Persuasive Essay Final Essay What Gives us the Right to Cage Animals? !

The longer humans lived on earth, the more they thought they had control in

the planet. In the means of entertainment, zoos were created, and have drastically in read in number through the last few decades. However, is it righteous to cage animals for our own entertainment? I believe it is not; and establishing zoos shows care merely to money, but not for the animals. For the following reasons, establishing zoos is not only a selsh work, but it can be harmful, destructive, even brutal. ! Firstly, animals are naturally born to be free, and their instincts enforce that.

Captivating the animals captivates their right to show their inner reality. It locks their freedom, and wastes their identity. Animals were born to be wild; their instincts are to be used. However, free they can be, only on the land they were born to live in; for instance, there is no way you will se a cheetah run with it's speed of 114km/hr in a cage. Contradictorily, visitors to the zoo want to see the animals' wild nature. ! Second, captivity can be very harmful for an animal's health. Just like you

do, animals have souls; just as you would not like to be locked up, an animal would not. Living in a conned environment, the animals may suffer from boredom, depression, and stress, which can cause sickness or early deaths. Also to a visitor, the meaning of fun watching an animal will be deleted when it's weak or dead. ! Third, and most importantly, there have been many cases of injury to

humans because of the animals or the zoo owners. The protective cage has failed so many times to protect from a wild animals's rage or a human's curiosity. Some other zoos have unbelievable stories, such as a zoo in Sweden that has been reported to have the keepers "club the animals to death", and have their meat "fed to Polish park workers".Another example is a case in Pittsburgh Zoo in

Pennsylvania that caused the total closure of the zoo! The incident was that " a 2year old has been mauled to death by African dogs. ! You can conclude from the above now, that establishing a zoo can be very

harmful to unexpected extents. The whole idea breaks nature's rule of freedom. We visit the zoo and enjoy our time watching the animals shallowly, but we do not seek what is behind. I sincerely wish my humble essay can change or set your point of view toward the caging of animals. Written by: Rasha Raghei Class: 10A Date: January 17th 2013 Number of Words: 421
