Elect 4 Clergy Deputies and 4 Clergy Alternates; Elect 4 Lay Deputies and 4 Lay Alternates. Description of duties: As voting representatives of the diocese, attend the 78th General Convention of the Episcopal Church, to be held June 25-July 3, 2015, in Salt Lake City, Utah.

The Rev. By being a deputy to General Convention, Carol will seek to enter into meaningful and honest conversation with the members of our Church while remaining true to both the Gospel of Jesus Christ and the desires and goals of our bishops and the Diocese of West Texas. If elected to serve as a deputy, Carol hopes to be a contributing member and vital part of the whole deputation and help bring healing and clarity to the broader Church and to our diocesan relationship to our brothers and sisters in Christ. The Rev. Ben Nelson, Rector, St. Marks, San Marcos Qualifications: Ben is a lifelong Episcopalian committed to grace-filled growth and transformation in the Church. He has a passion for youth and young adult ministries as well as mission and outreach. Ben would bring an enthusiastic love for the Good News in Christ proclaimed by the Episcopal Church around the world. He is a strong match for this office because of his commitment to faithful discernment and thoughtful decision making. Rob Schneider, member of Holy Spirit, Dripping Springs Qualifications: Robs long tenure and involvement in the Episcopal Church makes him a natural fit for General Convention deputy.
