Water extraction.
Fresh, clean water is a valuable resource. The extraction and proper planning for the supply are therefore a constant challenge. Efficient methods and the development of new sources, such as demineralised
seawater or aquifers (ground water lines), secure the user supply. This requires flexible systems which meet individual requirements.
Wells and sumps When pumping ground water out of drilled wells, the installation depth and productivity determine which pumps are used. The wide spectrum of Wilo borehole pumps range from 4 to 24 and are also matched to all common well diameters, guaranteeing optimal pumping operation.
Water control Water control/ground water drawdowns put a wide range of requirements on pumps and systems, for example, pumping off low water levels. Whether in water treatment plants or water reservoirs, with Wilo pumps, it is possible to realise purposeful and efficient solutions.
Water control
Lakes and dams Among other things, barrages are distinguished by the changing water level of natural lakes, which generally have small water level fluctuations. Wilo offers you solutions at the best possible efficiency to minimise energy costs and with high-grade materials for long, maintenance-free pump operation.
Ground and potable water Ground water is used in many different ways. After treating the raw water according to the requirements of potable and process water, it is conducted to water reservoirs or the potable water system. For this, Wilo offers pumps with a wide range of motor powers, delivery heads and volume flows. In addition, our borehole pumps can be installed horizontally as well as vertically in basins and tanks.
Rivers and oceans River water and seawater require the use of resistant materials due to contaminants, sand content and salinity. Wilo meets these requirements by using the most modern materials and advanced technology. Materials, such as Duplex or Ni-Al bronze and coatings such as Ceram withstand corrosion from aggressive or abrasive fluids and guarantee the longest service life.
Rainwater Water is becoming more and more scarce. Only a small portion (less than 1 %) of all freshwater resources is available as surface water in lakes and rivers. This is alarming just from an ecological point of view, and requires that this vital resource be handled responsibly. Moreover, the shortage also has economic consequences, of course, which can be seen from the continuous increase in the price of water. Wilo offers innovative water supply solutions with rainwater utilisation systems.

Wilo-Sub TWI borehole pumps made of stainless steel Easy installation Reduced weight Vertical or horizontal installation possible, as needed
Wilo-Sub TWI 4", 6", 8" and 10" Optimised hydraulics with high efficiency Wear-resistant, even in the case of high sand content up to 50 mg/l Extensive bearing pump program (4" and 6")
Wilo-Sub borehole pumps made of stainless steel The Wilo-Sub TWI 4", 6", 8" and 10" product series include the new borehole pump range with a stainless steel design from Wilo. In addition to water supply, this series made of stainless steel is suitable for many other applications. Thanks to the extensive bearing pump program in the range of 4" and 6", they are always quickly available. Wilo-Sub TWI pumps can be installed vertically or horizontally, depending on what's needed. Last but not least, the reduced weight ensures easy handling and installation. Thanks to the stable design, all units are very wearresistant, even for high sand content up to 50 mg/l. Long-lasting durability and high operating reliability are then guaranteed. In addition to quality and safety, the cost factor is also decisive: With optimised hydraulics and increased efficiency and the option that all pumps of this series are suitable for frequency converters, they help lower the operating costs. Additional advantages, such as the extensive range of accessories and a standardised hydraulics design in AISI 304, round off the highquality and versatile product portfolio of the Wilo-Sub TWI series.
Wilo-EMU borehole pumps EMU technology Wilo borehole pumps of the Wilo-EMU NK, K and KM series provide the optimal solution for sophisticated tasks in water extraction and water control. These single- or multistage centrifugal pumps are used directly in the fluid. In addition to the slender design, these high-quality units convince with their high efficiency. The exact trimming of the impeller diameter allows the desired flow capacity to be exactly defined and, with this, cost-saving and energy-efficient solutions for nearly any application are possible. The selection criteria here are the best-possible efficiency for minimising energy costs and the use of resistant materials for long and maintenance-free pump operation. In order to guarantee the highest possible operating reliability, every single impeller stage has a standard slide bearing. The extensive product range goes from 6" to 24" and beyond. These pumps are suspended vertically on the ascending pipe, but can also be installed horizontally in lakes, basins and rivers and are ideally suited for long-term operation.

Wilo-EMU K 127 P-1 Standard-equipped with two mechanical seals for high operating reliability In various material versions As modernisation or replacement for obsolete shaft pump stations
Wilo-EMU polder pumps The polder pump combines the technical advantages of a submersiblemotor pump with the options for using a conventional shaft pump. The pump was specially developed for use in water purification and irrigation plants and for pumping out low water levels. They are characterised by high efficiency, operating reliability and are maintenance-free. The installation is easy and low-cost, even in the case of older systems, for example, as a modernisation and replacement for obsolete shaft pump stations, because the pumps are flange-mounted directly to the existing pipe.
The set-up is equivalent to an inverted borehole pump with the pump part and suction strainer in the lower area and an overflow-proof motor above the hydraulics. Suctioning via a suction strainer and an integrated intake guide with an anti-vortex plate allows a very low drawdown of the water level of just a few centimeters. Wilo-EMU polder pumps are available in cast iron or bronze/stainless steel. This wear-resistant version also allows it to be used in contaminated or corrosive fluids. The performance range lies between 501200 m3/h volume flow and delivery heads from 170 12 meters.

