The American Revolution

The American Revolution was not revolutionary, a revolution is a fast big and an evolution is a slower change that is still very powerful. The effects of the revolution still show today just as they showed two hundred years ago just like they will show 1,000 years from now. The revolution started when the first rebellious act was performed through the empowering win at Yorktown, when slavery was abolished, when women got the right to vote, the changes that happen today and the changes that will happen. People have felt freer to make their own economic decisions whether it affected just themselves or others as well. In the document An Economic Interpretation of the Constitution of the United States by Charles A. Beard in 1913 the members of the constitutional convention not only protected the personalty but also helped the less wealthy gain personalty. In the document Divorce and the Changing Status of Women in the Eighteenth Century Massachusetts by Nancy F. Cott in 1976 this document shows that people felt more free to divorce despite the financial impacts. In the North West Ordinance of 1787 the Americans felt comfortable enough in their nations finances to give the Indians a share of their land. The politics and government of America has greatly changed from the titles of leaders to what types of candidates were elected, and the issues that the government had. In Government by the People: The American Revolution and the Democratization of the Legislatures developed by Jackson Turner Main in 1966 shows that in 1765 very few moderate representatives were being elected in the colonies, but twenty years later in 1785 the majority of the representatives had moderate wealth (62%). That tells that the people started to elect representatives that represent themselves and know what life is like for them. In Andre Basetts painting La Destruction de la Statue Royale a Nouvelle he shows workers pulling down a statue of their king with bystanders gathered near them to give their support the shadows of the workers showed that they pulled down the statue in broad daylight and that tells that they were showing a clear act of rebellion to show them wishing to over through their previous government. The Unanimous Declaration of the Thirteen Colonies by congress in 1776 states that the governments job is to secure the god given rights of the people and the government has no power without the support of the people after inflicting a long train of abuses and usurpations it is the duty of the people to overthrow such government. So the people felt that it was their duty to overthrow the British government after enduring those injustices. There were various social changes especially after and during big events. In the picture La Destruction de la Statue Royale a Nouvelle by Andre Basset crowds of people gather around

the workers pulling down the statue of their king and give support to that rebellious act that was a step towards the overthrowing of the British government. The crowds were wealthier people, the evolution started to bring people to together no matter what their financial class is. In the picture Billiards in Hanover-Town by Benjamin Henry Latrobe wealthy men are playing billiards by choice with poorer men. That shows that the classes feel more comfortable socializing together. In the United States Constitution it says that all U.S citizens are allowed to vote so, it doesnt matter how many friends you have or how rich you are and that made our people have more equality than they did in their previous form of government. The government, politics, and social and cultural lives of the people of the United States will continue to expand. Our nation has had various changes since the separation of the colonies from England whether these changes did not happen overnight or within days after the war against England was won it happened months years decades afterwards and they will happen in the future so no it is not the American Revolution it is the American evolution.
