Darul Ifta Jamia tul Ulum ul Islamiyya Allama Muhammad Yusuf Binori Town, Karachi

(Arabic) The references which Maulana Nomani has quoted from Shiite books, I have myself read them from the original books. (Besides these references) there are scores of excerpts and passages present in their books which very clearly proof. i) ii) That they regard all of the Companies of the Holy Prophet (Arabic), hypocrites and apostates. They do not regard this Quran to be the one as revealed by Allah, instead believe that the Quran which was (originally) revealed by Allah is with their absent Imam in a cave, and that the present Quran has been changed and altered, and major portions of it have been deleted, and a lot has been added. The Holy Quran is an imperative part of our faith, Shiites be it of present or past without any difference of opinion (except four) believe in the tampering and alteration of the Quran. Furthermore, there are more than two thousand narrations present in their books in support of this belief. Shiites believe that the Quran has been tampered via i) Deletion (of words, phrases) ii) Addition (of words, phrases) iii) Certain (words, verses) have been changed iv) The alphabets have been changed v) Order of verses, ayats and alphabets have been changed This belief vis--vis the Holy Quran has been spelt out very clearly in Kitab-ur-Rauza of Al Jami-ul-Kafi, Mullah Baqir Majlisis Jala-ul-Uyun, Haqq-ul-Yaqeen, Hayat-ul-Qulub, Zaadul-Maad, and Hussain bin Muhammad Taqi Noori Tabrasis Faslul Khitab Fi Asbat-eeTehrif-e-Kitab-e-rabbil Arbab (which is of 398 pages), Tabrasi has, according to his opinion, proven the Quran to be tampered, taking recourse to scored of narrations (of the Innocent Imam). iii) Shiites like Qadianis belief in the lexical meaning of Khatam-e-Nubuwat, and the Holy Prophet (Arabic) to be the Last of the Prophets, but in reality they have concocted the belief of Imamate which is in direct conflict with Prophet Hood. Their Imam is similar in characteristics to the Islamic perception of a Prophet. Imam just like a Prophet is ordered by Allah, is infallible, his obedience is obligatory, he has the power to declare anything Haram and Halal, and that the twelve Imams are superior to all the Prophets of Allah. (Usul-e-Kafi, Introduction of Tafsir Miraat-ul-Anwar)

After (the coming of light of) these three beliefs, there remains no doubt in the fact that this sect is outside the fold of Islam. If one looks closely, it would dawn upon us that Shiism is a totally different religion when compared with Islam, so much so that its testification of faith (Shahada) to manners of burial, and everything else is at odds with Islam. Therefore Ithna Ashariyya Shiites are without any doubt infidels, and Ulama have in every epoch regarded them as such. But i) ii) iii) This Fatwa was never published The Shiite religion was concealed through Taqiyya and Kitman With the ascendance of Khomeini, the Ithna Ashariyya Shiites have by and large propagandized their religion and its publications. Khomeini who regards himself as the vicegerent of the absent Imam believed his right to spread the Shiite faith without any barriers of deceit and dissimilation.

Maulana Nomani has with great hardwork compiled this Istifta, from which it becomes clear that in every period of time, Ithna Ashariyya Shiites have been declared infidels. After the passages and excerpts which have been enumerated in this Istifta, there remains no room for their comments. Nevertheless, certain passages are being quoted here i) (Arabic) And in Mawahib, a narration reads that Imam Malik in explanation of the words (Arabic) declared Non-Muslims anyone who bores hatred for the Holy Companions (Arabic). It can be said without any doubt that Shiites hate the Holy Companions, and whoever does this, he is an infidel. Numerous Ulama have endorsed and acquiesced to (this verdict of) Imam Malik. And (it is written) in Bahr, that a person was mentioned in front of Imam Malik who used to criticize the Holy Companions. At this Imam Malik recited this verse (Arabic) and said Anyone who woke up in the morning in such a state in his heart, there is hatred for the Holy Companions (Arabic), he would come in the domain of this ayat, and this verse in particular is related to the Kufr/Takfeer of Shiites. And a similar statement can be deduced from the statement of Hazrat Aisha (Arabic) which Hakim has narrated, and endorsed it that regarding the verse (Arabic), Hazrat Aisha said They were ordered to pray for forgiveness of the Holy Companions, but instead they started to abuse them. (Ruh-ul-Maani, Chapter 26, pg 128). ii) After mentioning this Quranic verse, It is relevant to write whatever has been recorded in Ahadith and by the Hadith collectors regarding the status of the Holy Companions (Arabic) Allama Aalusi while explaining the verse of Surah Al-Fath, chapter 26 writes,

(Arabic) i) Narrated Abu Said: The Prophet said, "Do not abuse my companions for if any one of you spent gold equal to Uhud (in Allah's Cause) it would not be equal to a Mud or even a half Mud spent by one of them." (Sahih Bukhari, Volume 5, Book 57, Number 22) Hazrat Ibn Umar narrates that the Holy Prophet (Arabic) is reported to have said when you find some people reviling any of my Companions, say to him, May Allah curse you and your mischief (Al Tirmidhi, - Mishkat Pg 554) All these arguments prove that the Holy Companions (Arabic) must be considered just and upright. When Allah All-Mighty has Himself termed them just and upright, then there is no need to seek justification or endorsement of the Holy Companions (Arabic) from anyone else. Had Allah and His Prophet not testified to their uprightedness, even then their acts, Jihad, Hijrat, helping the Holy Prophet (Arabic) and their spending in Allahs way, and sacrificing the lives of their parents and children, and their being honorable in religion, and their faith being at a pinnacle is enough for their being upright. They are higher in stature as to all of people who came afterwards, and are just and equitable as compared to them, and this is the religion of all the Ulama and of men who are reliable. Furthermore, it is recorded as per the narration of Abu Zara Razi (that when you see anyone criticizing any of the Holy Companions (Arabic) , then be assured that he (that person) is a Zindiq because the Holy Prophet (Arabic) is truthful, and the Quran is truthful, and whatever the Holy Prophet has brought that is truth, and that all this has been delivered to us via the Holy Companions (Arabic) and they (those who criticize the Holy Companions (Arabic)) want to argue over our religions witnesses, so that the Quran and Sunnah become null and void.