Wilo-EMU KM 1300 Borehole pump made of bronze for seawater use High flow capacity for small well diameters No external cooling jacket necessary thanks to internal motor cooling
Innovative motor technology The newly designed CoolAct motor series with internal active cooling and a performance range from 75 kW to 630 kW (50 Hz) allows the maximum output power for a minimum motor diameter. Compared to conventional motors, the units with CoolAct technology provide up to 25 % more power and a higher power density for the same package lengths. This is made possible by internal active closed-circuit cooling. Thanks to a constantly driven impeller on the motor shaft, the cooling fluid is conducted directly through the bearing and winding. This way, the heat given off by the motor can be optimally absorbed and be passed on to the circulating fluid via the outer motor jacket in a defined way. The small installation diameter also reduces the investment and construction costs of wells and water pumping systems. The optimal efficiency also ensures lower operating costs.
The new 10", 12" and 16" submersible motor series is available in 2- and 4pole versions, 50/60 Hz with voltages from 200 1000 V and up to 6600 V for 16". They can be set up vertically and sometimes even horizontally.

Special materials The constantly increasing requirements due to corrosive or abrasive components in the fluid require innovative solutions. Therefore, high-grade materials, such as duplex and Ni-Al bronze or other various stainless steels are used, for example. Duplex/super-duplex steel l These non-rusting duplex steels are recommended in acidic fluids, seawater and brackish water, as well as in saline and mixed salt solutions. Ni-Al bronze Compared to G-CuSn10, Ni-Al bronze has a lower density, but has higher strength and fracture strain. Used in seawater, the material shows very good corrosion resistance thanks to the combination of the alloy element Cu and the resistance of the oxidic Al protective film.
Coatings The unique Ceram coating from Wilo can be used for borehole pumps on the inner and outer surfaces of pumps and pump components which are exposed to aggressive fluids. This solvent-free 2-component coating in the Ceram C0 and C1 versions can be used for hydraulics larger than 8" and can be applied later on all pump components which are in stock. Thanks to the high wet adhesion of 15 N/mm2, high abrasive strength is guaranteed. NEW Ceram CT This coating with KTW approval (KTW = official German recommendation concerning the levels of polymers in potable water) was specially designed for borehole technology to additionally increase the efficiency. With a thickness of about 200 micrometers, Ceram CT is only applied to the impeller blades and inner contour, as well as inside the stage housing. The efficiency can be increased by these coatings by about 2 % of the total efficiency. The investment payback period can sometimes be as less than 40 days.
Ceram coating Increased resistance to abrasion Corrosion-resistant to chemical attacks Later coating/repairs possible For a longer service life and reduced maintenance requirements
Ceram CT coating For increasing the efficiency and reducing energy costs KTW approval Better properties against iron clogging Investment payback in a very short period of time

Raw water distribution A reliable water supply is the basis for the functioning of social structures. There are high demands on pumps and systems in places to where the vital resource water has to be transported and where it is needed and consumed. Wilo has a lot of experience and efficient technology to guarantee that water is reliably distributed over long distances at the required pressure.
Sprinkling and irrigation To lessen the disadvantage of insufficient water supplies or to make use of the advantage of nearby reservoirs is possible with modern pump technology from Wilo. Our borehole pumps are used for sprinkling and irrigation, like in agriculture, for commercial purposes or for city/public parks.
Pressure boosting systems Supplying water via pressure boosting systems has long since been one of the core competences of Wilo. Our multifaceted systems can be adapted to a wide range of requirements so that even complex water circuits with a multitude of consumers can be optimally supplied at any time: even at staggering heights. This way, the largest pressure shroud pumps manage delivery heads of up to 600 meters.
Fire protection and fire extinguishing technology Different building situations, combined with different regional regulations, require specific solutions. Fire extinguishing systems can be individually assembled with high-quality Wilo components. Profit from our knowhow and our highly efficient pump technology.
Pressure boosting
Pressure boosting Efficient water supplies increasingly require the utilisation of intelligent installations made up of optimally matched components.Systems like Wilo pressure boosting systems, the main component of which is the new Wilo-Helix high-pressure multistage centrifugal pump. The pumps of the Helix series are used in public and municipal facilities and impressively show what one can do under high pressure.
Rainwater utilisation Increasing water costs are also noticeable in public and municipal facilities. It's about time an innovative approach to water supply be taken: with rainwater utilisation systems from Wilo. A large portion of the incidental water requirement can be very easily covered by rainwater utilisation. This is good for the environment and the budget.

