Give original, hand-made gifts to your loved ones this holiday season. The City of Takoma Parks annual juried art sale features the work of Azalea Citys finest artists and crafts folk. Painting, photography, pottery, jewelry, textiles, glass and more.

Honoring Takoma Parks tradition of mosaic, Rachna Rikhye will hold a kids workshop to explore this ancient art. Her book, The Mosaic Community, documents the stories of children living in Takoma Park who came together to create the mosaic by the computer learning center. The event features artists who worked on the outside wall of the Takoma Park Library, including the murals designer Arturo Ho. Participants will learn how to make their own mosaic.

Mr. Gabes repertoire combines classic childrens folk songs and nursery rhymes with child-friendly pop songs and a smattering of originals. Throughout his performances, Gabe encourages the audience children and grown-ups to sing, shout, stomp, dance, and make animal and car noises. Suggested donation $8. DOVetAIL ENSemBLe Friday, November 15, 7:30 pm The Dovetail Ensemble brings together musicians and dancers from diverse traditions, including Grammy nominee Andrea Hoag (Swedish fiddle) and blues harmonica virtuoso Phil Wiggins. Each concert is fresh and surprising, inviting audiences into the collaborative process. DC LABOR CHORUS Saturday, December 7, 7:30 pm The DC Labor Chorus is a musical ensemble representing union members from the Washington, DC area. Some members are professional musicians but most are union members and activists who just love to sing! The DC Labor Chorus sings for rallies, demonstrations, and picket lines and will be performing their annual holiday concert in Takoma Park.

WASHINgtON ImpROV THeAteR PeRFORmANce Friday, October 25, 8 pm The regions premier improv organization will bring some of their shenanigans to Takoma Park. Ensembles from Washington Improv Theater (WIT) use audience suggestions to inspire comedic performances that they create on the spot. WASHINgtON ImpROV THeAteR WORKSHOp Saturday, October 26, 3 5 pm Discover a new sense of freedom and play. Get away from the grind of the scripted city at this free introductory improve workshop in Takoma Park lead by top instructors from Washington Improv Theater.

This film follows his story from confronting systemic racism in Maryland to fighting fascism with the International Brigades in Spain. A discussion with filmmaker Tova BeckFriedman will follow the screening. Presented in partnership with Docs in Progress. DOcS IN PROgReSS FILm FeStIVAL Thursday, November 14, 7:30 pm Featuring work-in-progress shorts (five 10 minute films) shot in and around Takoma Park. Discussion with the individual filmmakers will follow the screening. LeD ZeppLIN PLAYeD HeRe Thursday, December 12, 7:30 pm 1969. Man lands on the moon. Half a million strong at Woodstock. Sesame Street makes its debut and Led Zeppelin performs in the gym of the Wheaton Youth Center on Georgia Avenue in front of 50 confused teenagers. Or did they? Led Zepplin Played Here features interviews with rock writers, musicians, and fans, and several who claim they were there witnessing history that night. Discussion with filmmaker Jeff Krulik will follow the screening.

Coral Cantigas will present an interactive concert featuring choral music from Latin America and opportunity for audience participation. The concert will include traditional music from Venezuela, Argentina, and Puerto Rico, with special kid friendly selections.
