Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED): It is a third-party green building certification programme offered by the United States Green Building Council (USGBC) and accredited by the Green Building Certification Institute (GBCI). It is also an internationally recognized building rating system for design, operations and construction of high quality green buildings. The buildings certified by LEED are environmentally developed, efficiently managed and profitable. As the LEED certification systems become popular in Greater China,architects, engineers and building professionals will be required to obtain the LEED accredited professional qualifications when they are involved in the design, construction and operations of green building projects. Participants will have a better understanding of the intent, credits and terms for each LEED credit category, as well as green building best practices, regulations and incentives. This seminar is for those seeking to learn the basics of green building and LEED. If participants want to learn about LEED in more detail, including specific strategies and professional standards or if they are pursuing the LEED Green Associate credential, then please consider to enroll the LEED accredited professional Building Design + Construction Examination Preparatory Workshops offered by the above mentioned organizations in April 2013.
