Many have stated that it is impossible to know whether or not we are living in the last days before the second coming of Jesus Christ. However, below you will find dramatic proof that these are the endtimes. The proofs below defy coincidence.
Euphrates River to Be Dried Up
In Revelation 16:12, the Bible predicts that the Euphrates River will be dried up to prepare the way for the kings of the east to invade Israel. This will happen at the time of the battle of Armageddon according to verse 16 of the same chapter. The battle of Armageddon will be the final battle at which time Jesus will return and fight on the side of the nation of Israel. Immediately thereafter He will establish His kingdom and usher in His one thousand-year reign of peace. On January 13, 1990, the Indianapolis Star carried the headline Turkey Will Cut Off Flow of Euphrates for One Month. The article stated that a huge reservoir had been built by Turkey. While filling up the reservoir, the flow of the Euphrates would be stopped for one month and a concrete plug for a diversion channel built. These things have now been done. With this newly built dam, Turkey has the ability to stop the Euphrates River at will. The conditions for fulfilling this 1,900 year-old prophecy are now in place.
In Revelation 9:15-16, the Bible prophesies that an army of 200 million soldiers will launch a war which would kill the third part of men. Never in the history of the world until our present generation has there been a power on earth that could field 200 million soldiers. However, the late ruler of China, Mao Tse Tung boasted in his diary that he could field an army of 200 million. The CIA World Factbook reports that in the year 2001, it is estimated that China has 200,886,946 men of military age, and this number is growing by 10 million per year.

Worldwide Numbering System Predicted
In Revelation 13, the Bible prophesies that a world dictator will soon rule over a world government. He will cause all people in the earth to receive a number without which they will be unable to buy or sell. We are seeing this prophecy fulfilled before our eyes in a most astonishing way. Nearly every human being in the world now has been assigned a number. In America it is our Social Security number. In the past few years, we have seen this number extended to newborns. A child without a Social Security number cannot be declared as a dependent on an income tax return. We have seen the emergence of electronic money, shopping with credit cards, and many people urging the abolishment of cash. All of these things could not possibly have been fulfilled until this present time. Only after the invention of the computer could such a worldwide numbering system be administered.
Revelation 13:7 and Daniel 7:23 prophesy the establishment of a world government. The term New World Order has become a prevalent phrase in the worlds political culture. Mikhail Gorbachev made the term famous, and Pope John Paul II has referred to it repeatedly. In the September 12, 1990 issue of the Chicago Tribune, our former president George Bush said, Iraq is the first test for the New World Order. He emphatically stated that the Iraq War is Saddam Hussein against the world. The United Nations troops are continually referred to as the multi-national forces. The decision has been made to establish an interdependent community of nations that will rule the world under United Nations authority. The Bible says that this will lead us into a great world government. The formation of this government is at hand.

n the aftermath of the attack on America, former Soviet Union President Mikhail Gorbachev was interviewed by Larry King. Gorbachev said that....we (the world) had waited too long after the end of the Cold War to move on with the New International Order. As the worlds leading advocate of global governance, Gorbachev sees the present crisis as another powerful argument for the establishment of one-world government. The most critical test of the presidency of George W. Bush may be whether he is able to lead the war on terrorism without succumbing to the siren song of the advocates of one-world government. How is Bush doing to date? On the positive side, the president has resisted calls to channel all decisions concerning the war on terrorism through the United Nations Security Council. In so doing, he has retained U.S. sovereignty and freedom of action. On the negative side, Bush has yielded to those who salivate to exploit the present crisis in order to plunge the world headlong into the clutches of one-world government. On October 11, 2001, the San Francisco Chronicle reported that two NATO Airborne Warning and Control Systems aircraft, with crews from 12 different nations, would begin patrolling the skies over the United States. You heard right! Foreign troops from 12 dif-
ferent nations have now been engaged to patrol the skies of America! President Bush commented concerning this alarming development, This has never happened before, that NATO has come to help defend our country. But it happened in this time of need, and for that we are profoundly grateful. This is the first time foreign planes have had direct responsibility for defense of the United States. The question that must be asked is whether we actually needed NATO military assistance, or was this simply a ploy to get Americans used to foreign troops in action within our borders. Marcus Corbin, a senior analyst at the Center for Defense Information, provided the answer, Sending the AWACS planes is largely a political gesture. NORAD (the North American Aerospace Defense command) is perfectly capable of doing the jobs AWACS planes can do. This alarming development demonstrates once again that Americas most lethal enemy is not Osama bin Laden, but our own leaders who would surrender the sovereignty of the United States to a foreign powera one-world government. We should continue to pray that President Bush will not be numbered among those who would lead America into the New International Order of Mikhail Gorbachev.

What is Endtime Magazine?

Re-creating History
I listened to your program where you interviewed the Muslim defending his faith. He seems like an intellectual trained in the post-modernistic, deconstructionistic understanding of reality. This means that what seems like 2 + 2 = 4 is only true depending on what culture you are in. It all depends on how you interpret it. (Its all about what is is as Bill Clinton so gloriously spelled out). Its not about words as concrete things, but about context and meanings in todays culture. Its all about re-creating history. It reminds me of the twisted words at the Dachau Nazi concentration camp where the entrance sign states Work Shall Set You Free. Its doublespeak and intentional confusion. This man seemed like a perfect politician, gracious and kind. God protect us from people like that. Thank the Lord that Jesus is the truth and His words never change their meaning. The Inevitable Mark

I appreciate your frankness about how you see things and where you believe scripture is leading us. I know it is important to stand for righteousness especially in these last days. My question is this; why should we call our leaders and the president and voice against the National ID mark when scripture plainly states that it is inevitable. Are we just buying some time or are our efforts in vain because these things must come to pass? We do want the Lord to come quickly, dont we? Thank you for your time and all that you represent. P. Jones Reply: The mark of the beast will be a very evil thing, and we should always resist evil. Furthermore, Daniel 11:40-44 describes nations fighting against the Antichrist during the final three and one-half years. We know this because the Abomination of Desolation, which happens three and one-half years before Armageddon, occurs in verse 31. Since the Antichrist will have opposition on a national level almost to the end of his reign, I would like for the United States to be one of those opposing forces.
National ID: Precursor or Mark?

I have a question concerning the National ID mess. Do you feel that this will be the mark of the beast or do you feel the National ID is merely a precursor? N. A Pledge Without God

It would be interesting to discuss what we are going to do if this ID card turns out to be the mark. The fact of the matter is that they could have you sign a document that says simply that
you pledge your alliance to the country and leave out under Gd! Then what do we do? G. Powerful Book
Your The China War & The Third Temple book is powerful. It was amazing to see how easily things can change in the world that would allow the scriptures to come true. Does Bible Really Say Temple Will Be Rebuilt?

