Welcome back and a Happy New Year to you all!

I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and New Year and you have noticed that your children are getting back into the swing of waking up and getting sleepy earlier. It has been a good start to the year and there will be many great things to look back on by the time term ends in July. This kicks off with a trip for Years 1, 2 and 3 to the Science Museum next week as they explore their new Enrichment Time topic. Please remember to keep up with the blog and do like us on Facebook. Whats not to like! If Ive not seen you already this year, I look forward to seeing you soon. Have a great weekend. Rob.

In Nursery Class this week the children have been looking at themselves with the topic All about Me. In these photos, they were creating tally charts of the different eye colours of their friends and they will be looking at old photos of when they were babies, their families and how they live.

The children in Reception Class have been enjoying yoga classes on our brand new yoga mats! They have particularly liked learning fun animal poses and in the meantime developing their strength, co-ordination, body awareness as well as listening skills and self-esteem. There are still some places available in Yoga Club on Fridays! Roll up, roll up.....

In Year 1 (and Year 2) they were introduced to their new Enrichment Time topic Reach for the

Stars and as well as beginning to look at space and the planets, they also looked at their ambitions for what they currently want to do when theyre older. The children featured below want to be footballers, play the piano and be a queen of the animals and drive a bus.

In Year 2 this week we started the topic of Reach for the Stars (Space) and the

children were looking at how Earth is the optimum place for life to grow and that other planets, because of the climate differences (among other things) affected this. Here are the children trying out their own Venus, Earth and Saturn planets at different temperatures!

We wanted to see how the children would settle back into school after three weeks off, so the Stars of the Week went to children who seamlessly got back into the flow of school and showed motivation to make a great start to the year. Well done to these children! Next week the focus is on playground behaviour, kindness, sharing and enjoying our facilities responsibly. The Musician of the Week goes to Robyn in Nursery Class. Her behaviour and level of effort during Tuesday's music session was amazing! She really enjoyed singing Auld Lang Syne and took part in the dance with enthusiasm. Well done you! The Artist of the Week goes to Olivia M in Nursery Class for her brilliant self-portrait she drew in conjunction with Nursery Class topic All about Me. Lovely work Olivia!
