The goal of this report presentation will involve a foreign market

that Coca Cola Company overall entry strategy into a foreign
market that includes attention to the company’s social, political,
cultural and economic environment in the North Korean region –
the proposed country which the company is not currently
operating in along with its mode of entry, organizational structural
arrangement and organizational structural arrangement and
organizational strategies the company should advance, including
potential alliances with local firms and discussion of the ethical,
negotiation, leadership and management challenges associated
with useful recommendations. The analysis should demonstrate
application of relevant theory and integrate the readings and
cases in the context of the actions of a specific firm.

Moreover, the Coca-Cola Company exists to benefit and refresh

everyone it touches, emerged in the year 1886, Coca Cola
Company is the world's leading manufacturer, marketer and
distributor of nonalcoholic beverage concentrates and syrups that
is used to produce beverage brands as the company’s

involving its respected local operations around the world.

corporate social responsibility in various other countries which will
in turn highlight the corporate culture prevailing in the company.
The Coca-Cola company (Coke), the oldest of the soft drink
producer & US based multinational, has engaged itself in
various philanthropic & social initiatives in the
communities where it operates, across the globe.
Especially under it “Think local, Act local Policy”, the
company moved from philanthropy to taking social
responsibility, which involved greater participation of the
company in the improvement of the communities, health,
education & environment

Q2) How & why do you find this topic pertaining to CCC?

“Making Entry in a new market isn’t a easy task”

I have found this topic closely related to our Subject Study

as making entry in any of the new markets across the
world requires certain specific skill sets to be proved by a
company. The company needs to understand the deep
sense of local culture & communities prevailing in the new
arena where we need to enter.

As “ Managing social & cultural issues is a critical

reputation asset, vital for the survival of today’s
corporation”. Coke has taken up various philanthropic &
social initiatives in the communities where it operates,
across the globe, especially under its “ Think local, Act
local” policy, as it entered the 21st century. This policy
enabled the company’s local operations to respond to
issues that arise with the appropriate sensitivity & speed.

Through these initiatives, the company expects to rebuild

its image which is tarnished in the wake of several
lawsuits, contamination scares, harsh restructuring
measures & strained relations with its local bottlers etc.

“ Smith believed that businesses should play an important

social & civilizing role. Trust is the oxygen of business.
Trust has to result from good business. Too many
corporate leaders stopped trying to excite moral virtue in
fellow men. The result , of course, has been a loss of
confidence in businesses. Businesses have to remember
both sides of Adam Smith; they have an obligation to
society as a whole”

-- Douglas Daft, CEO,

The COCA-COLA company

Coke’s CEO, Doughlas Daft, stated, “Success alone is n’t

what makes us a trusted neighbor & a welcomed friend in
communities where we sell our products. We earn that
place only by involved, concerned & our commitment.
Through Business, Through other activities, We just want
to get closer to the people around the world.

Q4) Where do you stand as an individual?

“Stand rather than Sit & Walk rather than Stand”

I don’t believe in taking elevators all the times when I

have stairs

I can position myself under broad divisions:

(a) Community & cultural involvement- As I am from a

nation which possesses a lot of diversities.

We are a combination of several subcultures & giving

rise to a common culture known as “Indian culture”
We celebrate EId, We celebrate Christmas, we
celebrate diwali & holi.I would like to elaborate ie we
are being born & brought up into an atmosphere of
various cultures & we don’t feel much of the
hesitations in mingling up with some body else’s
beliefs.
I would have an advantage working there as
Involvement in the social or cultural issues , may be I
wll understand better than any other employee.
I personally Stand as an admirer of Coke’s culture because
Coke has rendered a lot in Education, Health, in Creating
Eco Friendly environment. Coke introduced innovative &
environmental-friendly packaging of recyclable PET
( polyethylene terephthalate) bottles & thus contributed
in managing the wastes.

Qualification- As I m an management student , I ‘m well

aware of the facts related to marketing, Finance etc & can

identify possible needed steps for the creation of effective organizational structure

responsive to the needs of the North Korean customers as the structure better reflects the way

beverage choices are made, unifies their procurement and supply chain systems to increase

efficiency and eliminate redundancies and links the company’s go-to-market activities with those

of their bottling partners so that Coke’s system can deliver value-added services to the North

Korean customers faster and effectively

company. Everyone who works for Coca-Cola is empowered and expected to
maintain the highest standards of quality in products, processes and relationships.
For this I will study the company’s culture well and
will try to develop all the skill sets required in order
to make up to a job in Coke.