Wilo-SCP High volume flow high efficiency Low NPSH thanks to a dual flow impeller High reliability on each drive end
Wilo split case pumps For maximum capacity. The main characteristic of these single- or dual-stage low-pressure centrifugal pumps with axially divided housings are low NPSH values. Thanks to the double suctioning, the impeller is hydraulically balanced, so that the axial thrust is minimised and the pump reliability is considerably increased. All standard pumps are generally equipped with impellers and stationary wear rings made of bronze. To make maintenance easier, the upper housing part can be very easily dismantled. This way, one gets direct access to all rotating parts without having to dismantle the pressure or suction lines or the drive. To position the components during assembly, all standard pumps come standardequipped with stationary wear rings. The minimised shaft distortion due to intermediate bearings means fewer vibrations and, to avoid premature wear in the mechanical seal, all pumps come equipped with a rinsing device. Wear-resistant 4- and 6-pole motors, the shaft sealing with mechanical seal or stuffing box packing, as well as highquality materials, guarantee maximum operating reliability. Wilo-SCPs are available as a special version with a volume flow of up to 17,000 m3/h and motors with special voltages, such as 6000 V.
Wilo norm pumps The norm pump series is suitable for clean to slightly contaminated water in circulation, transfer and pressure-boosting applications. Here, the low-pressure centrifugal pumps achieve delivery heads of up to 150 m and volume flows of up to 3000 m3/h. Generously dimensioned roller bearings as well as high-quality sealing systems, such as the Burgmann mechanical seal with tapered gasket chamber, guarantee a high degree of operating reliability. To reduce maintenance-related downtimes, all pumps can be equipped with a spacer coupling. With this, there is direct access to the hydraulics without having to dismantle the pipe or the drive. The standardisation of the main components guarantees better exchangeability. In addition, all pumps from the Wilo norm pump series have a hydraulically balanced impeller.

Wilo-Comfort CO-/COR-MVI.../CC Fully automatic water supply and pressure boosting Heavy-duty installation thanks to the stainless steel high-pressure multistage centrifugal pumps of the MVI series Completely pre-assembled and ready for connection
Wilo-Economy/Comfort/ComfortVario pressure boosting systems Depending on demand, Wilo offers pressure boosting systems with different performance values. They each are made up of several single pumps connected in parallel and a matching electronic control unit the CC controller. Intelligent programming guarantees rolling and intermittent operation of multipump systems according to their actual power requirement. The operation of the CC controller is possible with or without a frequency converter for controlling the respective baseload pump. In addition, it has extensive and flexible remote communication options. This makes easy remote control and system diagnostics from a GSM modem and cell phone possible on up to four receivers. All Wilo pressure boosting systems have one thing in common: They are highly compact, and very space-efficient. That makes it much easier to carry out installation and any servicing work which may be required. Wilo supplies all pressure boosting systems completely preassembled and ready for connection. Wilo-Multivert MVIS With the Wilo-Multivert MVIS, Wilo is the first and only provider worldwide who has been able to utilise glandless technology for water supply and pressure boosting in large buildings. The main advantage compared to the formerly usual glanded pumps: the extremely quiet operating noise. For the Wilo-Multivert MVIS the quietest pump in its class this is just 40 dB (A). This is about the same as the gentle rustling of the leaves on a tree.
Wilo pressure shroud pumps Pressure shroud pumps are used for pressure boosting in supply and circulation systems and provide sufficient pressure in high-rises, areas built at higher altitudes and plants. They can be installed vertically, and even horizontally up to a certain number of stages. In the case of vertical installation, the pump system is to be accommodated on as small an area as possible. In the case of a horizontal installation position, the entire pipe installation lies in one plane, because Wilo pressure shroud pumps are flange-mounted directly in the mains supply line or are connected to a bypass pipe. Wilo pumps can be produced according to the specifications of the local conditions. When installed directly in the pipe, the pump can also be equipped with a annular suction valve, making free flow possible even when the pump is switched off.

