3. INSTALLING AND COMMISSIONING

MOUNTING THE PANEL
Select a dry location close to an un-switched AC source, allowing a ground connection. If the system is to be monitored by a central station and if it is intended to transmit voice messages, the location must be close to a phone line. Remove the printed circuit board and mount the cabinet securely to the wall by 4 screws. Mount the PCB back into the cabinet. Introduce all the system cables into the cabinet, through one of the holes especially made for this purpose (on the upper and lower parts of the box). Prepare the cables for connections.

MOUNTING THE KEYPAD

The keypad must be located close to the designed entry/exit door and mounted at a convenient height for all users. Disassemble the keypad and mount the back plate on the wall. Insert the keypad wiring inside the keypad and prepare it for connection.

4. OPERATION

KP-064

KP-064E

The keypad is the device that helps with system programming, entering commands and data, as well as displaying the system status. System operation is done using the keypad and the LED indications on the frontal side of the keypad. The keypad has 6 zone LEDs and 4 state LEDs: READY, SYSTEM, BYPASS, and ARMED. The LED indications will be detailed throughout this manual.

SYSTEM CODES
The system recognizes one special code the installers code, and 15 user codes, the first one being the -th master code (1234 by default), and the last one (the 15 code), if programmed, having the ambush code capability.

USER CODES
The master code ( 1 user code) - programmed "1234" by default. Using the master code, one can operate the system and modify/delete the other user codes. The allowed operations for the master code are: Arming, Disarming, Bypassing/Un-bypassing Zones, Program/Delete user codes, Program/Delete phone numbers for voice messages, Set system date and time, Stop voice communication and the upload/download process, PC download online acceptance. The User Codes 2-14 : not programmed by default. Allowed operations: Arming, Disarming, Bypassing/Un-bypassing Zones. The 15 User code has the ambush capability and is not programmed by default. If this code (15) is used for arming/disarming the control panel, then the system will record an ambush type event. In case the control panel is connected to a central station by means of a phone line or a G.S.M. module, then it will transmit this special code to the central station as well. Thus, the dispatcher will be signaled that arming/disarming was done under threat. In order to modify the user codes, the master code included, use one of the commands: [*][7][Master Code] or [CODE][Master Code].
Note: The control panel is protection provided against valid code guessing" attempts. If programming enabled this option, entering 10 wrong user codes successively will lock the keypad for 7 minutes, and all the LEDs will blink. The event will be memorized in the log of 480 events, which can be uploaded and viewed on PC by EZcom C61 ; optionally, a reporting code will be sent to the central station too.
-th -st

INSTALLERS CODE ("0269" BY DEFAULT)

The system installer owns this code only. This code has total access to the system-programming menu, but no access to the user's functions. The installers code is 0269 by default. Panel parameters can be programmed using this code, through [*][8][Installers Code] command only when the control panel is disarmed (with the permission of the system user). For system parameter programming to be accomplished only by authorized people, this code must be changed after the system was installed!

ARMING
[User Code] [x][x][x][x] or [x][x][x][x][x][x] To arm the system, enter a 4 or 6 digit user code. For each key pressing, the keypad buzzer will sound a short beep. After entering a valid user code, all keypad LEDs will be ON for a little while and the keypad buzzer will sound 6 beeps. If the user code is not correct, the keypad buzzer will sound a long error beep. Press the [ # ] key and then enter the user code again. If programming enables the option of buzzer signal during the exit time, then during exit time the keypad buzzer will sound warning beeps. After entering any valid user codes, there will start the exit time out of the objective. The red ARMED LED and the green READY LED will be ON. If there are any user-bypassed zones in the system, then the orange BYPASS LED will be lit. It will go out only when disarming. The yellow SYSTEM LED will be also lit during the exit time if there is something wrong with the backup battery, the AC power supply (220Vac), or if the siren is disconnected and the system date and time have not been programmed. The default exit time is 60 seconds (see the section [12] of the programming menu). After the exit time expired, all status LEDs will go out but the ARMED and BYPASS LEDs, which will stay ON until disarming, signaling the armed status of the system or the existence of user-bypassed zones in the system.
Remark: upon at arming, you should check the following: 1. If READY LED is not lit, then one or more zones are open (the LEDs corresponding to the open zones are lit). As the system cant be armed only if the "READY" LED is ON, then, before arming the system, all protected zones should be closed (doors, windows, people in rooms protected by PIR detectors go out, etc). 2. If the SYSTEM LED is ON, check up the following: ! ! the alarm memory (with [*][5] command). If there are alarms in the memory, they will be cleared once the system was armed. system state (with [*][4] command): If there are troubles regarding the backup battery, the AC power, the siren is disconnected (or bell overloaded) or in case the system date and time are not set, fix all these troubles before arming;

3.

