INTRODUCTION
This document describes the process of installing and using HASP SL network license
tool and network licenses (i.e. floating license) with Nemo Outdoor and Nemo Analyze.
In order to use network licenses with Nemo Outdoor or Nemo Analyze, you will need a
license server that will store and distribute the licenses.
Software licenses are permanently associated with the computer they are installed to
and cannot be moved to another computer. However, software licenses can also be
installed to a central floating license server, allowing Nemo Analyze/Nemo Outdoor to
use the licenses over the network as needed.
With Nemo Analyze, you can reserve licenses on-demand basis, in which case a license
is reserved from the server when Nemo Analyze is started, and immediately released to
the server license pool when Nemo Analyze is closed. On-demand use requires
continuous connection between the license server and the Nemo Analyze client.
With both Nemo Analyze and Nemo Outdoor, you can detach a license from the license
server for predefined period or until the license is manually returned to the server. When
using a detached license, the license is detached from the license server on your local
computer. A detached license can be used without a connection to the license server,
but it is not available to other users until it is attached back to the license server.

With Nemo Analyze, Floating license can be used both with Standalone and
Client/Server:



Note that the use of network li cense with the Nemo Anal yze Enterprise Edition
requires your system to have separate hardware for the Nemo Anal yze
database server, the l icense server, and the Nemo Anal yze Cl ients. For
database server and l icense server system requi rements, see Nemo Anal yze
Server Administration Guide.
The license server, however, does not have to be dedicated for the license
server, i.e. the server can run other services as well.

INSTALLING THE LICENSE SERVER
HW REQUIREMENTS FOR LICENSE SERVER
The following operating systems are supported with the license server:
Win32: 2000, XP, 2003 Server, 2008 Server and Vista and Windows 7
Win64: WinXP, 2003 Server, 2008 Server, Vista and Windows 7 for x86-64
OS X: Mac OS X 10.4.x-10.5.x
Linux: SuSE ES 10 and 11, RedHat EL5 SP4, Ubuntu Desktop 8.04 and
10.04, Debian 5.04
LICENSE SERVER NETWORK SETTINGS
The HASP li cense manager uses port 1947 for communicating with the client via TCP
and UDP.
When using the autodetect method (server name and address not configured manually) for
discovering the HASP license manager, the license manager sends a UDP broadcast to local
subnets through port 1947.
Alternatively, the license manager host name or address can be configured manually in the
Sentinel HASP Admin Control Center: go to http://localhost:1947, Configuration | Access
to Remote License Manager | Specify Search Parameters. In this case, a UDP ping is sent
through port 1947 for the license manager. Once the license manager is detected, it is
connected via TCP port 1947.
INSTALLING AND CONFIGURING THE LICENSE
SERVER
1. On the l icense server computer, run the install.bat file from the Nemo Outdoor or
Nemo Analyze installation CD (\HASP SL Network License Tool 900000-00). This
will run the haspdinst_outdoor_provisional.exe file which may take a few minutes.
When the installation is complete, the Operation successfully completed message is
displayed.

2. Run the hasprus.exe file on the license server computer. In the Sentinel HASP RUS
dialog, click the Coll ect Information button.

3. If you have HASP hardware dongles connected to the computer or you have other
licenses on the same computer, you will see the Select HASP key dialog with
multiple HASP HL and SL items. Select the correct software key (HASP SL) and click
OK.

4. If you are not sure which HASP SL key to choose, go to the Sentinel HASP Admi n
Control Center web page http://localhost:1947. Go to the HASP Keys page. The
vendor ID of Nemo tools is 95148. Locate the HASP SL key with the correct vendor
ID and click the Features button.

5. If this is the correct key, there should be only two rows with Feature IDs 0 and 65000.
Memorize the HASP key ID and select the corresponding HASP SL key in the Sel ect
HASP key dialog.

6. A .c2v file is created. Send the .c2v file to nemosupport@anite.com. You will receive
a .v2c file in return.
7. Run hasprus.exe again and go to the Appl y Li cense Update page. Click the browse
button next to the Update File field and select the .v2c file. Click Appl y Update. Now
your license server has the license files that can be detached to client PCs.

8. Go to the Sentinel HASP Admin Control Center web page http://localhost:1947.
9. Select Configuration from the left-hand panel and go to the Detachable Li censes
page. Select the Enabl e Detaching of Licenses option.

10. The Max. Detach Duration parameter defines how long the detachable licenses will
work. After the defined period, the license will be returned to the server automatically.
11. After making changes on the page, click Submit.
12. On the Access from Remote Clients page you can restrict which machines and
users can access the HASP License Manager.