The cornerstones to the new temple were to have been laid on October 4th at 9:30am. To me this a great and marvelous thing, but it has not been reported anywhere. I have searched the Bible and I cant find where it says that this temple must be rebuilt. Where in the Bible does it say that? D. Crockett Reply: The Bible doesnt say that the temple must be rebuilt. But it does prophesy that it will. II Thessalonians 2:3-4 clearly describes the time when the Antichrist will sit in the temple. If there is no temple, the Antichrist could not fulfill this prophecy. In Revelation 11:1-2, the Apostle John was told to measure the temple. According to the passage, this measuring will take place 42 months before Armageddon. If there is no temple 42 months before Armageddon, then the measuring of the temple could not take place. There will be a temple standing on the Temple Mount in the endtime. Consequently, we know that its construction must begin before long.
200 Million Muslims

Could the Muslim nations unite to form the 6th Trumpets 200 million-man army? Multitudes of inquirers Reply: I have believed for many years that the 200 millionman army would come from China. And I still believe that to be true. However, there is one other entity on earth that could possibly put together this prophesied army. Since there are 1.2 billion Muslims in the world, it would be possible for them to field an army of 200 million soldiers. If, in fact, the Muslims are the army to which the prophecy of Revelation 9:15-16 speaks, then it appears that the prophesied war has now begun. Since this war will kill one-third of mankind, the possibility that we have entered that war is sobering indeed. Time will soon tell.
Oprahs Yankee Stadium Interfaith Meeting

Soon: No Tolerance for Full Gospel

I watched the gathering of many religions today on MSNBC and was stunned, however not in shock. I can truly see how the world has changed in little more than a week. Prior to all these things happening, it was fairly acceptable in this country to say that Jesus is the only way to eternal life. But I feel that the acceptability is shrinking fast. As the worlds faiths unite, believing the full gospel will no longer be acceptable, nor tolerated. he one comment heard repeatedly in the aftermath of the September 11th terrorist attack on America was, The world will never be the same. All of us instinctively know this is true, whether or not we understand what the changes produced by the attacks on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon will ultimately be. The questions that nag at each of us have to be: How will these events affect my life? How do these things fit into the prophecies of the endtime? Where is God in all of this?
What prophecies lie ahead?

There are many prophecies in scripture for the times just ahead. In this article, we will consider seven of the major ones. The prophecies we will discuss are: Confirmation of a covenant concerning Israels right to the Promised Land Jerusalem shared between Jew and Gentile A war that kills one-third of mankind Temple built on the Temple Mount Antichrist sits in the temple claiming to be God The Great Tribulation Mark of the beast Lets briefly examine each prophecy and discuss how recent events are already impacting its fulfillment.
1. Confirmation of a covenant concerning Israels right to the Promised Land

Daniel 9:27 states that the Antichrist will confirm a covenant with Israel. This confirming of the covenant marks the beginning of a seven-year period, which culminates at the Battle of Armageddon. It is at Armageddon that Jesus returns to the earth to establish His 1,000-year kingdom. We know that it is the Antichrist who confirms the covenant because the he that confirms the covenant in Daniel 9:27 also stops the sacrifice and places the abomination of desolation. Daniel 11:31 clearly states that it is the Antichrist that takes away the daily sacrifice and places the abomination of desolation. The covenant in this prophecy appears to be the covenant that God made with Abraham in Genesis 15:18 when God

promised the land of Israel to Abrahams seed. We know this because, within three and one-half years of the confirmation of the covenant by the Antichrist, a Jewish temple will have been built and animal sacrifices will have been resumed. Consequently, we can conclude that the confirmation of the covenant will affect the status of Jerusalem and will result in the building of Israels Third Temple on the Temple Mount. The present Israeli-Palestinian conflict is being fought specifically over whether or not Israel has a right to the land described in Genesis 15:18. Until recently, the International Community, as a whole, has leaned toward the Palestinian side in this conflict. The pendulum of world opinion began to swing toward Israel when Arafat turned down the peace deal offered by Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Barak at Camp David last year. Barak offered to return virtually all of the territories captured in the 1967 War, including the entirety of the Temple Mount itself, to Palestinian control. Most of the world thought for sure that Arafat would jump at this unprecedented peace offer. Instead, Arafat launched a new round of terrorism, which has now raged for over a year. When news of the successful attack on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon reached the Palestinians on September 11th, they began to dance in the streets in celebration. Video footage of the celebrations was shown on the television networks around the world. Quickly, Yasser Arafat realized how damaging this was going to be for the Palestinian cause. He ordered the confiscation of the video footage. The photographers who captured these pictures were apprehended and warned that if their news services aired the footage showing the celebrations, their lives might be in danger. Some of these scenes were shown around the world, but were quickly pulled after the first day. In the meantime, Yasser Arafat rushed to the nearest clinic to donate blood for the victims of the attacks on America. There just happened to be plenty of cameras present to record this action. By the way, this footage was NOT confiscated by the Palestinian police. It was distributed freely for all of the world to see. When news of the terror attacks first reached the Middle East, Muslim Palestinians were captured on film dancing in the streets, indicating their the true feelings for America. Recognizing the public relations nightmare, Arafat had most of the film was confiscated. He then ran to donate blood for the victims. These photos made the newswires.
past year have convinced the Israelis that they do not have a peace partner. Consequently, many of them have decided that the only solution is to unilaterally separate from the Palestinians. Discussion is ongoing at this time concerning the possibility of building a fence between Israel and the areas controlled by the Palestinian Authority. Separation seems to be the likely outcome of the present situation, and it also seems to be what the Bible prophesies will happen. Many have believed that the confirmation of the covenant would be a peace agreement between Arabs and Israelis. However, this seems unlikely since horrible slaughter is specifically prophesied in the West Bank area during the final three and one-half years of the prophesied seven-year period (Matthew 24:15-21). It seems more plausible that the confirmation of the covenant will be a tacit agreement between Israel and the Antichrist, speaking on behalf of the International Community. When in Egypt in October of 2001, British Prime Minister Tony Blair stated that he doubted terrorism would ever be eradicated until the Palestinian-Israeli problem was solved. President Bush apparently agrees with this assessment. During the second week of October, 2001, his State Department issued a communiqu calling for the establishment of a Palestinian state.
The terrorist attack of September 11th has successfully focused the attention of the World Community on the Mideast conflict. The Antichrist, as the recognized leader of the World Community, will apparently arrive at an agreement with Israel concerning settling the ArabIsraeli conflict. It seems that the attack on the World Trade Center has hastened that day. The International Community seems to understand more clearly, since the attack on America, how it feels to be a victim of terrorism. It is easy to see why they would say to Israel, If you unilaterally separate from the Palestinians, establishing lines with which we agree, we will support you. It seems likely that the above scenario could occur within the next 4-6 months. Things could drag out for another 2 or 3 years. Whenever these developments take place, they will mark the beginning of the final seven years before Armageddon. It is not always easy to foresee every eventuality. However, if events open the way for the building of Israels Third Temple on the Temple Mount, we can be almost positive that the final seven years have begun.
2. Jerusalem shared between Jew and Gentile

In Revelation 11:1-2, John was instructed to measure the temple, but to

not measure the outer court because it would be trodden down of the Gentiles for 42 months. This clearly prophesies that the temple will be under Israeli control for the final 42 months before Armageddon, but the outer court of the temple will be under Gentile control. On October 11, 2001, President Bush called for the sharing of Jerusalem. He stated that it should be the capital of both the Palestinian state and the Jewish state. The 2,000 year-old prophecy and the recent sharing proposal of the U.S. president are in perfect agreement. This sharing arrangement will undoubtedly be one of the provisions of the confirmation of the covenant.
China has stated repeatedly that she is willing to lose millions of men and major cities in order to preserve the unity of the Motherland. Another critical factor in this equation deserves our attention. China presently has 25 intercontinental ballistic missiles equipped with nuclear warheads. These city-buster bombs are ten times as powerful as the atomic bomb that was dropped on Hiroshima in World War II. It is almost certain that each of these missiles is aimed at U.S. cities. Should China launch these nuclear weapons against the United States today, 25 major U.S. cities would cease to exist. The U.S.