If the system failed when trying to communicate with the central station last, this trouble memory will be cleared when exiting the display mode. If BYPASS LED is lit, then you should check if the zones that the system will bypass during the next arming period are the same ones bypassed by the user (see commands [*][3][User Code] or [BYPASS][User Code]).

OTHER ARMING MODES

INSTANT STAY ARMING [*][1][User Code] or [INSTANT][STAY][User Code],
where [INSTANT] and [STAY] are the keys INSTANT and STAY

This arming mode is used for perimeter protection. Thus the user can stay inside the protected area and no one should come in from outside (i.e. arming the panel for the night while staying at home and expecting no guests). After this arming mode (after entering a valid user code within this sequence), all LEDs will be lit for a little while, and the keypad buzzer will sound 6 confirmation beeps. Then, the system automatically bypasses the zones that have the STAY attribute enabled by programming. These zones should be the ones inside the objective, also being called interior zones. The zones that have not the STAY attribute enabled by programming (by the installer), are called perimeter zones. If programming enables the option of buzzer signal during the exit time, then during exit time the keypad buzzer will sound warning beeps. After such an arming and the completion of the exit time, the zones usually of the perimeter entry/exit (delayed) type will trigger the alarm as soon as they are violated (they will turn into instant zones).
15.07.2002 12

During the exit time the red ARMED LED will blink, and the green READY LED will be lit. The orange BYPASS LED will be lit and go out only when disarming if there are zones that have the STAY attribute enabled by programming (or there are user-bypassed zones in the system). The yellow SYSTEM LED will be also lit during the exit time if there is something wrong with the backup battery, the AC power supply (220Vac), or if the siren is disconnected and the system date and time have not been programmed. At the end of the exit time, READY and SYSTEM LEDs will go out, and the red ARMED LED will keep blinking till disarming, signaling the system is being perimeter and instantly armed (the zone which are usually of the perimeter delayed type will now act as instant zones).
Note: As during such an arming the access into the building is not allowed through the entry/exit zones, the users inside the building can only do system disarming.

STAY ARMING [*][2][User Code] or [STAY][User Code],

where [STAY] is STAY key.

This arming mode is also used for perimeter protection. This time the user stays inside the protected area while access is allowed through the entry/exit zones. After this arming mode (after entering a valid user code within this sequence), all LEDs will be lit for a little while, and the keypad buzzer will sound 6 confirmation beeps. After entering the user code within the previous sequence, the system automatically bypasses the zones which have the STAY attribute enabled by programming (the zones inside the house). At the same time, the zones of the perimeter entry/exit type (delayed) will maintain this feature (if violated during arming, they will trigger the alarm unless a valid user code is entered within the time lapse set for the entry time). If programming enables the option of buzzer signal during the exit time, then during exit time the keypad buzzer will sound warning beeps. During the exit time the red ARMED LED and the green READY LED will be lit. The orange BYPASS LED will be lit and go out only when disarming if there are zones that have the STAY attribute enabled by programming (or if there are user-bypassed zones in the system). The yellow SYSTEM LED will be also lit during the exit time if there is something wrong with the backup battery, the AC power supply (220Vac), or if the siren is disconnected and the system date and time have not been programmed. When the exit time is over, the system is stay armed, the entry/exit zones have still corresponding timings and the READY and SYSTEM LEDs will go out, and the ARMED and BYPASS LEDs will stay ON, signaling that the system is stay armed and there are bypassed zones in the system (bypassed automatically by the system as they are interior zones, having the STAY attribute enabled, or bypassed by the users). Any user can get inside the building through entry/exit zones, and during the entry time he/she can enter his/her own user code (1-15) in order to disarm the system.

QUICK ARMING MODES (ARMING WITHOUT USER CODES)

Quick arming functions allow the system to be quickly armed by a user who may not own a user code. You can also use this arming mode when arming the system in the presence of someone who is not to find out the user code.
C Note: Quick arming is allowed only by enabling the proper options (see programming menu, section [09] set OPTIONS , zone 1,2,3 LEDs).

