnot harm the $hava and instead 'romote the $hava.

The influence of the 'lanets on the 'h%sical features and nature, while 'laced on the .agna can $e seen from the characteristics of the 'lanets, which are as follows: _ Sun o +as hone%-coloured, golden Brown or Tawn% e%es (madhu 'ingala dr&) o +as SCarish Face (8haturasrah) o +as $ilious teme'erament ('itta 'ra&rti) o Is intelligent (-himan) o +as limited hair (#uman al'a&a) V o o o o o o o V o o o o o V o o o o o oon Is e;tremel% wind% and 'hlegmatic ($ahu vata &a'ha) Is .earned (#ragn%a) +as round face (Brtta) +as good loo&ing e%es (Su$ha -r&) +as sweet s'eech ( adhu va&%a) Fic&le-minded (8hanchal) Is .asciviousT eager to associate with o''osite se; ( adana "turah) ars +as fierce and $lood-red e%es (&ruraT ra&tetasana) 0nstead% or wavering (cha'ala) +as $ilious tem'erament ('itta 'ra&rti) Is angr% (/rodhi) +as thin waist and 'h%siCue (/rsah adh%a Tanu) ercur% Is admira$le (va'ush) Is s'lendid and $eautiful (Strestha) +as $eautiful s&inT s&in without $lemishes (shlishtva&) Is fond of humor (has%a ruchi) +e has a mi; of all the three humours, i.e., $ilious, 'hlegmatic and wind%

1ote: Terms inside the closed $rac&ets are the sans&rit term ta&en from B#+S. Since the .agna signif% the self and the 'ersonalit% of the native, the influence of different 'lanets shall influence the 'ersonalit% of the native too. If more 'lanets are 'laced in the .agna (or as'ect it), the 'erson would $e $road minded as he would $e having the attitude 4 'ersonalit% traits $estowed $% all 'lanets. an% shastras sa% that such 'eo'le will $e a &ing, which in modern conte;t mean an a$le leader or a natural leader.

This is a arana /ara&a Sthana for Saturn and hence the natural significations of Saturn such as longevit% gets severel% affected. +owever, if the% also constitute the aha'urusha %oga, the effect undergo transformation and the arana /ara&a avastha is cancelled.

The different /ara&as for this $havas are: Sun - SoulQ +ealth and 5italit% oon- Bod% 7u'iter - Intelligence Saturn - +air

The effect of different 'lanets on .agna is $ased on their interaction with these different &ara&as. If the% are friends to the /ara&a, the% shall enhance the significations of the &ara&aQ otherwise the% shall affect it adversel%. +owever, it needs to $e em'hasised again that strong 'lanets (e;altation, own, friendl% houses) tend to give less malefic results than the wea&er ones. It is also to $e noted that each 'lanet is a &ara&a for other houses too. If it is 'laced in a dusthana (FthT @thO =>th) from the concerned house (&ar%a $hava), then the native is unfortunate related to the affairs to that house. For e;am'le if Saturn is 'laced in the .agna, it can curtail longevit% since, it is the &ara&a of eighth house (longevit%) and if 'laced in the .agna, it would $e 'laced in si;th house from the eighth, which ha''ens to $e a dusthana from the &ar%a $hava. Similarl% ars is the /ara&a for enemies and if 'laced in the .agna, would $e in the eighth (dusthana) from the si;th house, causing damage to the si;th house. Thus, this 'osition of ars, causes suffering to the enemies in the hands of the native (.agna- self).

One more ver% im'ortant thing to consider is the conce't of argala. #lanets in the .agna would have argala on the =>th house, Drd house and the =Jth house. alefics in the .agna would have the argala on the ==th house too. Thus the 'lanets in the .agna shall effect the influences of these four houses also. If $enefics are 'laced in .agna, then it enhances, e;'enses on good cause, 'ros'erit% of the si$lings, enhacement of re'utation and fame and also income from desira$le sources. alefics 'laced in the .agna gives Cuite o''osite results.

The article is divided into various sections starting from the significations of BhavasQ !eneral strengths and wea&nesses of $havaQ !eneric effect of Benefics and malefics in the $havas and the s'ecific effect of all the 'lanets in the different $havas. I however admit that this article is no wa% com'rehensive and leaves enough room for im'rovement. I shall modif%T add sections to this as and when time 'ermits.