China has a population of 1.3 billion. There are 1.2 billion Muslims in the world. It is possible that the Muslims could provide the 200 million-man army spoken of in Revelation 9. If the Muslims are the ones spoken of in the prophecy, then the war that will kill 2 billion human beings has just begun! If China is to be the 200 million-man army, the war could be launched at any time probably sooner rather than later.
3. A war that kills one-third of mankind

The prophecy of Revelation 9:15-16 simply states that an army of 200 million soldiers will trigger a war that will kill one-third of mankind2 billion people. Mao TseTung, the late leader of China, boasted in his diary that China could field an army of 200 million. China has repeatedly declared its intention to reunite Taiwan with Mainland China, by force if necessary. When Taiwan held her first democratic elections in 1996, China lobbed missiles five miles off the Taiwanese coast. China hoped to intimidate Taiwan from holding these elections because she didnt want the Chinese race to be infected by the disease of democracy. In order to protect Taiwans fledgling democracy, the United States sent two aircraft carriers into the Straits of Taiwan. China had no weapons that could counteract these floating naval bases. Consequently, she was forced to back down. However, China immediately placed an order with Russia to purchase two Sovremenny ships. These ships are aircraft carrier destroyers. They are capable of firing nuclear tipped missiles that can sink aircraft carriers with a single hit. China took delivery of these two ships in the year 2000. With the war on terrorism in Afghanistan, the United States has sent every aircraft carrier that was in the Western Pacific to the Middle East. At this time, we have no aircraft carriers in the Straits of Taiwan. Stripped of this protection, Taiwan is wide open to a surprise attack from the mainland. Remember,

has nothing to stop them. We have no anti-missile defense system in place. President Bush has proceeded with plans to build an anti-missile defense system. However, it will not become operational until 2004. In 2004, China will lose her ability to threaten the U.S. with nuclear attack should a conflict develop over Taiwan. Consequently, China finds herself in a two-year window of opportunity. If she is going to make good on her threat to take Taiwan, by force if necessary, the logical time to move is within the next two years. With all of the U.S. aircraft carriers in the Middle East, the most logical time for China to make her move is right now! The bottom line is simply thisthe terror attack on America may have created the situation that will soon destroy onethird of mankind. It should be noted that scripture does not specifically state that China will be
4. Temple built on the Temple Mount

Both II Thessalonians 2:3-4 and Revelation 11:1-2 clearly state that there will be a Jewish temple on the Temple Mount before and during the final three and one-half years preceding Armageddon. The new emphasis by the Bush administration on some kind of settlement in the Middle East and the stance in favor of a shared Jerusalem can only expedite the prophesied building of Israels Third Temple.
5. Antichrist sits in the temple claiming to be God

The prophecy states that the man of sin (the Antichrist) will sit in the temple of God, claiming to be God (II Thessalonians 2:4). How could an international leader such as the Antichrist ever sit in the Holy Place claiming to be God? President Bushs proposal to share Jerusalem, which was first put forward by Bill Clinton at Camp David, will inevitably also call for the sharing of the Temple Mount, which is the core of Jerusalem. Anticipating this, former Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Barak actually proposed the sharing of the Temple Mount between Jew and Muslim. Understanding the potential conflict of such an arrangement, Barak suggested that the UN could be given supervision over the Temple Mount for the purpose of maintaining order. This could explain how the international leader of the world, the Antichrist, will be able to stand on the Temple Mount, claiming authority and sovereignty there.
The Antichrist sitting in the temple claiming to be God is referred to in scripture as the Abomination of Desolation. The Abomination of Desolation is the event that triggers the prophesied time of great persecution called the Great Tribulation. Jesus said in Matthew 24:15-21, When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand:) Then let them which be in Judaea flee into the mountainsFor then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be. The Great Tribulation will be a campaign against the religious and political non-conformists of the world. Anyone who will not buy into the all-encompassing religious system of Interfaithism and the universal system of global governance will be considered a threat to world peace and harmony. Since the attack on America, we have seen an unprecedented emphasis placed on recognizing the validity of the great religions of the world. We are being told repeatedly that Muslims worship the same God that the Jews and the Christians worship. President Bush has stated that the Muslim religion is a great religion. Muslims do not believe Jesus was the Messiah, or that He was God or even the Son of God. They do not believe Jesus died on the cross, and they do not believe that He gave His blood for the sin of mankind. The Bible tells us that those who do not believe that Jesus is come in the flesh are antichrist. To deny that Jesus is God is to deny God Himself. The Muslim religion is not a great religion. It is paganism, and it denies the atonement accomplished by Jesus Christ on the cross of Calvary. The present media campaign against all who are not religiously inclusive is preparing the way for the coming Great Tribulation.

7. Mark of the beast

Revelation 13:15-18 describes the system of security and identification that will be implemented during the time of the Antichrist. And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and
bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads: And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name. As a result of the terrorism of September 11th, a cry has gone out for new systems of safety and identification. Advocates of one-world government have long campaigned for a national ID card. Americans, loving freedom and privacy, have adamantly resisted every effort by the government to impose such a system. In the aftermath of the recent terrorism, a national ID has once again been given consideration. Britains Prime Minister Tony Blair has announced the institution of a national ID card in Great Britain. This card will be required in order to fly, buy gasoline, or open a bank account. In other words, you will have to have it in order to function in British society. Prime Minister Blair and President Bush discussed the possibility of national ID cards together. It is easy to see how the tragedy of September 11th is accelerating the march of society straight into the arms of the mark of the beast. Our latest reports, thankfully, are saying that President Bush does not favor a national ID card for America at this time. As we can see, almost every major
prophecy for the time ahead has been impacted by the terror attacks on America. The confirmation of the covenant and the war that kills one-third of the worlds population could come to pass literally within months. Never has the urgency been so great!
So what should we do?

As we see all the prophecies of the endtime moving swiftly toward fulfillment, our first reaction should be to reaffirm our own personal salvation. Jesus said in Matthew 24:44, Therefore be ye also ready: for in such an hour as ye think not the Son of man cometh. Jesus told us that we must be born again in order to become a part of the kingdom of heaven. After we have obeyed the biblical plan of salvation, then we should enthusiastically share the gospel of Jesus Christ with every person possible. Jesus said in Matthew 24:14, And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come. If we are ever going to evangelize the world, the time is now! If we ever plan to reach our lost loved ones, it must be now! Remember, we must work while it is day; for the night cometh, when no man can work.

BY EDDIE SAX he Bible prophesies the destruction of Babylon in the 18th chapter of Revelation. Many of the events that happened in New York City on September 11th bore an eerie resemblance to parts of this prophecy. Some of the similarities are hard to ignore. Many have asked, so lets take a look. It has been widely taught in recent years that, while Revelation 17 describes religious Babylon, Chapter 18 portrays economic Babylon. Political Babylon is elsewhere. The three Babylons are taught to be separate. Based on this theory, it is reasoned that the United States, represented by its financial center, New York City, is economic Babylon. The frightening images captured and immortalized on the fateful day of the terror attack resembled some of the prophecies about Babylon in Revelation 18, leading many to wonder if this prophecy has now been fulfilled.

