================================================================== 1. Introduction ================================================================== Thank you very much for using FM8! This document provides information to help you use FM8. It deals with last-minute additions, compatibility issues and possible problem causes. ================================================================== 2. Changes in Version 1.0.1 ================================================================== - As long as an FM8 installation is not activated with the Service Center, it runs in demo mode. - Only morphable sounds show an active (red) small morph square in the application header. - Entries in the MIDI CC list can now be selected for MIDI learn, not only the controls itself. ================================================================== 3. Known Limitations and Issues ================================================================== - Recalling automation data when loading a session in ProTools 7.x might not work correctly. Restarting ProTools solves the issue. - Touching a control on the GUI in some hosts (Live, Cubase SX 3) can take away the keyboard focus from the host application. Switching back to the host's GUI will bring back the key commands. The following issues are not documented in the FM8 manual: - After first start, the sound database needs to be built. This may take a couple of minutes. During this time, sounds will be added to your browser's database view continuously. - Please find the factory sounds (as .ksd files) at the respective locations: Mac: "Mac HD/Library/Application Support/ Native Instruments/Shared Content/Sounds/"

PC: "C:/Program Files/Common Files/ Native Instruments/Shared Content/Sounds/" - These are the respective default paths for your own sounds: Mac: ".../username/Documents/ Native Instruments/Shared Content/Sounds/FM8" PC: ".../Documents and Settings/username/My Documents/ Native Instruments/Shared Content/Sounds/FM8" - Sounds (except those in the factory sound folder) can be deleted in the Sound Browser through the backspace key. - Use the shift key as a modifier if you want to use midi learn in order to select a control's Y direction (e.g. for the morph handle or the EQ's handles): Click selects the X direction for learning, shift + click selects the Y direction. ================================================================== 4.
