The Blank holder can be extended into the punch when the trim line is very far. Punch profile is modified without hampering the shape of the panel which results into reduction of the Blank size.

Flow control through bead

Implement Phase

When the cross section is small, The blank can take the shape of punch, without flowing/passing through Blank holder & Upper die. This helps in reducing the blank size.
