PATROL IMPORTANT DATES: CAMP ST. CROIX FIELD TRIP

All students who signed up for
Patrol will be trained in by the
County Sheriff on Tuesday,
September 15 at 10:15am. Patrols
will be divided into teams and the
schedules will be posted at school
and on the class website.
We have set up a website for all the 5th grade classes this year.
We had a wonderful time at Camp St.
 9/23 – 5th Grade Curriculum Night
Croix on Thursday. Students got to know
6:00 – 7:00pm
each other better as they participated in fun
 10/14 – No School (Staff Development) team-building games and activities.
 10/15 – No School (MEA) Students did a great job on the climbing
 10/16 – No School (MEA) wall, not only reaching their own goals but
cheering on their classmates as well. We
look forward to going back to camp in
CLASS WEBSITE: November. Forms and information will be
coming towards the end of September.

WHAT HAVE WE BEEN UP TO?

This week we spent a lot of time

getting to know one another and working to
establish a positive community. We completed
activities and games that helped us learn each
other’s names. We learned that we will have to
respect one another and work together as a
team to have a good year.
We also learned many important rules
and procedures for our school and classroom.
We were reminded of how to walk in the
hallway and be patient when we wait in line
for lunch. We will continue practicing these DAILY SCHEDULE
things as we go on with the year. 9:15-9:25 Morning Work
We also had our first field trip this 9:25-10:10 Specialist
10:10-10:25 Morning Meeting
week. We had a lot of fun at Camp St. Croix 10:25-12:10 Unit of Inquiry
and are looking forward to our overnight trip Communications
there in November. Pictures will be posted Science/Social Studies

Next week we will start getting into 5 Grade Curriculum Night is scheduled for 11:25-12:10 Spanish (every Day 3)
Wednesday, September 23 from 6:00-7:00pm. We 12:10-12:45 Lunch/Recess
more of the curriculum, including spelling, 12:45-1:00 Read Aloud
math, and our IB planners. are looking forward to seeing you there and
discussing important information about the 5th grade 1:00-2:00 Math
2:00-2:45 Unit of Inquiry
