ON EXAM DAY, YOU MUST . . . ** Bring Photo Identification to each examination.

If you do not bring Photo ID, you may be turned away. ** Be sure to know your Personal Education Number (PEN #) BEFORE writing an exam. (Your PEN Number is the 9 digit number located at the top of your most recent report card. PROVINCIAL EXAMINATION RULES 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. 6. 7. 8. 9. 10. Candidates must be in their appointed seats at least ten minutes prior to the examination starting time. There are multiple forms for exams (e.g., Biology 12 Form A, Biology 12 Form B). Students MUST ensure the students exam booklet form code (e.g., A,B) is filled in on the students answer sheet and/or response booklet. No Candidate shall leave an examination room until 90 minutes after the examination was scheduled to be started. (The morning exam students may not leave until 10:00 a.m., the afternoon exam students may not leave until 2:00 p.m.) Any candidate who leaves an examination room shall NOT return for the duration of the examination. In special circumstances, candidates may be allowed to leave the examination room temporarily, but only under supervision. Any candidate who is over thirty minutes late for an examination shall not be admitted to the examination room. (e.g., morning exam students shall NOT be admitted after 9:00 a.m.; afternoon exam students shall NOT be admitted after 1:00 p.m.) Any candidate who is late for an examination is not allowed to make up the missed time at the end of the exam session. It is the candidates responsibility to be present at the scheduled examination time. This regulation must be strictly enforced. Mistakes in reading the timetable do not justify the late administration of examinations. Candidates shall not write their name, initials, the school name, or any sign or mark of identification other than their Ministry Student ID numbers on their booklets or Response Forms unless the identification information needs correction. Candidates should read the examination instructions before beginning the exam. These instructions are found on the first inside page of the exam booklet. Candidates should not turn to the second inside page of the booklet (i.e. the first page of the exam questions) until the examination is officially in progress. Candidates shall start the examination only after the order to begin is given. No candidate shall give or receive assistance of any kind during the examination. Candidates are not allowed to take into the examination room any book paper, or anything else which might assist them, nor should candidates be issued any books, or loose-leaf in the exam. Candidates may be given Ministry produced Video Note sheets for use during the video component of the French 12 and Francais-Langue 12 examinations. The Video Notes must be returned to the invigilator at the end of the examination. If a student breaks any of these regulations, the invigilator will seize his or her examination papers immediately. The examination papers, together with any other seized materials, should then be forwarded to the Board of Examiners, care of the Director of the Examinations Branch. Calculators are permitted for only some exams. Students should check with their subject teachers or the Ministry of Education Website at: http://www.bced.gov.bc.ca/exams/specs/calculator_policy.pdf At the end of examination, the order to stop writing must be obeyed immediately. All examination papers completed or attempted must be handed in promptly to the invigilator for return to the Ministry. Do not bring any electronic devise (except approved calculators) to the exam. You may bring bottled water for your own use. If you are writing an Electronic Exam, you are strongly encouraged to write a practice exam. These practice exams are available on line at the following address: http://www.bced.gov.bc.ca/eassessment/grad_practice.htm Students cannot have any notes, scrap paper, or textbooks with them while writing the exam. Students must do all their work on the exam materials provided and turn these in when they have completed the exam.
