Porte Maillot Beauvais location of shuttle bus and ticket - Dec 23, 2011, 6:52 AM Can anyone give me an update on where the Porte Maillot to Beauvais official airport shuttle bus is parked? I see it is 15 Euros and have read of 2 locations where it could be parked but don't know which one is correct. Also, is there an office at Porte Maillot or nearby to purchase the shuttle ticket? Metro line 1 leads directly to the Porte Maillot roundabout so that is very helpful. Directions from there are fuzzy. Is it at Pershing Car Park or at Hotel Lafayette or at Lafayette restaurant? Thanks. 1. Re: Porte Maillot Beauvais location of shuttle bus and ticket - Dec 23, 2011, 7:20 AM It's at the Pershing car park and you buy the ticket directly on the bus. It is clearly explained on the official website: www.paris-beauvais.fr/acces.php?lang=eng 2. Re: Porte Maillot Beauvais location of shuttle bus and ticket - Dec 23, 2011, 7:22 AM According to Beauvais Airport website, it's Pershing car park, which is just opposite Palais des Congrs/Hotel Lafayette : www.aeroportbeauvais.com/bus.php?lang=eng Map of access to the car park at Porte Maillot: aeroportbeauvais.com/img/plan_paris_bus.jpg 3. Re: Porte Maillot Beauvais location of shuttle bus and ticket - Dec 23, 2011, 9:55 AM There is a ticket office at the car park where you can buy your ticket. 4. Re: Porte Maillot Beauvais location of shuttle bus and ticket - Dec 23, 2011, 1:32 PM There are a few bus companies getting in on the act at the Pershing car park but the official ones have it written all over them and were blue the last time I took one. I notice that the website mentioned above says that the ticket MUST be purchased on the bus for the Paris/Beavais trip. Perhaps this is to try to stop the unofficial buses from getting the business? The main thing is to be at Porte Maillot 3h 15m before your departure time. 5. Re: Porte Maillot Beauvais location of shuttle bus and ticket - Dec 24, 2011, 3:28 AM Thanks for the info. My daughter had to catch the Porte Maillot bus yesterday, Friday, to Beauvais Airport. Can anyone comment on the bus cycle? Do they come and go all day long for

different flights at different times? Ryan Air's website above had only 2 bus times posted to take passengers from Paris to catch a Barcelona flight. The bus times were at 7 something AM and then at 16:40. I figured she had until 16:40 to go to Sacre Coeur on Metro 2, etc. but instead she hung out in a park in the round about and visited a mall. At about 2 PM at Porte Maillot she bought a 15 Euro bus ticket in an office and verified with a bus driver that it went to Beauvais airport. He told her that his bus was the LAST bus for the day. So if she had gone any later than 2 PM to Porte Maillot, then she would not have been able to get there through their bus system. Either that or maybe that was the last bus leaving at 2 PM for another flight at an earlier time of the evening. I tried to tell her that she still had 2 more hours to hang out in Paris before having to catch the 16:40 bus for her flight departure at 19:40 to Barcelona but she took the bus driver's word as correct and not their website. Any comments? Is their website incorrect or did the bus driver mean his bus was the last one going for an earlier flight? If the bus driver was correct, I'm glad she didn't take my advice to see Sacre Coeur and then miss the bus and miss the plane!! 6. Re: Porte Maillot Beauvais location of shuttle bus and ticket - Dec 24, 2011, 4:41 AM It must have been a language misunderstanding since the buses are scheduled according to the flights schedules. I wasn't there and don't know how she put her question or what exactly the answer was, but it's clear that there's one bus at 16:40 for Ryan Air flight FR6356 at 19:40. And there are other buses later for flights to other cities (till 19:50). If you go to this page: http://www.aeroportbeauvais.com/horaire_bus.php?lang=eng&soumettre=oui&SENS=1&DEST _PROV=Tous&DATEMVT=2011-12-30+00%3A00%3A00 (all departures on a Friday), you can see all bus departures and how they are co-ordinated with the flights, i.e. 3 hours before the flight schedule. It could be also, for example, that the bus driver understood "Bratislava" or "Bologna" instead of "Barcelona" as there are buses leaving around 14:00 for the flights to these cities. Who knows what she asked exactly? 7. Re: Porte Maillot Beauvais location of shuttle bus and ticket - Dec 24, 2011, 9:54 AM The official buses are scheduled to leave Porte Maillot 3 hours before specific flights, so for example, if there's a flight to Dublin leaving Beauvais at 16.15 then the passengers for that flight will be gathering in the carpark at Pershing from approx 13.00 and the buses will leave at 13.15 on the dot. That bus won't take passengers for other flights. There are new buses gathering in the carpark these days, mostly white, which seem to run on a different basis and it may have been one of these drivers who told your daughter that it was the last bus. 8. Re: Porte Maillot Beauvais location of shuttle bus and ticket - Dec 24, 2011, 6:48 PM Thank you again. It's good to keep this info updated. My search result for Porte Maillot led me to some ancient posts which I didn't trust to be current. My daughter doesn't know French and the bus driver's English wasn't very good. He probably meant to say it was the last bus going at that time of day to Beauvais airport. 9. Re: Porte Maillot Beauvais location of shuttle bus and ticket - Mar 12, 2012, 2:02 AM

I am concerned that our flight on April 14, Ryanair, to Venice, is NOT on the official website. I just read on post #7: " That bus won't take passengers for other flights." I had just assumed that we could take a bus 3 hours ahead, as they say, and we would be OK. Is it possibly a new flight and not on the schedule yet? Any information is appreciated. 10. Re: Porte Maillot Beauvais location of shuttle bus and ticket - Mar 12, 2012, 3:37 AM For me, things had changed a while ago and thta the buses would now take anyone, even those not flying!

What would be the best (& fastest) way to travel from Porte Maillot to the Eiffel tower...

Visiting Paris for the first time so not very familiar with the metro.. Read about the bus (route 82)..can anyone help with the frequency of stops it has at Porte Maillot and how much time it takes to reach Eiffel Tower? RER, metro and Bus 82 will all take about 14 minutes to make the trip. The bus runs every 8 - 10 minutes. You can put your starting and ending points in the RATP trip planner here: http://www.ratp.fr/fr/ RER is a heavy rail, steel wheels system connecting the suburbs with Paris that operates within Paris like the mtro (same ticket prices). The mtro is light rail, rubber wheels, and is the traditional in-town rapid transit. I much prefer the mtro over the RER for predictability, cleanliness and general atmosphere. The stops are somewhat different. For the Eiffel tower, the metro stop is Bir Hakeim; the RER stop is Champ de Mars. When you look at a metro map, the RER lines are the thicker lines (red, yellow, blue, green) and the metro lines are the thinner lines. On the RER lines, the stops are farther apart than the stops on the metro lines, and the RER lines go out into the suburbs