COMPLETE QUICK ARMING [*][0][ 0 ] or [INSTANT][CODE], where [INSTANT] and [CODE] are the keys [INSTANT] and [CODE]. Complete Quick Arming (away arming without code) is performed by entering one of the sequences [*][0][0] or [INSTANT][CODE]. After that, the user must leave the objective before the exit time expired. After the exit time expired, the system is entirely armed ad the ARMED LED will stay ON. This arming type is similar to away arming with user code.
15.07.2002 13

C Note: Complete Quick Arming is allowed only by enabling the proper option (see programming menu, section [09] set OPTIONS , zone 1 LED).

QUICK INSTANT STAY ARMING [*][ 0 ][1] This arming type is similar to INSTANT STAY arming.
Note: QUICK INSTANT STAY ARMING is allowed only by enabling the proper option (see programming menu, section [09] set OPTIONSC, zone 2 LED).

QUICK STAY ARMING [*][0][2] This arming type is similar to STAY arming.
C Note: QUICK STAY ARMING is allowed only by enabling the proper option (see programming menu, section [09] set OPTIONS , zone 3 LED).

DISARMING/STOPPING THE ALARM

[User Code] [x][x][x][x] or [x][x][x][x][x][x] To disarm the system, you should enter the protected area through an entry/exit (delayed) zone. When an entry/exit zone is violated, the entry time counter will start. The keypad buzzer will sound a continuous beep during the entry time, indicating that the system must be disarmed. In order to disarm the system, enter any of the 4 (or 6) digit user codes from 1 to 15. After entering the first code digit, the continuous beep will stop, and at each key press the keypad buzzer will sound a short beep. After entering the last digit of a valid user code, the ARMED LED will go out, and the keypad buzzer will sound 3 beeps for disarming confirmation. If the user code was incorrectly entered, press [#] key and restart code entering. If the system is not disarmed during the entry time, the panel will go into alarm (to modify the entry time, see section [12]). If at least one alarm occurred during the respective arming period, then, after disarming, the SYSTEM LED will stay lit until the next arming. To visualize the first 9 alarms occurred during the respective arming see [*][5] command. If no alarms occurred during the respective arming, and the SYSTEM LED is still lit after disarming, see system status, [*][4] command. In order to stop any alarm status, enter any of the 4 (or 6) digit user codes from 1 to 15.

ZONE BYPASSING
[*][3][User Code] or [BYPASS][user code],
where [BYPASS] is the key BYPASS.

Zone bypassing is necessary in case of a faulty detector or troubleshooting is not being allowed because of faulty wiring, where the system needs being armed altogether and access is desired in a zone even with the system armed. Zone bypassing can only be done when the system is disarmed and if the corresponding attribute of zones is adequately programmed (the attribute allows bypassing - see the bypass attribute in sections 01-06). The panel will not consider the detectors on a bypassed zone. Arming can be done with one or more bypassed zones, even if the sensors on these zones are enabled. In order to enter zone bypassing menu, you should enter one of the commands: [*][3][User Code] or [BYPASS][user code]. Soon after initializing this procedure by entering [*] or [BYPASS] key, all the keypad LEDs will go out, except the BYPASS one, if lit. After entering the user code, the keypad buzzer will sound 6 confirmation beeps and the SYSTEM LED will blink.
15.07.2002 14

If some zones were previously bypassed, the BYPASS LED and the zone corresponding LEDs will stay ON (while the corresponding zones remain bypassed). If no zones were previously bypassed, the BYPASS LED will be OFF. To bypass a zone press the zone corresponding digit, and the corresponding LED will turn ON. Once there was at least one bypassed zone, the BYPASS LED will turn ON and will stay like this till bypass cancellation of all 6 zones or till system disarming. To un-bypass a zone, press the corresponding digit and the corresponding LED will turn OFF. To exit zone bypassing menu press [ # ] key.
Note: Bypassed zone status is only valid during a single arming period; upon system disarming, bypassed zone status will clear.

SYSTEM STATE DISPLAY (SYSTEM TROUBLES)

[*][4] The security system permanently monitors a series of imposed conditions for its proper function, such as: 1. Troubles with the backup battery (if the battery is disconnected or is uncharged) 2. AC power loss 3. Unsuccessful Communication to the central station. 4. Date and time not programmed. 5. Disconnected siren or siren overload (siren overload can be detected only with enabled siren). 6. Previous alarm occurred. If conditions 1, 2, 4, 5 occur, they need solving before arming. In case the third condition of displaying system troubles is met, it will clear when exiting the system status display menu. In case at least one of the above conditions occurs, the SYSTEM LED will turn ON.
Remark: Overload on +AUX, though recorded as LOG event, cannot be displayed on the keypad as the keypad is powered from this very power supply, the occurrence of an Overload on +AUX stopping keypad powering till overload gets removed.

