MEMBERS IN THE…
▪ John Pickels participated in the Chalk/Sidewalk Art Competition in Winter Garden and won First Place.
John’s employer, Lockheed Martin, conducts an annual “Art in April” event for employees and their spouses.
John placed first in the watercolor competition.
▪ Shalini Tandon is representing our ALOC Membership by entering the “Red Chair Affair” event.
▪ Marcy Taylor is also representing the Creative Spirit Art Gallery in the “Red Chair Affair” event.
▪ Arlene Kartak has a selection of silk scarves and silk paintings available for sale in the Maitland Art Center
Gift Shop.
▪ Lorraine Turner has recently participated in two Baldwin Park Art Strolls, one in April and the other in July.
Also, Trish’s Tea Room purchased one of her paintings of Baldwin Park in which Trish’s restaurant was
prominently featured in the painting. Lorraine exhibited and painted in the Mt. Dora Stroll in July. Lorraine is
currently co-chairing and working on the publicity for the Celebration, November 5th, Art Stroll. (Refer to
the bottom of this page for an open invitation to the Celebration-Art Stroll to all ALOC Members.)
▪ Nancy Gonzalez has exhibited her work at the Winter Park University Club for the month of August.
▪ Betty Rusnak has completed several graphite and ink commission pieces over the summer. Three portraits,
a family pet, a house and a collage of family events.
▪ Judy Braggs Pardo has been very, very busy…she participated in the Bloom n’ Garden n’ Chalk Fest, 2
day-event in Safety Harbor and won the Safety Harbor Garden Award. She also participated in another 2-
day event at the Avnida de Clores Street Painting Festival in Sarasota. Judy’s artwork “In-Between
Entryway” was accepted in the Take Out Exhibit at the Brevard Museum in Melbourne from May through
June. Judy also exhibited her work, along with her fellow-creative-employees at the University of Central
Florida, in the UCF Library. Judy also coordinated the UCF event. You can view her paintings and artwork at

▪ Mary J. Gray had her art work on display at Trish’s Tea Room on New Broad Street in Baldwin Park.
▪ Ellen Smith had a one-person show of 15 paintings exhibited at the Canterbury Conference and Retreat
Center in May.
▪ Donna Fullerton became a new member of the Creative Spirit Art Gallery.
▪ Doris Smart and Judy Braggs Pardo will be exhibiting at the Maitland Civic Center in September and
October.