Much smoke, many standing afar off seeing the torment, the towers fell in just over an hour. 19: And they cast dust on their heads, and cried, weeping and wailing, saying, Alas, alas, that great city, wherein were made rich all that had ships in the sea by reason of her costliness! for in one hour is she made desolate. The images of people escaping from the buildings covered head to toe in soot comes mightily close to this verse. Many were certainly made rich by the activities at the World Trade Center. 21: And a mighty angel took up a stone like a great millstone, and cast it into the sea, saying, Thus with violence shall that great city Babylon be thrown down, and shall be found no more at all. The World Trade Center is no more.
Revelation 18:8 says Babylon shall be utterly burned with fire. Verses 11-14 prophesy that "the merchants of the earth shall weep and mourn over her; for no man buyeth their merchandise any more:" The photo above was taken from the floor of the New York Stock Exchange on Monday, September 17, six days after the attacks. Obviously, Revelation 18 has not been fulfilled.

Lets look a little closer at some of these conclusions. Revelation 18:2 begins: Babylon the great is fallen, is fallen. We have yet to prove whether or not New York City is economic Babylon. So this scripture, however poetic, offers us no proof. 8: Therefore shall her plagues come in one day, death, and mourning, and famine; and she shall be utterly burned with fire: for strong is the Lord God who judgeth her. Taking a second look at this verse, we should recognize that famine was, in no way, a result of this catastrophe. Furthermore, the word utterly denotes absoluteness and totality. The subject is economic Babylon, not a few buildings of the many located in lower Manhattan. The New York Stock Exchange was not destroyed. The markets are open. The word utterly does not fit. 19: And they cast dust on their heads, and cried, weeping and wailing, saying, Alas, alas, that great city, wherein were made rich all that had ships in the sea by reason of her costliness! for in one hour is she made desolate. Nobody cast dust on their own heads in an act of mourning as they saw their money going down the soot were escaping for their lives. To liken this verse to those covered in soot is irresponsible. 21b: Thus with violence shall that great city Babylon be thrown down, and shall be found no more at all. The city was not thrown down, only a few buildings. We cannot say that the city shall be found no more. Only the World Trade Center shall be found no more. It has been said that the United States is Babylon of Revelation 18. When confronted with the fact that Babylon is a city, not a country, it is contended that the U.S. is represented by its financial center, New York City. We now see that in order to really link the description given to us in Chapter 18, we must further narrow Babylon down to a few specific office buildings, while overlooking the fact that trading has now resumed. tion and lived deliciously with her, should be in great mourning right now. But they are not. Verses 11-14 prophesy that the merchants of the earth shall weep and mourn over her; for no man buyeth their merchandise any more: Obviously not fulfilled. Verse 16 describes Babylon as being clothed in fine linen, and purple, and scarlet, and decked with gold, and precious stones, and pearls. This neither describes the World Trade Center, nor lower Manhattan, nor the City of New York, nor the United States of America. Verse 23 states that by the sorceries of this Babylon were all nations deceived. In what way were all nations deceived? Verse 24: And in her was found the blood of prophets, and of saints, and of all that were slain upon the earth. Does this describe New York or the U.S.A.? No, it does not. Neither New York nor the United States has ever been involved in religious persecution. It simply does not fit.
More Problem Verses in Chapter 18

Verse 2 states that Babylons fall results in her being the habitation of devils, and the hold of every foul spirit, and a cage of every unclean and hateful bird. This does not fit. According to verse 9, leaders of nations

The word utterly can only apply to a few buildings. Stocks are trading. No famine took place. There is no record of people casting dust on their heads in mourning. The city can still be found. A very small percentage of those who work in economic Babylon lost their lives. Nations are still doing business with Wall Street. Her merchandise is still being bought. She is not clothed in purple and red. She does not deceive by sorceries. And she has no record of killing prophets and saints. Regardless of whether you have been taught in the past that Babylon is the United States, New York City, the Wall Street district, or the specific buildings of the World Trade Center, Revelation 18 does not fit. Yes, there are some striking similarities, but thats as far as one should go.

Babylon of Revelation 18 = Babylon of Revelation 17

By comparing certain scriptures in Revelation 18 with parallel verses in Chapter 17, we will prove beyond all shadow of a doubt that the Babylon of 17 and 18 are one and the same. Then we will proceed to identify who Babylon really is. First, we will compare Revelation 17:2 with 18:3 and 18:9: With whom the kings of the earth have committed fornication, and the inhabitants of the earth have been made drunk with the wine of her fornication (17:2)... For all nations have drunk of the wine of the wrath of her fornication, and the kings of the earth have committed fornication with her, and the merchants of the earth are waxed rich through the abundance of her delicacies (18:3)... And the kings of the earth, who have committed fornication and lived deliciously with her, shall bewail her, and lament for her, when they shall see the smoke of her burning (18:9). Clearly, these two chapters describe the same entity. It would be hard to conclude otherwise. Now compare Revelation 17:4 with 18:16: And the woman was arrayed in purple and scarlet colour, and decked with gold and precious stones and pearls, having a golden cup in her hand full of abominations and filthiness of her fornication (17:4)... that great city, that was clothed in fine linen, and purple, and scarlet, and
Revelation 17 depicts a woman riding a red-colored beast, and gives us clues as to her identity. Revelation 18 goes on to describe what happens to her. The two chapters are one continuous stream of thought; they cannot be separated!
decked with gold, and precious stones, and pearls! (18:16). According to these verses as well, Revelation 17 and 18 describe the same Babylon. Theres more. 17:6a versus 18:24a: And I saw the woman drunken with the blood of the saints, and with the blood of the martyrs of Jesus (17:6)... And in her was found the blood of prophets, and of saints (18:24). Enough said.
Babylons Destruction Is at Armageddon

Now that we have proven that there can be no distinction between the Babylon of one chapter to the next, lets look at two more parallels. Revelation 14:7b-8 speaks of Babylons fall. for the hour of his (Gods) judgment is come... Babylon is fallen, is fallen, that great city, because she made all nations drink of the wine of the wrath of her fornication. We can see that this description is identical to 17:2, 18:3 and 18:9. Revelation 18:2 also uses the Babylon the great is fallen, is fallen terminology. And we see that the fall of Babylon is the hour of Gods judgment. The final parallel is found in the 7th Vial. This is where the rubber meets the
road on trying to parallel Revelation 18 with the events of September 11th. We are about to see that the destruction of Babylon occurs not on September 11, 2001, but at the time of the Battle of Armageddon. Revelation 16:16-21 clearly states that the events of the 7th Vial include the Battle of Armageddon. According to verse 19 they also include the judgment upon Babylon. And the great city was divided into three parts, and the cities of the nations fell: and great Babylon came in remembrance before God, to give unto her the cup of the wine of the fierceness of his wrath. The judgment upon Babylon described in the 7th Vial is further described in Chapters 17 and 18. We will prove this by paralleling 16:19 with 18:5. great Babylon came in remembrance before God, to give unto her the cup of the wine of the fierceness of his wrath (16:19)... For her sins have reached unto heaven, and God hath remembered her iniquities (18:5). This remembrance by God is followed by a description of the fierceness of His wrath. Its His judgment. The subject of Revelation 17 and 18 is the judgment of the great whore (17:1). Chapter 18 describes this judgment the fierceness of the plagues and wrath that He will pour out upon her.
In summary, the Babylon of Chapter 17 is the Babylon of Chapter 18. Its fall is the hour of Gods judgment (14:7-8), which includes the judgment of the great whore (17:1). It is when God remembers her (16:19, 18:5). The 7th Vial occurs at the time of the Battle of Armageddon, and therefore, the judgment of the great whore described in Chapter 18 occurs then too.

