Proposal What type of photography are you going to produce?

I am going to produce a series of portraiture photography that links in with the theme of discovery. The shoot I am doing will take place in Nunnington Hall. As I am walking through the building, I will be discovering different rooms. This will lead to the discovery of different colours and feelings. I want to interpret these feelings & colours into a portrait photograph. What contexts could this type of photography be used in? This photo could be used in a stand alone portraiture photo album. !uch like !artin "choeller#s portraiture books he has released. This photography could also be used in a gallery that is specific about Nunnington Hall. As my work is $uite artistic, I could say that it could be featured in art books & art galleries. Although I highly doubt this would happen. Who are your influences for this project? I#ve had $uite a few influences for my pro%ect. I started with the influence of portraiture photographers. I looked at !artin "choeller#s work & I really liked the way his portraits looked. I then looked at "ir &ecil 'eaton#s portraiture work and found that I liked where his portraits were shot (not in a studio & very natural). I then found out where we were going for the shoot (Nunnington Hall) & the focus our work had to be on (discovery). I then started to do some research on Nunnington Hall & found that the rooms have different colour schemes & have different conte*tual backgrounds to them. I liked the idea of using colour & feelings in my work. Thinking about this, I then thought about how I could do this. I came to the conclusion of using make up (colour) & facial e*pressions (feelings) to show these emotions. I looked at a smudged face paint look with different colours. I then found an image that uses matching red lipstick & eye shadow. I used all of the influences stated above to come up with my pro%ect. What will you subjects be for this project? The first sub%ect I will look at is the room itself. This plays a ma%or part in the construction of my pro%ect. I will then decide on what colour scheme & feeling(s) can be found within this room. After I have done this, my main sub%ect will be my model. I will have to transform my models face into following the colour scheme of the room (by using make up) & then ask them to have a certain facial e*pression. The sub%ect in my photograph will be the models face after I have done this. +n the day, I will decide whether or not I want to follow the portraiture style of "choeller (focus only on the sub%ect) or 'eaton (background can also be seen & is a point of interest). What techniques will you use? ,ifferent techni$ues will be used depending on the feeling of the room. -or e*ample, if the room has a vibrant & bright colour scheme, I would use artificial lighting to e*tend this feeling. +n the opposite end, if the room is dark & colourless, I will use the natural lighting found in the room. I could edit the brightness in the room during post production. I could use an altered white balance to add to this effect. A long lens camera will most likely be used, as I do not what my models face to be stretched in any way. .ooking at aperture & shutter speed, this will depend entirely on the lighting I will be using & what my final decision will be for my portrait style (high aperture / increase depth of field 0 low aperture / decrease depth of field). I want a sharp image, so it more likely I will use a fast shutter speed. ,ifferent angles will be used to depict different feelings e.g. high angle connotes power.