Low energy consumption. Advanced, conscientious cost planning is the focus of the newly constructed Wilo-Helix high-pressure multistage centrifugal pumps. They are used in the water supply and ensure constant pressure all the way up to the largest heads. Thanks to the interaction of new pump design, high-efficiency hydraulics and energy-saving EFF1 motors, the pumps of the Helix series consume about 15 % less energy than standard pumps with conventional motors and hydraulics systems. Low life cycle costs Thanks to their low energy consumption, Helix high-pressure multistage centrifugal pumps function, on the one hand, very economically. On the other hand, extraneous operating costs, which include installation, maintenance and repair costs, are exceptionally low with the Helix series. The reason for this is to be found in innovative design solutions and the use of high-quality, low-wear materials. Helix high-pressure multistage centrifugal pumps are also less prone to malfunctions and have a long service life, which means that the cost balance over the entire life cycle of the equipment, taking into account all of the relevant factors including such things as purchasing and disposal costs is significantly better. Wilo-Helix high-pressure multistage centrifugal pumps High energy savings Low maintenance costs Low life cycle cost
Easy installation and quick maintenance Helix high-pressure multistage centrifugal pumps can be installed in two different positions, depending on the installation situation: frontal or rotated by 90 (single connection or integration in a pressure boosting system) Rotatable and adjustable loose flanges can be set to any counter flange position. User-friendly control, thanks to "red button" technology makes it possible to control all functions with a single button. A significant advantage of the Helix high-pressure multistage centrifugal pump is the X-seal cartridge system: It is easy to access, thus ensuring an extreme reduction in the time required for maintenance work. The cover is easy to dismantle. If the cartridge system needs to be replaced, then the replacement time is only around 1520 min even for the largest pumps in the series and thus only a third of the time normally required. By removing the spacer coupling ("spacer" function) for pump models that have motors starting from 5.5 kW, space can be made in a simple fashion this makes it possible to replace the mechanical seal without having to remove the heavy motor. The exchange becomes easier this way.

Sprinkling and irrigation With the Wilo-Sub TWI series, Wilo offers high-performance pumps for commercial and municipal water supplies. These high-quality pumps made of stainless steel are especially suitable for applications involving pumping water out of boreholes or rainwater storage for the purpose of sprinkling and irrigation. The entire Wilo-Sub range is convincing with its easy installation, maintenance and operation. Rainwater utilisation. The sensible utilisation of rainwater with specially designed systems is inexpensive and is good for the environment. A rainwater utilisation system combines modern technology with ecological awareness. Thanks to intelligent systems, rainwater is being utilised reliably and with no hygienic concerns for sprinkling/irrigation, subordinate cleaning purposes and other applications in the non-potable water area. After all: Rainwater is excellently suited for irrigation and cleaning, since it is especially lime-free and is therefore better for absorbing mineral salts and active detergents.
The Wilo-RainSystem AF 400 is a ready-to-connect rainwater utilisation system with a double pump, including a booster pump. A feeding pump from the Wilo portfolio is for supplying rainwater fully automatically from rainwater storage or tanks. The system has a large hybrid tank with a 400-liter capacity. When there is little rainfall, this is supplied by means of automatic, needs-based replenishment with potable water from the mains system. This way, there is always a sufficient water supply. The fully electronic control unit controls the operation of the entire system and ensures maximum operating reliability. The system separation guarantees the complete separation of the rainwater installation from the potable water supply in accordance with EN 1717. For a much higher demand, such as fire water, sprinkling, process water provision or for rainwater retention, small pressure boosting systems in combination with Wilo system accessories (like an atmospherically vented tank) are still suitable. Using with multistage high-pressure centrifugal pumps guarantee maximum operating reliability with up to 6 individual pumps, as well as high efficiency, and offers two adjustable pressure levels for various applications.

Wilo-EMU D 500 borehole pump for sprinkler systems Thanks to CoolAct motor technology, no extra cooling jacket is necessary Low wear thanks to 4-pole motors With VdS approval
Pumps for sprinkler systems Sprinkler systems are automatic fire extinguishing systems which are used for preventive fire protection in special buildings, such as high-rises, assembly halls, underground garages, etc. Wilo offers an extensive product range for sprinkler pumps. These borehole pumps with VdS approval are used to pump fire water in sprinkler systems. They are usually installed horizontally in supply basins. Vertical use in wells or sumps, as well as dry well installation (with pressure shroud) are also possible. Wilo-EMU D 500 The VdS-certified borehole pump, Wilo-EMU D 500, with CoolAct motor technology was developed to expand the portfolio in the area of sprinkler pumps with regard to high volume flows and large heads. Large sprinkler systems, which up till now had to be equipped with several units, can now be operated with just one pump. Since no external cooling jacket is necessary, the pump can be installed taking up even less space.
Fire protection and fire extinguishing technology Fire protection and fire extinguishing systems are only used in the event of a fire. Systems can be individually assembled with high-quality Wilo components. For example, with a fully automatic water-supply unit in a heavyduty system made up of a high-pressure multistage centrifugal pump and standardised motors. When planning, constructing and commissioning fire extinguishing systems for connection to a potable water installation, it must be made sure that the systems are separated by a so-called atmospherically vented tank.