So Who Is Babylon of Revelation 18?

Now that we have taken great pains to prove what Babylon is not and why she did not fall on September 11, 2001, lets see who she is. Revelation 18 describes her judgment, but Chapter 17 tells us her identity. We are given several unmistakable clues: Verse 18 tells us that the woman is a city. Verse 15 teaches that she is also an international system, sitting on peoples, multitudes, nations and tongues. Verse 9 explains that the woman (the city) sits on seven hills. Verse 4 says that the woman is arrayed in purple and red. According to verse 6, the woman was to be a great persecutor of Gods people. There is a very powerful force on this earth that fulfills every one of these prophecies to the letter. Rome is a city. It is universally known as The City of Seven Hills. It is the headquarters for the Roman Catholic Church, which claims one billion members from all over the world. There are two ruling bodies in the Catholic Churchthe Cardinals who wear red, and the Bishops and Archbishops who wear purple. History tells us that the Vatican and the papacy have been responsible for the deaths of at least 50 million Christians over the last 1,700 years. The Vatican fulfills this prophecy so accurately it is astonishing. Rome is the Mystery Babylon in Revelation 14, 16, 17 and 18. It is not America, and it is not New York City. On the surface, the parallels between Revelation 18 and the terror attack are striking and worthy of a second look. The second look, however, reveals that there is no connection. To plan such acts as what occurred on September 11, with such a high degree of sophistication and precision, are not simply the acts of madmen bent on a binge of random destruction. President Bush has rightly declared war against such terrorism. We must know that Osama bin Laden is a warrior dedicated to more than just war; he is leading a holy war against the United States and Israel. He is not a diplomat; he is not a negotiator; he is not a compromiser. He is a man of war who, ironically, was an ally of the CIA in the 1980s during the war in Afghanistan against the Soviets. He has been building his army and his tactics for decades with an absolutism that only elevating war to the realm of the holy can instill. He will kill until he himself is killed. When we eventually do this, as I assume we will, we must understand that in his place will arise myriad new Osama bin Ladens, equally committed, equally impassioned, equally ruthless. When one fights fire with fire, fire is not always vanquished. It can lead to a conflagration that burns beyond any borders, particularly if one is fighting a fire that is considered holy. As we seek his demise, it is perhaps worth reflecting on some truths provided by the Jewish holiday of Rosh Hashanah, now upon us. At the core of this commemoration of the Jewish New Year lies the story of Deborah, a woman judge of ancient Israel, whose leadership included the mourning of Sisera, the General against whom the Jews of the time were fighting. At the moment of victory against him and also in the midst of their grieving for their own dead, Deborah intuited that the pain of the mothers on the other side was just as intense as that of her own people. In this, she understood one of the great truths of all religions, that we are all one, which, if we can bear to think the thought, means that Osama bin Laden is us, and we are him, and we are all made of the same dust. Bush and bin Laden are caught up in the act of co-origination. In a deep and mysterious way there is a deep syn-
n September 11, 2001, we Americans lost our sense of invulnerability and joined in the universality of human suffering. Not only for a moment did the world become America, as so many noted, but America became the world. As we mourn our dead, let us also mourn the frailty of the human spirit and humanitys incapacity to be consistently humane. As painful as our agony is here, what America has just suffered is what others throughout the world have experienced, sometimes with even more devastating impact, and sometimes at the hands of Americans. People around the earth are caught up in a complexity of hatreds as both victims and victimizers: in Ireland, in the Middle East, in the Balkans, in Rwanda, in South Africa, in Afghanistan, in Cambodia, in Vietnam.
chronicity of opposites coming together between them with a force that, if we can endure and live through it, can potentially redeem us. Bin Ladens attacks came against the two icons of American power: global capitalism in the World Trade Center and U.S. military might in the Pentagon. Adding insult to injury, the hijackers used American technology to destroy American symbols, transforming American civilian airplanes into guided missiles against American institutions. Underestimating the enemy, American intelligence was caught completely unprepared. More deeply, the attack came against perhaps the most conservative administration in modern American history which has been systematically withdrawing from all multilateral agreements and treaties with the exception of those which increase American economic power. Paradoxically, the actions of September 11 were taken against the son of the man who organized the coalition of nations to fight Desert Storm, the catalytic point at which bin Laden turned his armies against the Untied States. History has bestowed upon George W. the task of organizing a coalition against the man that his fathers coalition turned into the enemy. The President, who is withdrawing from the world in order to maximize Americas freedom for unilateral actions in the world, has been met by the ultimate unilateralist: bin Laden. The superpower has met the super-empowered individual. To succeed, Bush the unilateralist must become the premier multilateralist. He must forge a coalition of nations against world terrorism like the world is trying to forge to deal with global warming, nuclear disarmament, trafficking in small arms, chemical and biological weapons, all coalitions and treaties from which he has disengaged. Perhaps the ultimate irony of this complex set of interactions is that this Administration might learn that global cooperation and global governance, meaning the alignments of nation states around rules and norms for international priorities, deliberation and commerce, actually serve the national security interests of the United States rather than threaten them. Working within the complexity of coalitions might enable us to tackle another complexity: that the war against
terrorism can only be truly won when we also declare war on the roots which cause such acts of barbarity: poverty, illiteracy, injustice, and disease. Terrorism does not arise in a vacuum but has it roots in historical, political, social and economic dysfunctions so deep, so cruel, so systemic that they create and sustain discontent until it spills over into a desperation that sees no recourse other than wanton destruction against those perceived as responsible for the plight of the terrorists. Unless there is an equally dedicated attack on the causes of terrorism, there will never be victory in the war against terrorism. Let us meet our measure of vengeance therefore with an equal measure of mercy.

In so doing, perhaps we can come to realize that the world is not simply a rough terrain that needs to be made flat in order to enable the global corporations, financial interests and entertainment industry to have a richer harvest. While good for business, free trade zones may not do justice to the complexity of the world ecology with all its voices, cultures, histories and traditions, all of which have their own unique legitimacy and all of which must be given their rightful place of honor. While at the level of politics we seek victory over terrorists, at the level of healing our redemption might come with our willingness to grapple with the complexities occurring around us: that when
opposites collide, they co-create; and it is precisely our ability to hold the opposites in a spirit of empathy and humility that generates the capacity for the redemption we seek. If out of the present crisis the United States emerges more connected with the rest of the world, more willing to compromise national sovereignty within the context of the needs of the larger community of nations, more willing to live cooperatively within coalitions than outside them, then light will have truly come from out of the darkness and redemption out of the recesses of hatred and war. In one of the deepest paradoxes of contemporary history, the present crisis might compel America to reconnect with the wellspring of values the rest of the world intuits it needs Americas leadership in order to achieve. If we can attain this level of understanding, we will have learned the wisdom of limits, that in an increasingly complex and interdependent world, no country is an island unique unto itself; and, since there are no longer frontiers to war, the only sustainable solution to hate is to stop the underlying causes that produce it, working within the community of nations to achieve goals that benefit the poor as well as the rich, the south as well as the north, the developing nations as well as those more advanced. Achieving this, America will fulfill the deepest yearning of one of its founding fathers, Benjamin Franklin, who wrote that he believed the real destiny of America would not be about power; it would be about light. These thoughts I pass your way, keenly aware that many might disagree. I am deeply sensitive to the fact that wisdom is a very elusive thing. We often have the experience but miss the meaning. It invariably comes slowly, painfully, and only after deep reflection. This is to say that my thoughts now will change as my subjective interaction with the event itself changes, as they will with the passage of time and the constant ebb and flow of the world situation. Americas Wake-Up Call

