To Whom It May Concern: With the highest regard, I recommend John Stanley for the Cobb Scholarship.

I have had the privilege of working alongside John this spring for International Students Incorporateds annual spring Tejas Retreat. Johns passion for discipleship and mentoring is evident from the center of his personal life to the pursuit of Christian international students and young professionals. John has a clear calling from God to mentor, disciple, and connect Christian international students with mentors and disciplers within the local church. Johns heart beats to see international students connect with a man or woman that will walk alongside him or her and encourage them in their faith, push them into a deeper and more intimate relationship with Christ, and equip international believers to plug into leadership positions within the church and, then, to mentor others. Currently, John is actively involved with ISI (International Students Incorporated), and was given the privilege of coordinating the large group meetings for this years spring retreat. John went above and beyond, serving late into the night in preparation for the next days session, and humbly committed himself to connecting with students and building deep, life-long friendships with those he met. John is a leader through and through, modeling godly leadership to those he interacts with, and chooses to follow Gods calling no matter what the cost. Very rarely have I met a man who so openly seeks Gods will and has a clear vision for why he is in seminary. Johns purpose in attending Dallas Theological Seminary is to be further equipped to first, love and know God more, and secondly, to mentor and disciple men and women in Christ. John is passionate about mentoring, and currently is mentored by his pastor, who clearly sees Johns heart to love and serve God more effectively. I recommend John Stanley for this scholarship because I see that his life is a life worth investing in, a life that God will use mightily. I also recommend John from the standpoint of one who has served alongside John in ministry and has seen his heart for discipleship so clearly. John would love to see godly men and women within the local church reaching out to Christian internationals, with the hopes that through those intense and intimate discipleship relationships, that godly servant leaders would be birthed, and that men and women would accept the challenge of serving with a deep sense of commitment within the local church either here in the USA or in their country of origin. John is faithful, kind, servant-hearted, genuine, courageous, humble, and one of the best leaders I have ever met! I highly recommend John Stanley for the Cobb Scholarship! Sincerely, Lindsey A. Peters
