Gunjan:

Since Time was short, decided to do a quick run of all the features. Started with
opening from different media. The layers caused some confusion, on text layer
could not add any other edit. Filters could not be applied at all layers, etc. It was not
apparent as to what would work and what would not. Would have preferred if tools
which don’t work on a particular layer were disabled. The only thing that got
disabled was the filter menu.

Initial Setup of Splashup Screen:

Parimala:

1. Contextual Help is missing. Getting very difficult to understand the

functionality

2. Save option is badly designed in that the save option is not prompted while
closing any unsaved image. Save option displays several other options about
formats and compression methods while saving. This is very different from
the conventional 1 step save operation.

3. The UI for this application looks very rich, however, the positioning of the
fields, the color combination, enable/disable feature are not viewable as
easily as other web applications in general.

Bugs : (With reason as to why do you think it’s a bug? Ex: Inconsistent within an
application, Inconsistent when compared to most of the products etc.)

 1. Created an account of email address (132characters)@gmail.com. I was able
to sign-in on creating the account, but the next time if I try signing in with the
same account, getting an error “We were unable to sign you in. Please try
again”.

2. The scrollbars and the layout goes for a toss if I zoom the canvas to 800%
and use the marquee tool. At 50% zoom size, the scrollbars are incorrect.

3. The Text is typed in a default position, but the place where it is to be placed is
dependent of the mouse click before typing.

4. Auto-crop can be used only once, if I try auto-cropping the next time, it does
not autocrop.

5. The PC hangs, if I keep cropping for around 4-5 times.

6. Error messages should stick to the place where they are appearing. The user
can move them anywhere and out of window too. It means once the error
message or pop-up or error message moved by user out of window they
won’t be able to access it. The only option for them is to start from the
scratch.

 7. It takes a while to come up the “About” information. Have to wait for 2-3
seconds then the information comes.

8. Can not use the zoom level above 400%...if I select 800% …it just stuck for
some time and then it back to with 400%.

9. Not compatible with keyboard – user needs to access the application using
mouse. A user without mouse cannot use this application.

 10.The transition between the items is not smooth – if you continue with the
process. Like start with any tool from the tools and randomly ..just continue
with other tools…it will stop respond after some time.

11.This ‘Wait’ dialog is not needed.

12.Pressing ‘OK’ on Wait dialog should again point to the ‘Browse for image’
dialog instead it is disposing that dialog.

 13.Names of error messages or warning dialogs are not proper. Here in this case
‘Wait’.

14.Better to have ‘Sign Up’ link for the new user on ‘Sign In’ dialog to enable the
user to register.

 15.It seems the Help content is available for the registered users. It would be
better to make it available for the Guest users too.

16.The attributes of the controls are not clear/visible and their functioning (for
example, Font control etc).

 17.The Layer panel does not show any functions like add/remove etc in the Layer
panel which is tedious job for the user to perform from the main menu
(Layer).

18.Menu cannot be accessed unless Rotate option is cancelled. Even though the
image is closed, the Rotate option is enabled.

Steps:

a. File New Image.

b. Add a new line.

c. Click on Rotate button from the toolbar.

d. Close the image and click on Yes on “Confirm Close”.

e. Observe that the menu cannot be accessed unless “Cancel Rotate” is

clicked.

 23.File > Save Image.

a. Authenticate Facebook.

b. Save Image.

c. Open Facebook and check if image is displayed.

d. Logout from Facebook.

e. File > Save Image : in Facebook. Clicking on any folder has no effect.

f. Creating a new folder gives inappropriate message.

 24.The Menu toolbar can be made invisible.

a. File > New Image.

b. Width: 1, Height: 1500

c. Click on OK and click twice to the left of File menu.

d. Observe that the menu bar disappears. The only way to bring back the
menu bar is to close and re-launch the application.

 25.Copy right information is not updated.

Steps to rep:

a. Go to Help -> About Splash up.

b. Check the Copyright section. It appears as “2006-2007”.

c. Current year (2009)should appear .

26.Submit a bug section is accepting only special characters as

 Error : Field validation is required

27.No warning message is displayed when we click on Cancel button

Steps to rep :

a. Go to Help -> Submit a bug.

b. Put some information in the Subject and Description section. Click on

Cancel

Expected : A warning message should be generated “ Are you sure you want
to Cancel”

28.Image is not visible when it is zoomed to 800%

Steps to rep :

a. Select an image and zoom it to 800%, the original image is not visible.
We have to adjust the scrollbar in order to view it.

29.Remove layer is not working

Steps to rep :

a. Open an Image.

b. Go to layer -> Add Layer.

c. Add Glow to the image.

d. Now click on Remove layer

Error : The image disappears , actually the layer should disappear.

30.Auto Crop option is not working.

Steps to repro :

a. Open an image.

b. Click on Image -> Auto Crop.

Error : The Auto Crop symbol is not appearing , and hence the user is unable
to crop the application.

31.Shortcut keys are missing for menu items and sub menu items.

 a. Oracle: Inconsisency with comparable products

b. Risk: If a user is used to using Shortcuts, this application kind of

cripples the user by denying the shortcut feature.

32.Ctrl+Z does not work for any operation on this application

a. Oracle: Inconsisency with comparable products

b. Risk: a user who uses the keyboard heavily(most laptop users) will try
to use key combinations. Lack of this feature support might drive away
this group of users.

33.Save option is not prompted when closing an unsaved image(Save.JPG)

a. Oracle: Inconsistency with User Expectations

b. Risk: User ends up losing unsaved data while he/she get fooled that
the Close Image dialog saves the image

34.Menu items in File Menu are tampered after making changes to the
image(UI.JPG) – Not consistently reproducible

 35.Checkboxes and Disabled fields are not clearly visible for Tools > Box option

 36.Usability: No option to verify username availability on signing up.

37.Opening an invalid file format doesn’t give any error message. Rename any
non image file as .jpeg and open it. It don’t show any error message

38.No message after submitting the bug and Request Feature from helpSubmit
a Bug and helpRequest Feature. Should give message stating that whether
bug or Request Feature is submitted or not.

39.It supports to save as .fxo and .bmp but not supporting to open that file
format.

 40.Comes out of full screen mode on opening image from the desktop. Go to Full
screen and open an image from desktop. This comes out of full screen mode.
This happens on saving the image as well. It comes out of full screen on
opening of window select file option.

41.Without any image opened, if you close the application it gives warning
message

 42.Could not change the text color, when I tried selecting different colors, the
text would still be white. Expected it to allow me to add text at various places
on the layer. But I could draw text box only at one place, the first one I
selected and could not move it.