My wife and I sat stunned in front of our television as the unbelievable series of events unfolded. Like most Americans, we were horrified by the images of terror, pain and grief that came across our set. We have been gripped by the scope of this tragedy and
sympathize with those in New York, Pennsylvania and Washington D.C. who lost loved ones. Now America must respondbut how? What do we need to know about our enemies, about ourselves and about Gods purpose if we are to see victory in this land?
The Heart of Islam

It is important for us to realize that most of Americas six million Muslims are not terrorists. A majority, I believe,
are peace-loving and decent citizens who love this country. Although we as Biblebelieving Christians disagree with many of their religious beliefs and practices, and must not support them, it would be wrong to persecute Muslims for their faith. Rather, we must go out of our way to show them the love of Jesus Christ, hoping they will receive His gift of forgiveness and eternal life. Having said this, we must nevertheless be aware of the fact that Islam has historically been a bloody religion. This is part-
ly due to the strong influence of violent secret societies in Islamic culture and the wide acceptance of peripheral religious writings that promise a better place in paradise including a harem of 72 virgins for those men who die while taking the lives of unbelievers. It is also due to Islams holiest book, The Koran, which is militant in its views toward Christians and Jews. Consider the following quotes taken directly from The Koran: p. 2 of introduction (Islamic view of Jews & Christians) The Koran accuses the Jews of corrupting the Scriptures and the Christians of worshipping Jesus as the son of God, although He had expressly commanded them to worship none but Him. Surah 5:51 (No friendship with Jews or Christians) Believers, take neither the Jews nor the Christians for your friends. They are friends with one another. Whoever of you
seeks their friendship shall become one of their number. God does not guide the wrongdoers. Surah 9:73 (Make war on unbelievers) Prophet, make war on the unbelievers and the hypocrites and deal rigorously with them. Hell shall be their home: an evil fate. Surah 9:5 (Slay the idolaters/ unbelievers) When the sacred months are over slay the idolaters wherever you find them. Arrest them, besiege them, and lie in ambush everywhere for them. Surah 5:33-34 (Enemies should be slain or crucified) Those that make war against God (Allah) and His apostle (Muhammad) and spread disorder in the land shall be slain or crucified or have their hands and feet cut off on alternate sides, or be banished from the land. Surah 47:3-6 (Behead the enemy) This, because the unbelievers follow falsehood, while the faithful follow

The Goal of Terrorism

I first became a student of global religious and political trends during the 1980s when I was the Europe and Middle East Trade Specialist for the government of Indiana. My travels took me to over 20 countries where I worked hand-in-hand with U.S. Embassy personnel who were responsible for arranging most of my meetings. Through my contacts at the embassies and in the international business community, I soon discovered that there was a concerted effort underway to establish a one-world government. A push was also being launched to unify the worlds religions into one collective whole. Various Interfaith/New Age meetings were being planned to make this happen. I wrote about these developments in my two books En Route to Global Occupation and The New World Religion in an attempt to warn the world, particularly Christians, of things to come. If we were forewarned, we could perhaps become spiritually prepared for the difficult times ahead. As a result of my research, I became fully convinced that terrorism is an important part of the one-world agenda. I believe Satan is using it to apply pressure on Western society to get people to go along with a solution that under normal circumstances they would never accept. If humans could be brought to the point where they thought the world was on the verge of destruction, then perhaps they might finally be willing to embrace a one-world political/religious system promising to bring peace while solving Earths many problems. If this conclusion is accurate, then we can be certain that Osama bin Laden and his Taliban supporters are not acting alone. The Al Qaeda network of terrorists is vast and has a large secret support base throughout the Islamic realm and around the world. During my years with the government I discovered that secret societies are a big part of Middle Eastern culture (and have a significant influence in other nations too). The most dominant of these societies is Freemasonry. A prominent Arab-Christian leader in Lebanon once told me that King Assad of Syria was a Mason. The problem is, if they keep their innermost beliefs to themselves,
how do we distinguish those Muslims who accept all of The Korans teachings from those who do not. If only one in a thousand were willing to kill for their faith we could be in serious trouble. I would not be surprised if there are hundreds, if not thousands, of potential Islamic terrorists in this country at this very momentnot a pleasant thought! Our leaders will need great wisdom and discernment to deal with this delicate situation. How does one protect peaceloving Muslims while punishing those who approve of terrorism, if one cannot

Recently while doing a talk show in California, the host, Dr. Stan Monteith, told me that he now has documentation proving that Gorbachev became a Mason while in England. The fact is, secret societies have an ultimate goal. This is why they exist and why they are secret. (As is the case with Muslims, many Masons are naively involved and have no idea of what their order is about at its highest levels.) On pages 144-145 of En Route to Global Occupation, I wrote about their hidden agenda: In August 1871, Albert Pike, the head of Scottish Rite Freemasonry described a distant final war, which he felt would be necessary to usher in the New World Order. According to Pike, this conflict between two future superpowers would be sparked by first igniting a crisis between Islam and Judaism. He went on to state: We shall unleash the nihilists and the atheists and we shall provoke a great social cataclysm which, in all its horror, will show clearly to all nations the effect of absolute atheism, the origin of savagery and of most bloody turmoil. Then, everywhere, the people, forced to defend themselves against the world minor-
ity of revolutionaries, will exterminate those destroyers of civilization; and the multitudes, disillusioned with Christianity whose deistic spirits will be from that moment on without direction and leadership, anxious for an ideal but without knowledge where to send its adoration, will receive the true light through the universal manifestation of the pure doctrine of Lucifer, brought finally out into public view; a manifestation which will result from a general reactionary movement which will follow the destruction of Christianity and atheism, both conquered and exterminated at the same time. I continued to write, Should such a crisis be permitted to occur, the amount of destruction would be staggering. Humanity would tremble with fear believing that man is about to destroy himself It would be a time of despair and mass confusion. Add to this the resulting chaos of global financial markets, which are already on the brink of disaster; the economic turmoil would only contribute to the worlds state of panic. Once such a war began, there would be no guarantee that the United States or Europe would remain entirely unscathed. I penned these words in
1987. The book went to print in 1991. I had no idea how close this depiction might eventually come to reality.
Americas Destiny
Where does America fit in, and what role, if any, is it playing in shaping the emerging global government? During the last century our beloved country has been blessed beyond measure. By the grace of God and through His favor, it has risen to become the wealthiest and most powerful nation on Earth. filled its destiny in the eyes of global planners? How might the answer to this question affect our future? If global leaders still have a purpose for America in their overall scheme of things, then perhaps we have a bit more time. But, if in their eyes, we have achieved our purpose, then we are expendable and could soon be eliminated from the picture. I addressed these possibilities in En Route to Global Occupation. Regarding the fate of America, I wrote: Having gained some idea of Americas role in building the New World Order, the only remaining question I had was What will happen to the U.S. once it has fulfilled its mission? There is some disagreement among researchers on this question. Some believe that once we have entered the New World Order, Europe will be made the headquarters of the world government. Others believe that the seat of power for the world government will be in the United States, specifically in New York City. As things currently stand, New York would be the logical choice to be the worlds capitol, given the fact that it is the most powerful and influential city in the world and that the United Nations, the Council on Foreign Relations, and the Trilateral Commission are all headquartered there. However, the secret hierarchy of Europe, which is still ultimately in charge, might have different plans. If they intend to locate the world capitol in Europe, they will find a way to do so. Such a decision, however, would probably involve either the economic devastation or physical destruction of New York City. This could be accomplished in several ways economically, through a planned collapse of the stock market or a severe depression resulting from our excessive national debt; or physically, as an act of terrorism, as a nuclear accident, or through a limited nuclear war. Whatever method would be selected, the European hierarchy, I believe, would be capable of carrying it out (if God allows it). Is New York destined for destruction? I dont know the answer to this question, nor do I wish such a fate upon the people of that city. (page 65) The current unfolding crisis could determine Americas future, one way or the other. Maybe the purpose of the recent attacks was merely to give America the opportunity to further lead the way in uniting the world against a common enemy terrorism. At this very moment an unprecedented international coalition is being built to combat this terrible menace. But could this coalition and the steps it puts in motion actually help speed the cause of global government? extremely careful, these measures could be used to further empower the existing international infrastructure, leading us more quickly to world government.
Interfaithism
Septembers atrocities are producing another result. The spirit of Interfaithism is running at an all time high in America. Every religious service I have witnessed on network television during the last two weeks has been Interfaith in nature. The eventual success of a world government will depend heavily on the degree of religious unity it can achieve throughout the world. Chapters 13 & 14, of Revelation, describe a global political system that will use its economic and military might to enforce a deceptive form of religious worship. Once in place, this corrupt Antichrist system will become so invincible that only the return of Jesus Christ will stop it (II Thessalonians, chapter 2). We have considered one potential scenario for America; but another possibility exists. If America has fulfilled her purpose for the cause of globalism, the coming war could be a trap designed to bring her to ruin. How could this happen? Lets consider a potential sequence of events.

