The Baptism of the Lord

When Jesus came to John to be baptized, John resisted proclaiming his unworthiness. Jesus insisted and John obeyed. We too, must not let our unworthiness stand in the way of the Lords leading. False humility does not serve to the Lord. Listen, obey and see what God will do. 320 Holy Hours were kept with our Lord in Eucharistic Adoration. Day and night Jesus dwells in the Blessed Sacrament because of His infinite love for you! "Behold I will be with you always even to the end of the world," because "I have loved you with an everlasting love, and constant is My affection for you." (Mt 28:20; Jer 31:3) Help is needed to cover hours on Friday from 7-8 am and then 3-4 pm. Please call Judy Soltis at 330-212-0926 if you are able to assist with just one hour. Many hands make light work. Todays second collection is for The Catholic University of America, the national university of the Catholic Church in the United States, located in Washington, D.C. Thank you to Steve Charlson and Mike Getz who made the time the week before Christmas to load and deliver the Giving Tree gifts to Family Promise. Family Promise was happily surprised to receive the quantity and quality of gifts. Thank you, generous parishioners!
The Bible says that Christians will be known by their love. Much love was expressed during the Christmas season at St. Augustine. I would like to again thank everyone who contributed in any way to the Christmas Day Dinner and/or through the St. Augustine Women of Faith collection of items for the Elizabeth Ministry. Your generosity of time, talent, and treasure cannot be measured (humanly). I also want to again acknowledge the generosity of Carl Hiss of Hiss Bakery and John Kriston of Green Diamond Grille & Pub for their continued donation of bread and turkey for the Christmas Day Dinner. Scripture tells us that our love must be manifest in our deeds, not merely our words. Thank you and God bless you! Karen Bellett, Pastoral Associate
