This week in Nursery Class we have been learning about different feelings and emotions, focusing on how we feel

and react when we are angry and sad. We did some 'angry painting' and made some brilliant pictures (along with a lot of mess!!)

This week our theme in Reception Class was 'Space' and it went down an absolute storm! We were very curious to learn all about the Solar System and what's out there and used this funny mnemonic to learn the names for the planets 'My Very Excellent Mum Just Sent Us Nine Pizzas!' However, upon research we found that Pluto is no longer a proper planet as it's too small, but is now called a 'dwarf planet'. We've had so much fun role-playing in our spaceship...check out the cool control panel which we made together. We gave it tons of buttons and levers just like a real one!

This week, in Year 1, we have been focusing on capital letters and using ed in our spellings. We learnt some riddles and needed to come up with our own actions and acting to help us learn them off by heart. We looked at alliteration and have started writing our own riddles as a class.

In Year 2/3, we looked at forces in science the comic strip says it all!

This week, the focus was for children to be more independent and responsible when moving around the school and these children certainly worked on that! It can be distracting to have noise in the corridors when others are trying to concentrate, and the children have been more thoughtful of this lately. Thanks to you all! Next weeks focus is to work hard to complete tasks to the best of their ability. Lets see who does well The Musician of the Week goes to Chloe in Reception Class. Paul was very impressed with her vocabulary and explanation of the difference between 'beat' and 'rhythm'. Her singing voice is also progressing beautifully; she did a great job sticking to the main vocal of 'Help' by The Beatles, whilst also listening to the backing harmonies.

The Artist of the Week goes to Misha in Year 1. The design of his alien and the finished product is fantastic. He put lots of effort and care into this piece.
