SEVEN MILE MIRACLE CURRICULUM

MILE 1: FORGIVENESS
Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do. - Luke 23:34 This Weeks Goal: May God open our eyes to the full extent of His forgiveness. Our journey through the seven last sayings of Jesus Christ begins at Golgotha, or The Skull, widely recognized as the ground where Jesus hung from the cross. It is here that Jesus Christ paid the debt that we could never pay, offering His life as an atoning sacrifice for our sins. During the first video session, you will see Pastor Steven Furtick on location, presenting you with a call to embrace the revolutionary forgiveness of Jesus Christ. As you watch this with your small group, pray that God will open your eyes to full extent of His forgiveness. Take plenty of notes during the video. Afterwards, use the following discussion questions to facilitate a deeper discussion of forgiveness with your group. Scripture References from the Video: Luke 23:32-34, The Scene at Golgotha. Matthew 18:21-35, The Parable of the Unmerciful Servant. Luke 16:1-15, The Parable of the Shrewd Manager. Group Discussion: 1. How do you define forgiveness? As a group, take a moment to share your definitions. 2. Jesus defined a new system of forgiveness in Matthew 18:21-35. What is this system and how is it different from the way you define forgiveness? 3. During the video, Pastor Steven mentioned that there were two types of people that needed forgiveness at the scene of Jesus crucifixion. There were those to whom Jesus said, Father, forgive them for they know not what they do, and those to whom Hed say, Father, forgive them even though they know exactly what theyre doing. Which category do you fall under? Why? 4. During the video, Pastor Steven challenged you to think about the times when God could have given up on you, but forgave you anyway. What changes has God made in your life as a result of those moments? How is God reshaping you right now? 5. The first realization of the Seven Mile Miracle is to understand the full extent of Gods forgiveness. Walking in the full extent of His forgiveness requires daily submission to the work He wants to do in and through you. What is the first step of obedience you need to take to overcome what is obstructing you from the full extent of Gods forgiveness in every area of your life? Who has God put on your heart during this session? Whether its offering forgiveness or seeking forgiveness for something youve done, commit to acting upon what God is speaking to you before you continue in this study.