Civil liberties
The worlds unified response to terrorism, no matter how restrained, will only serve to strengthen the hand of government at the expense of personal liberty. It will lead to higher taxes, increased surveillance, less privacy and fewer freedoms, to say nothing of the many smaller inconveniences such as having to arrive two hours early at airports for flight travel. All of these are natural responses by governments to protect their citizens, but represent a victory for terrorists nonetheless. If national governments arent
Future Posibilities
In the very near future America will undoubtedly retaliate for the evil perpetrated against her. Bin Laden expects nothing less and will use Americas response to unify Islamic fundamentalists. He and his supporters will do so by declaring a Jihad (holy war). When this declaration goes forth a sizable segment of the Islamic population, not only in the Mideast, but elsewhere, could respond. If so, a second and unprecedented wave of terrorism would hit the U.S. and, possibly, Israel. But this would be just the beginning. After multiple rounds of terrorist acts potentially ranging from biological/chemical warfare to the detonation of nuclear devices the impact on U.S. citizens and the economy would be devastating. Completely preoccupied with managing these disasters, and in a state of dis-
array, America would be in her weakest hour. If Americas historical enemies (Russia and China) were ever to make a move, this would be the time. As unthinkable as it may seem, they could use such an opportunity to finish us off. We have been led to believe that we are the worlds only remaining superpower; but nothing could be further from the truth. A number of former Soviet military leaders some of them now Christians have warned the United States that while Russia appears to be economically weak, from a military standpoint she is stronger than ever. The fact is, Russia has been engaged in a concerted military build-up while we have been scaling back. In my book The New World Religion, I document numerous aggressive statements made by Mikhail Gorbachev since the beginning of glasnost and perestroika. None is more troubling than the following. Speaking to the Politburo in 1987, he remarked: Gentlemen, comrades, do not be concerned about all you hear about glasnost and perestroika and democracy in the coming years. These are primarily for outward consumption. There will be no significant internal change within the Soviet Union, other than for cosmetic purposes. Our purpose is to disarm the Americans and let them fall asleep. (page 135) Gorbachev is not alone in his views. There are still forces in Russia (as well as China) who would love to see America brought down. Fortunately, a third and more optimistic scenario exists for the United States. If we, as a nation, repented of our sins beginning with you and me and if we humbled ourselves before God, I believe He would restore His protective covering over our nation and delay our doom, as He did with Nineveh many centuries ago. Our repentance would have to be genuine and come from our leadership down. However, the clock is ticking. Time is short!
the rest of this year and beyond are specifically designed to give teeth to the United Nations and the cause of world government. Global planners are covering all of the basesfrom economics and Interfaith religion to issues of sovereignty, gun control, and laws on how to rear children. Paramount to the success of their globalization efforts is the publics acceptance of their extensive environmental program, which is intended to be the main vehicle for achieving UN empowerment. The core document of their agenda is the Earth Charter, viewed as the Magna Carta of the new-world civilization. The chief spokesperson on behalf of the Charter is Mikhail Gorbachev. Gorbachev officially unveiled the Charter during a formal ceremony in Urbino, Italy on June 8th. He hopes to get his Charter cleared through the UN by the end of next year, after which he expects to move forward with the rapid implementation of global government. If the U.S. doesnt cooperate in helping to empower the UN, Gorbachev and his allies have hinted that the world government might be constructed around a united Europe instead, with Russia at the helm.
Enter the Vatican