13. Enter data in the following format: al l ow=[ i t em] and/or deny=[ i t em] , where item
is an IP address or machine name. The value of item can also be al l or none. Each
entry must be on a separate line. The entries are evaluated in the order in which they
are specified. Finally, click Submit.

FLOATING LICENSE SERVER
ON-DEMAND LICENSES (NEMO ANALYZE-
ONLY)
After installing Nemo Analyze, open a browser on the same computer you are
installing Nemo Anal yze and go to the Sentinel HASP Admin Control Center web
page http://localhost:1947.
You should see the floating license dongle available over the network in the Hasp Keys
and Products sections.
If you do not see the dongle in HASP control center, select Configuration from the left-
hand panel and go to the Access to Remote License Managers page. In Specify
Search Parameters field, enter the IP address of the license server. Click Submit and
wait for a few second. The dongle should appear in HASP Keys section. Check also
firewall settings of the license server.

1. Start Nemo Analyze. A dialog box informing that the key is not found appears. Enter
the IP address of the license server into Nemo Analyze. Nemo Analyze will now start
with the floating license.

DETACHED LICENSES
Detaching a License Online
The processes of retrieving and returning licenses from and to the license server are
called detach and attach, respectively. Licenses can be detached and attached in online
and offline modes.
In online mode the license server and the client PC (the one using the license) are
connected to the same network. First you will need to define some settings for the client
PC. Go to the Sentinel HASP Admin Control Center web page http://localhost:1947
1. Select Configuration from the left-hand panel and go to the Detachable
Licenses page. Select the Enable Detaching of Li censes option.

2. Go to the Access to Remote License Managers page. In Specify Search
Parameters field, enter the IP address or name of the license manager. Click
Submit.

3. Go to the HASP Keys page. On the list you should see a HASP SL Detachable key.

4. Go to the Products page. Click Detach.

5. On the Detach Li cense page, select Online as the detach method and specify a date
when the license will be returned to the server (attached). Finally click
Detach&Attach.

6. The License Detached Successfull y message is displayed. You can now start using
Nemo Outdoor or Nemo Analyze.

7. The License Information dialog in Nemo Outdoor and the Copy Protection tab on
the About Nemo Anal yze dialog in Nemo Analyze will display the expiration date for
the license.

Attaching a License Online
A license will expire after the date specified in the license server and it will be attached
automatically. You can also attach the license manually if you wish to return it before the
expiration date. Go to the Sentinel HASP Admin Control Center web page
http://localhost:1947
1. Go to the Products page. Click Cancel Li cense.

2. Click Cancel License.

3. The License Cancelled Successfully message is displayed.

Detaching a License Offline
The processes of retrieving and returning licenses from and to the license server are
called detach and attach, respectively. Licenses can be detached and attached in online
and offline modes.
In offline mode the license server and the client PC (the one using the license) are not

3. If this is the first time you are performing a license detach, you will need to identify
your client PC. Go to the Di agnostics page and click Create ID Fil e. An .id file is
generated.

4. Send the .id file to the license server administrator.
5. The administrator needs to go to the Sentinel HASP Admin Control Center web
page http://localhost:1947, Update/Attach page. Click the Choose File button and
select the .id file.

6. Click Appl y Fi le. Your update was applied successfully message is displayed.

7. Go to the Products page and click Detach.

8. Select the client PC as the recipient machine and set an expiration date for the
license. Click Detach.

9. On the License Detached Successfully page, save the detached license as an .h2r file
and send it to the client PC.

10. Once you receive the .h2r file, save the file on your client PC and go to the Sentinel
HASP Admin Control Center web page http://localhost:1947
11. Go to the Update/Attach page. Click the Choose File button and select the .h2r file.

12. Click Appl y Fi le. The Your update was applied successfully message is displayed.
You can now start using Nemo Outdoor.
13. The License Information dialog in Nemo Outdoor and the Copy Protection tab on
the About Nemo Anal yze dialog in Nemo Analyze will display the expiration date for
the license.

Attaching a License Offline
A license will expire after the date specified in the license server and it will be attached
automatically. You can also attach the license manually if you wish to return it before the
expiration date. Go to the Sentinel HASP Admin Control Center web page

1. Go to the Products page. Click Cancel Li cense.

2. Click Cancel Li cense.

3. The License Cancelled Successfull y message is displayed. A .r2h file is created.
Save the file and send it to the license server administrator.

4. The administrator needs to go to the Sentinel HASP Admin Control Center web
page http://localhost:1947, Update/Attach page. Click the Choose File button and
select the .r2h file.

5. Click Appl y Fi le. Your update was applied successfully message is displayed.

6. The license is now returned to the license server.
