Paul D. Scuse B.Sc. M.Div. M.Th. D.Min. RMFT.
Paul is the founder of Emmaus Pastoral Counselling Services. He provides consulting and counselling for individuals, couples and families. Paul has completed the Doctor of Ministry degree in Pastoral Counselling from Wilfrid Laurier University and has graduated from the Internship program in Marriage and Family Therapy from the Interfaith Pastoral Counselling Centre in Kitchener. He also received Mediation Skills Training from the Lombard Mennonite Peace Centre. Paul is an Assistant Professor at Tyndale Seminary and is the co-ordinator of the Masters of Divinity, Counselling Major. Paul was ordained by the Anglican Church into parish ministry in 1979. He served parishes in Oshawa, Toronto, Stouffville, Richmond Hill and Pickering. He is now an honorary associate priest at St. Pauls on the Hill, Pickering.

Elizabeth C. Scuse M.Div.


Elizabeth has completed her M.Div. degree specializing in individual, couple and family counselling. She is the wife and life partner of the Rev. Dr. Paul Scuse. They have been married for over 35 years and are proud parents and grandparents. Elizabeth works as a psychotherapist at Emmaus Pastoral Counselling Services, and is a pre-clinical fellow of the Ontario Association for Marriage and Family Therapy (O.A.M.F.T.). Elizabeth became a registered member of Focusing Oriented Therapy in 2005. Elizabeth has received training in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Sandtray Therapy and teaching students with Autism Spectrum Disorder. Elizabeth has also worked for over fifteen years with children in their classrooms and received experience and some training in helping those who are learning to cope with special needs. Paul and Elizabeth also enjoy and value working together in co-therapy. They each bring unique gifts, training, experiences and perspectives into the counselling room.
