Far fewer children die in childhood because hygiene and medical treatment have improved, and it has led to an increased population. The population has doubled in the last 100 years as there are far more old people than before so that the diseases of old age are more important. 2. Testing students by examinations is unfair because it has a very limited time to investigate all abilities students have and moreover, possibly the students are not in best condition when they are taking the test , so as the result they have a lower score then they actually can get. However, it is not easy to abolish them as the universities or schools have not found another better system to evaluate the students abilities or their academic ahievements in a certain period. 3. a. Agriculture is a science which is important to a man because without agriculture we could not feed ourselves. Man may eat some food made from plastics in the future because food crops like wheat and rice will never be replaced. Moreover, some types of meat may disappear because they require a lot of animal food to produce. b. Energy can not be created or destroyed but it can be converted into other forms although it is never completely efficient as it is changed into unwanted forms. A car engine converts part of energy into mechanical power when it is contained in the fuel, and as the result, much of it is changed into heat. 4. Geography:

Antartica, The Coldest Continent

Antartica is the only continent which the land is permanently discovered by very thick ice. It is 3000 km in wide and length, and it lies between Ross and Wedell Sea. It has no permanent population, even hundreds of scientists live there temporarily as many scientific stations were built in the whole of the continent, and one of them is South Pole Station which locates in the middle of it. In summer time the temperature is around 0 C degree, while in winter time is about 30 to -60 C degree (the sea freeze). There are very few plants, but we can find many kinds of birds , for example penguins, and fish, and it has copper and lead eventhough they are not mined.
