Hard-to-Access Pipes Retrofitted In One of Worlds Biggest Hotels

Nu Flows innovative Nu Drain pipe lining system is the preferred rehabilitation solution for non-pressurized pipes, because of our unique abilities to line hard-to-access pipes and create custom liners. For this project inside one of the largest hotels in the world, a leaking pipe line that runs both horizontally and vertically and has two extremely challenging access points was rehabilitated by skilled Nu Flow technicians without causing disruptions to business. Project: Use Nu Drain to rehabilitate a hard-to-access drain line without causing destruction to the building. Customer: This prestigious hotel was the biggest hotel in the world when it opened and is currently listed in the worlds top 10 biggest hotels. Site: An ice machine that is located in the hotels back-ofhouse for its restaurants. System: An ice machines drain line is located inside walls and underneath concrete slab. The cast iron pipes have 3 and 4 diameters. Problem: Moisture rose through the concrete slab, so building engineers knew that the pipe was leaking. However, the failing pipe line is located near an elevator shaft in a hardto-access area. The customer did not want to have to cut open the walls and concrete slab in order to access the pipe. Circumvention: If the customer had chosen a traditional repipe instead of our innovative solution, there would have been a large amount of damage and disruption to the backof-house. Since the horizontal part of the pipe line is located beneath concrete, it would be a very noisy and messy process to jackhammer the concrete. Some food storage areas and offices would be relocated, and a staff elevator may have been shut down during the work. The lengthy repipe process would have caused a disturbance to the hotels staff. Solution: Nu Flow technicians used challenging access points to clean and retrofit this existing pipe line with the Nu Drain System. Using patented Pull-in-Place technology, our structural liner was installed in this vertical and horizontal pipe line. We did not have to create any destruction to the building in order to complete the job. The back-of-house remained functional during our work and there were no business disruptions.
