Rhythm of Prayer 1

Blessing the Lord and Blessing our communities

This is the 2011 edition of the Rhythm of Prayer we have adopted at the Cornwall House of PrayerHebron This publication is at proofing stage. We have adopted a daily rhythm of prayer following our visit to Ffald-y-Brenin Christian Retreat and Prayer Centre in South Wales, where God graciously spoke to us and reminded us of the call on our lives to build and establish a house of prayer in Cornwall. We learnt and adopted the Ffald-y-Brenin rhythm of prayer for ourselves, and some of what you find herein is with grateful thanks for the inspiration we received whilst there. Whilst there God spoke very clearly about writing a rhythm of prayer for a House of Prayer that would be called Hebron (the land that Caleb inherited). Our rhythm is slightly different in that we have a seven day cycle, of praying at four set times four per day. The House of Prayer will be open for continuous prayer to be used by anyone who are welcome to join in these times of prayer. There will also be regular soaking prayer sessions open to visitors. Please check out our website for how you can join with us. www.cornwall-houseofprayer.com

A song for reflection You laid aside

You laid aside Your majesty, gave up everything for me Suffered at the hands of those You had created You took all my guilt and shame When You died and rose again Now today You reign In heaven and earth exalted I really want to worship You my Lord You have won my heart and I am Yours Forever and ever, I will love You You are the only one who died for me Gave Your life to set me free So I lift my voice to You in adoration
Noel Richards 1985 Kingsway Thank you Music

Open Prayer In peace we will lie down and sleep; For You alone, Lord, make us dwell in safety Abide with us, Lord Jesus For the night is at hand and the day is now past As the night watch looks for the morning So do we look for You, O Christ The Lord bless us and watch over us; the Lord make His face to shine upon us and be gracious to us; the Lord look kindly on us and give us His peace. Introduction
Will you not revive us again, that Your people may rejoice in You? Psalm 85:6 For this is what the high and lofty One saysHe who lives forever, whose name is holy: I live in a high and holy place, but also with him who is contrite and lowly in spirit, to revive the spirit of the lowly and to revive the heart of the contrite... Isaiah 57:15 This booklet contains the Rhythm of Daily Prayers we are using at the Cornwall House of PrayerHebron. We pray that you catch the heartbeat of the Father, and be blessed by His presence as you join us in this beat. Our style is structured and reflective with plenty of space for the Lord to meet with us. There is some singing within the rhythm you are welcome to read these songs if you are uncomfortable singing. The Psalms and Scripture readings we use follow no set pattern but are normally sequential within a particular book. Occasionally the Lord leads us to look at passages on certain themes and when this is happening guidance sheets will be available. Each day has a loose theme which God has laid on our hearts. They are to designed to come in an opposite spirit to the world and communities around us. Caleb had to drive out three giants from Hebron to claim His inheritance and I believe the Lord has called us to do similar by praying and blessing in this way. We have used a mixture of prayers, songs and poetry from numerous sources. Our scripture passages may be from different versions each day to help us reflect on the meanings of passages with which we may be familiar.

Declarative Prayer Father, I thank You for the spirit of revival that will rest on me, God! Father, I thank You that as I call upon Your name, You hear my cry and You awaken me. Thank You, Father, that where I feel crushed and broken, You revive me. Let me know Your touch and let me live in Your presence. Revive me, God. Amen
Rachel Hickson, Stepping Stones to Freedom Devotional

Open Prayer May the Lord prosper your soul as you sleep May the Lord prosper your spirit as you rest May the Lord prosper your body as you lie down and when you awake The Lord bless us and watch over us; the Lord make His face to shine upon us and be gracious to us; the Lord look kindly on us and give us His peace. Amen

Hebron Anchor Points

We have adopted the principle of anchor points from Ffald y Brenin, and these can be found throughout our rhythm denoted by a picture of an anchor. We have however used alternative scripture versions for the same anchor point to slow us down and cause us to reflect on the meaning of the things we say. The anchor points are: MorningMatthews account of the Lords Prayer MiddayPsalm 46Be still and know that I am God EveningA prayer of inheritance Night Time - Aaronic Blessing

A poem for reflection

We all want happiness and dread the thought of rain. When the sun fails to shine, we worry and complain. We forget that God above is infinitely wise, and sometimes our ails are blessings in disguise. For if we're always happy filled with sunshine and cheer, our hearts would hold no mercy for others who shed tears. So when trouble comes knocking, remember to stay strong. Rainbows always follow the storm and dark clouds never stay long.

