ship Hall. Car check-in will begin at 9:00 a.m., and the race will start at 10:00 a.m. We will share a simple lunch together after the race. We had a BLAST last year, and are looking forward to a fun time again as gentlemen and ladies ages 4-youth make and race cars. Please see Jeanne Carpenter if you are still needing a kit (note these kits are not the same as those used with Scouts, etc.) Derby workdays will be held on January 25 and February 1 at 10:00 a.m. at National Heights. Anyone who would like to work on their cars on those days are welcome to join us on one or both days. We will have tools, paint, and other supplies available. We have an additional workday scheduled on February 8 at 10:00 a.m., also, if needed. Feel free to invite your friends to participate!! This can be a really fun outreach opportunity to both kids and parents. Your family is welcome to come watch and cheer the racers on, as well as other members of our NHBC family. On your mark, get set.....let's race!

For some time, my heart has wanted to share with other women out there...knowing that our seasons sometimes are very similar, sometimes are very different, but all seasons in which we can share with each other as we travel through life. So many great things come across my desk...some for new moms, some for wives, some that just touch the special chords of a woman's heart. There are way too many to simply share the addresses of the sites with you. I know... Sometimes we have time to read something, sometimes not. Sometimes our heart desires, but the weight on our shoulders right then hampers soaking in new ideas or special words. And so, I have created a new blog, (http://seasonsofourhearts.blogspot.com) thankful for the many women in my life, and for the new ones still to come. Read when you can, when you need a drop of rain on your parched heart, when you want to smile...read throughout your special seasons. No two seasons are exactly alike, and no season lasts forever. Some posts may strike right where you are, some may be called to mind later, and some may not be of use to you. Please feel free to share comments, because after all...seasons are made up of MANY pieces, and it takes them all to complete the picture.

God's Conversation Hearts


BE MINE - God wants us to accept His love. For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. John 3:16 ALL MINE - God loves us and will keep us. My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me: And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand. My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father's hand. I and my Father are one. John 10:27-30 TRUE LOVE - God loves us with true love as only He can. I have loved thee with an everlasting love: therefore with lovingkindness have I drawn thee. Jeremiah 31:3

LOVE ME - God wants us to love Him. Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy strength, and with all thy mind; and thy neighbor as thyself. Luke 10:27 I'M SURE - God's sure of His love and wants us to know we have a future with Him. Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also. John 14:1-3 SWEET TALK - God's Word is His love letter to us. How sweet are thy words unto my taste! yea, sweeter than honey to my mouth! Psalm 119:103 BE GOOD - God tells us how to love Him back. If ye love me, keep my commandments. John 14:15 CALL ME - God loves us so much He wants to communicate with us. Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and show thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not. Happy Valentines Day!!!

Becky Woodall is not only our church pianist, but has also served as our VBS Director for a number of years. She and her husband, Lynn, have four kids, ranging in age from 42 to 37, including one set of twins. Her oldest daughter, Betsy, lives in Australia. The other children live in Springfield. She has nine grandchildren, aged 15 years to five months, and they all live in Springfield. Her hobby is quilting, and she is a realtor with Coldwell Bankers. Becky was also the church organist in the past, and together with her time as pianist, she has shared her musical talents at NHBC for more than 25 years. She attended Hillcrest High School, and is also a Sunday School teacher in the Young Singles class.

Around this time each year, people begin thinking about fresh starts. The Bible has a lot to say about fresh starts. Ten Verses to Usher in the New Year Isaiah 43:18-19 Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland." Lamentations 3:22-23 "Because of the LORDs great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness." Ephesians 4:23-24 to be made new in the attitude of your minds; and to put on the new self, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness. Ecclesiastes 3:11 He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in the human heart; yet no one can fathom what God has done from beginning to end. Habakkuk 1:5 Look at the nations and watch-- and be utterly amazed. For I am going to do something in your days that you would not believe, even if you were told. Psalm 98:1 Sing to the LORD a new song, for he has done marvelous things; his right hand and his holy arm have worked salvation for him. Ezekiel 11:19 I will give them an undivided heart and put a new spirit in them; I will remove from them their heart of stone and give them a heart of flesh. Revelation 21:5 He who was seated on the throne said, I am making everything new! Then he said, Write this down, for these words are trustworthy and true. Romans 18:38 I consider that our present sufferings are not worth comparing with the glory that will be revealed in us. 1 Peter 1:3 Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead.
