AMALGAMATED XENOLOGICAL ENTERPRISES: SIGNIFICANT ZENOTECH ACQUISITIONS [FY-2501] This summary details some of the noteworthy discoveries made by AXE Exploration Teams (EF) 1 & 3 and AXE Intersect & Procurement Group Gamma (IPGG). COVERT MORPHIC BLADE (ET 1-04) Classification/Category: Close Combat Weapon Description: Found at the base of Olympus Mons in an ancient meteor crater, these interesting finds appear to be nothing more than 18 inch long, smooth, hollow tubes fashioned from an unknown metallic alloy. Researchers have discovered when these items are placed close to another metal based implement such as a hammer or other hand tool; the artifact automatically adopts the shape of the nearby object, mimicking its form perfectly. Most have been found alongside morphic, armoured vests created of the same material.

Effects: Activation of the device requires the wielder to believe she is in imminent danger of harm. It is believed the device somehow reads the users biosignature triggers (i.e. increased production of adrenalin, rapid heartbeat, etc.) and responds accordingly. When activated, the two hollow ends of the device project dual, razor sharp blades of virtual particles visible only to the wielder. Imperceptible to adversaries, the invisible blades reduce an enemys Defense Score by 3 points and ignore 4 points of AV. A Covert Blade functions as a double-bladed short sword in close combat. D6 + 1.5 x Strength Close Combat Rate 4 EMP Immune

Side Effects: While a covert blade is activated, persistent energy fluctuations occur in a 30 metre area radius around the wielder. System: There is a 30% chance for energy-dependent equipment to stop functioning temporarily for D4 rounds while a covert blade is activated (Does not include cybernetic implants). MORPHIC ARMOUR VEST (ET 1-05) Classification/Category: Light Armour Vest Description: Often found with covert morphic blades, these highly malleable, armoured vests automatically conform to a wearers size and body shape. Effects: Besides adapting to a wearers physique, these items are capable of adopting the appearance of any type of normal clothing or light armour located within a 2 metre area. The vest retains its new form until the wearer believes herself in danger reverting to its true function as a light armoured vest providing AV 2 vs. most forms of damage and AV 5 vs. kinetic based attacks. Bystanders observing SMART round impacts against a morphic vest liken the effect to rippling water waves across its surface.

Side Effects: Like the covert morphic blade, there is a 30% chance for energy-dependent equipment to stop functioning for D4 rounds when the vest is functioning as armour (Does not include cybernetic implants). If the wearer is also wielding a covert morphic blade the chance for equipment malfunction rises to 50%). XENO DATA GRAFT (ET 3-09) Classification/Category: Utility Description: A half dozen of these relics were recovered from a secondary archeological site on Venus and superficially resemble the better known Calanri Disks but are more durable and much rarer. Effects: These items are activated when applied to a sentient creatures head. When held in position for a few seconds nano-filaments painlessly burrow through the skull and into the recipients brain placing them into a deep coma. Over the next several hours the device reworks the brains neural architecture, rerouting and cross-linking neuron chains to form new synapse nodes. When the process is complete the now useless disk becomes inert and drops from the recipients head. When later awakened, the beneficiary discovers she now has a greater understanding in relation to various forms of xenotech and related scientific principles. This newfound knowledge appears to a result of the data graft imparting specific forms of advanced knowledge using methods similar to those used by human process and task chip technology.

System: The user gains +2 to their Intelligence score and cannot critically fail on any science or mechtronic action totals relating to the use or study of xenotech (GM discretion as to when this applies). Also, approximately 60% of these items possess additional knowledge which is also bestowed upon the recipient of the graft. This could be anything from detailed blueprints for an alien version of a gravtank to recipes for exquisite alien cuisine. Side Effects: The user becomes somewhat dispassionate and more distant to her fellow human beings (-1 to Presence). Additionally, during sleep or when mentally tired individuals exposed to the effects of a data graft will unconsciously speak out, uttering incomprehensible litanies, forgotten remnants of a dead alien language (What this entails, if anything, is up to the GM). MASS SHIELD (IPGG-09) Classification/Category: Utility Description: Discovered in an abandoned helium 3 mine on Luna, this unique item resembles a small, convex shaped shield formed from some extremely heavy, gray metallic alloy of unknown composition. An indented, double-handed grip is centered seamlessly along the back of the device. Each indentation is of a different depth and spaced just far apart for one or two fingers to press easily. Effects: Tremendously heavy, this item requires a Strength of 8 to carry and two hands to manipulate the indentations on the grip. Pressing the indentations in the correct sequence create a powerful gravity field which can be used to attract, repel or hold motionless weights up to 3000 kg. Oddly, objects weighing more than 3000 kg are completely unaffected. System: When activated the shield creates a cone of gravitic force affecting an area 25 metres in diameter out to approximately 50 metres. Objects weighing less than 3000 kg are automatically affected and can be held stationary or pulled forward or repelled at a rate of 25 metres per round. When used to repel, all objects regardless of weight, within the area of effect take the corresponding amount of damage listed below. Side Effects: If used more than once during a given scene there is a 30% chance of fluctuating gravity fields affecting a 50 metre radius centered on the wielder (Every object and person within the area of effect suffer 4D10 damage and a random pulping attack if 2 or more dice roll maximum damage (a 10).
