Objectives $. %o produce engineering graduates who are most preferred by the industry, well prepared to pass the professional board e,aminations and trained to become potential leaders and professionals in the engineering fields. Computer Engineering %he -omputer Engineering 1-pE2 Program educates students to understand both sides of the hardware!software interface, from designing circuits to creating operating systems. 3ultidisciplinary in scope, the -oE curriculum integrates the fields of electrical engineering and computer science. %his program will uni"uely prepare -oE graduates to design and develop embedded, digital, and computer systems. Graduates with a degree in -oE will be highly s)illed and ideally suited for '$st century industries, including the games industry. UE -oE concentrates on the practical application of theoretical learning through a variety of semester and year!long projects. 4tudents will have increasing levels of creative control in their projects and receive feedbac) from e,pert instructors. SPECIFIC O !EC"IVES $. %o produce computer engineering graduates who can demonstrate competence in the following# nalog and digital circuitry Digital system design& be able to design, implement, debug, document, and verify the correct operation of software that interfaces to hardware. 5asic computer science fundamentals such as data structure, computer architecture, operating systems, and networ)ing -omputer programming and be able to apply the )nowledge to solve engineering problems. '. %o obtain the best state if the art computer engineering facilities and computer laboratory e"uipment. (. %o develop faculty members with the highest level of )nowledge in digital and computer system design, software development and to e,pand the capabilities of the faculty members in managing a research *. %o strengthen lin)ages with software development companies and semiconductor companies for industry immersion. +. %o continuously provide technical s)ills to the local community.