Working closely with Gorbachev on this agenda is Pope John Paul II. In The New World Religion, I share excerpts from a Denver Post article in which Gorbachev describes his special relationship with the pope: I have carried on an intensive correspondence with Pope John Paul II since we met at the Vatican in December 1989 The sense of mutual affection and understanding which resulted from our meeting is to be found in each of our letters. I cannot help but say that we share a desire to move forward and complete what we began together When I was with him, I realized that the pope had also played a role in what we came to call the new political thinking What I have always held in high esteem about the popes thinking and ideas is their spiritual content, their striving to foster the development of a new world civilization.
Besides being pope, John Paul II is also a Slav, and, of course, that too was conducive to our mutual understanding. However, I remain convinced that the closeness of spirit that was established between us was of much greater significance than the fact that we both are Slavs It can be said that everything which took place in Eastern Europe in recent years would have been impossible without the Popes efforts and the enormous role, including the political role, which he played in the world arena (page 241). Gorbachevs friendship with the pope has not been in vain. On November 4th and 5th of last year, unbeknownst to the public, the pope hosted an unprecedented global planning session. The Vatican web page referred to the event as a meeting of the worlds parliament. With prominent European Union officials, thousands of members of national parliaments, and powerful dignitaries such as Gorbachev in attendance, this meeting eclipsed even the prestigious UN Millennium Summit as the most important gathering of political leaders last year. Amazingly, to the best of our knowledge, not one American television network covered the event. Along with playing a critical role in the push for global government the pope has been at center-stage in Mideast diplomacy, meeting with Yasser Arafat and numerous other Arab leaders in the last 18 months. Earlier this year the pope even visited an Islamic Mosque in Syria. Western diplomats, recognizing the Church of Romes influence, have regularly consulted with Vatican officials over the Jewish/Islamic dilemma. The end-time alliances spoken of in the book of Revelation are quickly taking shape; the march toward a new-world civilization is gaining momentum. Support Grows for Unilateral Separation
With no end in sight for Middle East violence, the idea of unilateral separation is gaining support in Israel and among commentators in the United States. Such support has accelerated all the more since September 11th. Israelis, both right and left, believe the only rational answer is to draw and impose their own well-defended borders. The army already has the material to build a fence between Israel and Palestinian controlled areas. If such a solution is implemented and then confirmed by a World Community leader, it could be the event called the confirmation of the covenant that begins the final seven years to Armageddon. Since the Palestinian intifada began 14 months ago, the Jewish population in Judea-Samaria has grown by 17,000 and is in the process of absorbing about 300 more families, according to the Council of Jewish Communities. Population now stands at 227,000. Jewish presence in the area known as the occupied territories or West Bank, has been one of the major points of contention between Israelis and Palestinians. The intifada was intended to reduce the settler population. It does not appear to be working. minister Rehavam Zeevi may have been the straw that broke the camels back. As far as I am concerned, said Sharon, the era of Arafat is over. Sharon is openly talking of war. Under the surface there is talk of assassination. Palestinian Authority security chief Col. Jibril Rajoub, who controls a powerful force of 2,500 agents in the West Bank, has presented himself as leading contender to succeed the still-living PLO chief. In October, he met with U.S. and European diplomats frequently. Reportedly, Rajoub has close intelligence ties with Israel, the U.S. and the EU. 480,000 troops will be redeployed to the Asia-Pacific region as part of a new Bush administration strategy. Presumably, China is on everyones mind. The announcement came prior to the September 11 attacks. An early October Pentagon report calls the boost in American military presence in Asia in preparation for a possible confrontation with China. In the wake of this announcement, however, the U.S. relocated its only remaining aircraft carrier in the region to the Arabian Sea to be closer to Afghanistan. On August 24, the Chinese military flight-tested a medium-range nuclear missile in the finale to its nations largest war games in years. The missile had a dummy warhead. The maneuvers involved over 100,000 troops and amphibious assaults on a practice island. A pro-Beijing report stated that Chinas troops were prepared for any possible interference from Taiwan and the U.S. Two days prior to this, the U.S. conducted exercises in the South China Sea with two of its aircraft carriers. U.S. intelligence agencies report that China now has over 350 short-range missiles at a base just opposite Taiwan. Paul Wolfowitz, Deputy Defense Secretary, calls the buildup destabilizing. Deputy Secretary of State Richard Armitage explained to Australia in no uncertain terms that the U.S. would expect military help in any conflict in the Taiwan Strait. DEBKAfile, an Israeli-based intelligence source, has been reporting that thousands of armed Muslim Chinese militia have been pouring over the Afghan border to aid the Taliban, and that 15 have been killed. No other independent news source has verified the reports to date, so we remain unsure of its validity. If true, however, it could have extreme implications on U.S.-Chinese
Lest We Forget Gorbachev

World statesman, Mikhail Gorbachev, kicked in his two cents worth on October 20th, by warning that the U.S.-led international coalition against terror must become a coalition for a new world order if it is to succeed. He said developing nations must be helped to overcome poverty. Gorbachev further advised that the UN Security Council should take the initiative in developing programs to this end, including worldwide nuclear and chemical disarmament with control over the remaining stockpiles to be in the safe hands of the UN. Chris Patten, the EUs external affairs commissioner, says that wealth redistribution is a weapon against terror. This same sentiment is echoed by countless other elite intellectuals around the world.

EU commissioner Frits Bolkenstein is proposing a common tax system for all 15 EU member nations. President Jacque Chirac has called for an EU constitution by 2004. EU/Unification: German Chancellor Gerhard Schroeder has called for the introduction of ethical political principles and international order to be established in the financial markets. Former leader Helmut Kohl acknowledged that the euro makes European unification irreversible. EU/Currency: An estimated 210 billion in counterfeit euros are expected to be laundered into the new European money supply. Better off for the euro to stay cashless? EU/Foreign Policy: French Foreign Minister Hubert Vedrine accused the U.S. of self-interest and high-handed unilateralism, this even before September 11. The word, unilateralism, is a diplomatic term used in the negative sense describing one who is against globalism and therefore, by implication, against world peace. No nation is to act unilaterally these days. This means that to exercise sovereignty without full consensus from the International Community is a no-no. Where then is sovereignty? EU/Language: France and Germany
are unhappy with the European Commissions attempt to impose English as the dominant language of the EU. The Bible prophesies, however, that the language of the New World Order will be English. This is signified by the mouth of the lion in the combined world government beast of Revelation 13:1-3. The lion represents Great Britain. EU/Russia: British head Tony Blair is declaring a new era in relations between his country and Russia. Both nations are represented in the Revelation 13 beast the lion and bear. Vladimir Putins intensive post-September 11 lobbying efforts have placed Russia a hairs breadth away from joining NATO. Such a development will further cement the fulfillment of the endtime one-world government beast.
The Electronic Privacy Information Center is raising many concerns over the pending legislation, not the least of which is that the bill would authorize the use of Carnivore an internet-tracking system that has been deemed by many in the past to be so intrusive, it is clearly unconstitutional. But at this point, who can say no?
Anti-Muslim Witch Hunt

It happened before September 11th: Anti-terrorism agents from the FBI searched the offices of a Middle Eastern Internet service provider in Texas. U.S. Muslim leaders criticized the action as a witch-hunt and the result of pro-Israeli intimidation. Since September 11, there has been no further comment from Muslim leaders on this subject. One of the clients of the net provider, InfoCom Corp., is the Al-Jazeera satellite television network. Al-Jazeera has come under scrutiny for what some consider questionable journalistic practices, including classifying the September 11 hijackers as terrorists, while calling Palestinian suicide bombers, martyrs.
Patriot Bill Gives Unprecedented Powers

By the time you read this, the Patriot Act may have passed both houses of Congress and signed into law by President Bush. Patriot, an acronym for Provide Appropriate Tools Required to Intercept and Obstruct Terrorism, would make it easier for the FBI to get secret wiretaps against suspected terrorists, as well as to monitor e-mail and internet use believed relevant to a criminal investigation. It would also allow authorities to search homes and property with a warrant, but without informing the owner until three months later if it is believed that doing so would harm an investigation. The Patriot Act would also penalize American banks from dealing with foreign banks thought to have terrorist ties, and change immigration laws to allow suspected foreign terrorists to be held for seven days without bail, without charges being filed.

Researchers have called it the biggest group of cancers ever from a single incident, saying that millions were affected and the biggest numbers are still to come. 3rd Trumpet... European police captured it in a nutshell: Total control requires total surveillance. And so shall the mark of the beast...

Conference Attendance Up Since 9/11
Attendance figures at Irvin Baxter Jr.s Prophecy Conferences since September 11 have been eclipsing all previous records. Over 1,000 came out to hear the latest in Odessa, Texas on October 18. Prior to that, South Houston saw 1,300 two consecutive nights; 500 came out on a Wednesday in Austin, and another 500 in the smaller community of Altus, Oklahoma. The increased interest is attributed to people wanting to better understand the prophetic implications of the terror attack on America. With such uncertainty of where events may be leading, Irvin Baxters new book, The China War & The Third Temple, has come into high demand as well.

Rather than taking a current events perspective, the video presents the prophetic principles that people should be tracking in the news as time marches on.