Open Prayer Bless the dreams of all those that lead us spiritually and politically Give them peace as they sleep and speak to them in their dreams Bless the dreams of all those around us Give them hope, vision and revelation as they sleep

The Lord bless us and watch over us; the Lord make His face to shine upon us and be gracious to us; the Lord look kindly on us and give us His peace. Amen

Proclamation for Gods Protection No weapon that is formed against us shall prosper and every tongue which rises against us in judgement we do condemn. This is our heritage as servants of the Lord and our righteousness is from You, O Lord of Hosts. If there are those who have been speaking or praying against us, or seeking harm or evil to us we forgive them. Having forgiven them we bless them in the Name of the Lord. NOW WE DECLARE, O Lord, that You and You alone are our God, and besides You there is no othera just God and a Saviour, the Father, the Son, And the Spirit, - and we worship You! We submit ourselves afresh to You tonight in unreserved obedience. Having submitted to you Lord, we do as Your Word directs. We resist the devil; all His pressures, his attacks, his deceptions, - every instrument or agent he would seek to use against us. We do not submit! We resist him, drive him from us and exclude him from us in the Name of Jesus. Specifically we reject and repel; Infirmity, pain, infection, inflammation, malignancies, allergies, viruses, and every form of witchcraft. FINALLY, Lord, we thank you through the sacrifice of Jesus on the cross, we have passed out from under the curse and entered into the blessing of Abraham whom you blessed in all things; Exaltation, Health, Reproductiveness, Prosperity, Victory, and Gods favour. AMEN

Jehovah Jirehthe Lord who seesthe Lord our provider Jehovah we thank You that You see all our needs, the needs of our spirit, soul and body and You have the resources to meet our every need. Lord You have given me everything I have, including every second of my life, every breath I take, every beat of the heart. Without Your grace towards me I would be truly in poverty in every area of my life. Help me to see Your incredible provisions and to receive them with a glad heart to use for Your desires. In You alone shall I prosper in all that I do and have enough of everything I need and more besides, to be able to give away the abundance of my loving Heavenly Father.

Have you not known? Have you not heard? The everlasting God, the Lord, The Creator of the ends of the earth, neither faints nor is weary. There is no searching of His understanding. He gives power to the weak, And to those who have no might He increases strength. Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall. BUT those who wait on the Lord SHALL renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not be faint.

Dear Lord of Mercy and Father of Comfort, You are the One we turn to for help in moments of weakness and times of need. We ask you to be with Your servants in this illness. Psalm 107:20 says that you send out your Word and heal. So then, please send your healing Word to your servants. In the name of Jesus, drive out all infirmity and sickness, in the Name of Jesus, we confess Your Word concerning health and healing. As we do, we believe that Your Word will not return to You void, but will accomplish what it says. In the Name of Jesus, we believe that we are healed according to 1 Peter 2:24. Your Word says that Jesus Himself took our infirmities and bore our sicknesses (Mat. 8:17). Therefore, with great boldness and confidence, we stand on the authority of Your Word and declare that we are redeemed from the curse of sickness. We refuse to tolerate its symptoms. Now Father, we believe Your Word that says, The angel of the Lord encamps round about us and delivers us from every evil work. No evil shall befall us, no plague or calamity shall come near our dwelling. We confess that the Word abides in us and it is life and medicine to our flesh. The law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus operates in us, making us free from the law of sin and death. We hold fast to our confession of Your Word and we stand immovable, knowing that health and healing are ours NOW, in Jesus' Name. Amen

You would have me take it, not with resignation, but with joy, not with absence of murmur, but with song of praise Teach me that your will is love, teach me that your love is wise. Guide me not blindfolded, but with open eyes . Give me the blessedness of the man whose delight is in Your law, who can tell of Your statutes rejoicing the heart. I shall obey Your will in perfect freedom when I can say: Your Spirit is good. George Matheson

Shout for joy to the LORD , all the earth. Worship the LORD with gladness; come before him with joyful songs. Know that the LORD is God. It is he who made us, and we are his; we are his people, the sheep of his pasture. Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise; give thanks to him and praise his name. For the LORD is good and his love endures forever; his faithfulness continues through all generations.

But I hope continually, and will praise You yet more and more. My mouth shall tell of Your righteousness and Your salvation all the day, for I do not know their limits. I will go in the strength of the Lord God; I will make mention of Your righteousness, of Yours only. O God, You have taught me from my youth; and to this day I declare Your wondrous works. Thou, O Lord, canst transform my thorn into a flower. And I want my thorn transformed into a flower. Job got the sunshine after the rain, but has the rain been all waste? Job wants to know, I want to know, if the shower had nothing to do with the shining. And Thou canst tell meThy cross can tell me. Thou hast crowned Thy sorrow. Be this my crown, O Lord. I only triumph in Thee when I have learned the radiance of the rain.

We bless the people of our community where we live in the Name of the Lord. We bless your marriages that they may be strong and whole. We bless the relationships between each marriage partner that it may be loving and forgiving, merciful and strong. We bless every intergenerational relationship within each household that there may be peace and love and understanding flowing between each one. For every household we bless your wealth that you may have plenty to replace poverty. We bless you to have enough to live on and enough to give to others. We bless the work of your hands that whatever you turn your hand to which is wholesome, may be profitable. We bless the crops and grass of the fields, gardens and allotments, and the seas and the earth, that they may be strong, abundant and nutritious throughout the year. We bless the flocks, the herds, the fish, that they may be well and strong and may multiply. Pause . And may the favour of the Lord our God be upon us; Establish for us the work of our hands; Establish the work of our hands Amen
