If the Windows logo appears, you must try again. If the computer has more than one operating system, use the arrow keys to highli ght the operating system that you want to start in safe mode, and then press F8. On the Advanced Boot Options screen, use the arrow keys to highlight the safe mo de option that you want, and then press ENTER. Windows XP Click Start, and then click Shut Down. Click Restart the computer, and then click Yes. Press the F8 key. On the Startup menu, select Safe Mode. When Windows has finished loading, close the message about safe mode
