COMFORTABLY SPORTIVE
Born from Aprilias winning experience on race tracks all over the world, the powerful Caponord 1200 engine has been optimised for maximum comfort and riding enjoyment, thanks to the smooth and progressive delivery of power, even at low rev and high torque values, without compromising on equally unparalleled control and manageability, thanks to the Rideby-Wire system and the advanced Aprilia electronics package that also includes Traction Control, Cruise Control, ADD (Aprilia Dynamic Damping) suspension and ABS.

A liquid-cooled 90 longitudinal V-Twin with double overhead camshaft driven by a mixed gear-chain system providing a reduction in overall dimensions. The new throttle bodies with double injectors per cylinder, combined with the twin-spark ignition system, provide a more fluid and smooth delivery and almost 11.7 kgm of maximum torque at 6800 rpm/min starting form low revs; According to an almost flat curve that lets you perceive the exuberant and uncompromising character of this bike from the very first moment. IDEAL TORQUE The ultra-modern engine of the Caponord 1200 has a sophisticated electronic Ride-by-Wire system that allows you to deliver the correct torque at every moment, both when driving in the city as well as on country or mountain roads, all to the benefit of enjoyment, comfort and fuel consumption. HYDRAULIC CLUTCH Another technologically advanced solution: the hydraulic clutch always provides precise and perfectly smooth release. In addition, being self-adjusting, it needs no maintenance.

ADVANCED INSTRUMENTATION Fully digital, the Caponord 1200 instrumentation allows you to keep everything under control: selected engine mapping, electrical adjustment of the spring preload, gear position, level of adjustment of the ATC system and functioning of the optional heated grips.

PURE RIDING PLEASURE

THE FIRST DYNAMIC SHOCK ABSORBER IN THE BIKE WORLD The ADD system, included in the Caponord 1200 Travel Pack, also includes the shock absorber with built-in piggy back, with electrically adjustable spring preload in 4 preset positions, marked with a specific icon on the digital instrumentation: rider only, rider with passenger, rider only with panniers, rider and passenger with panniers. An exclusive patent of the Aprilia system is the automatic spring preload control system. Selecting this option, the system automatically detects the load on board the bike and dynamically adjusts the preload to the optimal value for the correct balance of the bike.

CRUISE CONTROL: NO STRESS. The Travel Pack also includes Cruise Control, to set a desired speed and keep it constant, even uphill and downhill, automatically deactivating it as soon as the rider touches the brake, clutch or Cruise Control button. A very useful system during long journeys on the motorway, to make riding even less tiring and reduce fuel consumption even further.

ADD (APRILIA DYNAMIC DAMPING): PURE RIDING PLEASURE. Aprilia, as always, is at the absolute forefront in technology, introducing the ADD (Aprilia Dynamic Damping) electronic suspension control system, able to measure the energy transmitted to the vehicle by the roughness of the asphalt and adapt, in real time, the calibration of the fork and shock absorber for optimal comfort. The ADD system exploits a patented comfort oriented software, which combines the principles of the well-known skyhook and acceleration driven damping algorithms. The system also recognises the riders actions (acceleration, gas release, braking, constant gas) and adapts, thanks to an additional exclusive patent, the basic setting of the fork and shock absorber, in order to optimise rideability and increase safety in every situation.

HANDLING MASTERPIECE

The splendid frame of the Caponord 1200, in aluminium and steel, is derived directly from Aprilias racing technology and its successful experience on race tracks around the world, optimised for relaxed and at the same time enjoyable riding. The rear sub-frame provides extreme solidity even when travelling at full load. The 17 aluminium wheels, also of racing origin, provide maximum lightness and manoeuvrability. The wide section tyres with special tread pattern support the rider even in the most thrilling leans and are also suitable for undemanding off-road terrain. ADJUSTABLE SUSPENSION Caponord 1200 has a manually adjustable shock absorber in terms of spring preload and extension hydraulics and a USD fork, fully adjustable in extension, compression and spring preload with 43 mm stems, embellished with shell-cast feet. BREMBO RADIAL CALIPERS Safety and total control with the Brembo braking system of racing origin: double 320 mm discs and new 4-piston monoblock calipers with radial mounting at the front, 240 mm disc and single-piston floating caliper at the rear.

ABS SYSTEM WITH APRILIA TRACTION CONTROL (ATC) Aprilia, in collaboration with Continental, has developed a two-channel ABS system which separately manages the front and rear brake, with a sophisticated electronic control unit which continuously controls the speed of the wheels and calibration specifically designed to ensure maximum safety in all situations, without detracting from riding enjoyment. Aprilia Traction Control (ATC) on the other hand is an exclusive traction control system, associated with the sophisticated ABS system, which always provides the best performance from the exuberant 1200 cc engine, also on the most insidious routes and in the most difficult situations, with utmost safety. When engaged, this device has in fact 3 levels of control: LEVEL 1 - for a pure riding experience, all fun and adrenaline, without worrying too much about managing the generous engine power. LEVEL 2 - suitable for the city, tourism and in general any route, always with maximum emotion. LEVEL 3 - ideal for the most difficult situations, such as slippery roads, with total control. The two systems, ABS and ATC, can be deactivated independently of each other.

TRAVEL PACK: READY FOR THE JOURNEY The Travel Pack includes the ADD system, Cruise Control, electrically adjustable shock absorber, central stand and the exclusive 29-litre panniers, specially designed in harmony with the aerodynamics, ergonomics and aesthetics of the Caponord 1200. These latter two components can also be installed on the standard version, along with a wide range of accessories.