To visualize the system trouble status, in the disarmed state of the system, enter [*][4] keys. Soon after initializing this procedure by entering [*] key, all the keypad LEDs will go out but the BYPASS one, if lit. After entering the key [4], the SYSTEM LED will blink. If there are some trouble conditions in the system, then the zone 1-5 LEDs will display these troubles as follows: Zone 1 LED - Battery Low Voltage: if the battery is disconnected or its voltage is low, this LED is ON. This display condition will be removed 30 seconds after the battery minimum loading voltage was restored. Zone 2 LED - AC power loss: if AC power is missing, the transformer is burnt or the fuse near the transformer is burnt, this LED is ON. The LED will turn OFF instantly after this problem was solved. Zone 3 LED - Unsuccessful Communication Attempt: if the alarm control panel failed to transmit events to the central station after 8 attempts, this LED will be ON. The LED will turn OFF after exiting this display mode. Zone 4 LED - Date and time not programmed: this LED will be ON upon powering the panel and will be OFF immediately after programming the system date and time. The system date and time are necessary for an event correct recording in the control panel memory. Zone 5 LED - Bell Trouble (siren disconnection or overload): If wiring between the siren and the panel is cut-off or if, during siren activating period, there is an overload on the siren control wire, this LED will be ON. The LED will be OFF when the siren is reconnected or the overload is removed. To exit this mode press [ # ] key.
Remark: If the SYSTEM LED is lit just because of at least one previous alarm, then, by means of [*][5] command, you can see the display of the first 9 alarms occurred.

If a new [*][9] command is performed while the mono-stable PGM output is active, then that output will deactivate. All the same, upon entering this command, any PGM1 or PGM2 output programmed as bi-stable, will change its status from activated to deactivated, and the other way round. ONLINE DOWNLOAD (PC PROGRAMMING ACCEPTANCE) [*][8][Master Code][3][4][#] This command allows the master user to manually trigger the upload/download process. The command is accepted only when the system is disarmed.
Notes: This command is similar to the one in the installer-dedicated programming section [34]. Within the PC programming (Upload/Download) denomination, there are several operations, which a programmer can perform when establishing a connection between a modem PC and the burglary alarm control panel. The following operations can be performed: uploading the control panel parameters into EZcom C61 ; 1. 2. downloading the control panel parameters from EZcom C61 into the control panel; uploading the Event Log from the control panel into the EZcom C61 (in a file). system date and time programming by EZcom C61 ; Arming/Disarming by EZcom C61 . zone bypassing by EZcom C61 ;

mono-stable/bi-stable PGM outputs activation/deactivation by EZcom C61 . Remark: CERBER C61 control panel provides 2 communication methods to the PC: The control panel answers automatically to the upload/download calls (this option can be programmed or not). The control panel doesn't answer automatically to upload/download calls. By means of a special command accessible to the master user, the control panel can communicate to the PC already calling it (the master user commands the control panel manually to answer upload/download calls). When the [*][8][Master Code][3][4][#] command is entered, the control panel will try to establish a communication with the modem, which should already be on the phone line (which should be calling the control panel the moment of entering the command). By this command, the control panel will answer the PC upload/download calls and will start to communicate to the latter. Note: ONLINE Download function is used when the "answers to up/download calls" function is not enabled and control panel programming by PC is still required (see section [10] - OPTIONSD, zone 3 LED). 1) 2)

CANCELING THE VOICE COMMUNICATION AND THE UPLOAD/DOWNLOAD PROCESS [*][8][Master Code][3][5][#] This command allows the master user to stop the voice communication and the upload/download process without stopping the digital communication between the control panel and the central station.
Note: This command is the same as the one described in the programming section [35], which is dedicated to the installer.

The command will be accepted only if the system is disarmed.

Notes: 1. The master user only may stop voice transmission. 2. When an alarm occurs, entering a user code or a master code will only stop the siren and disarm the system, without canceling the voice message dialing. 3. In order to stop the voice message dialing, in case the alarm triggers and the voice dialer starts communication, first disarm the system by a valid user code (or stop the siren), then enter the sequence: [*][8][Master Code][3][5][#].

KEYPAD SPECIAL ALARMS Depending on the installer programming, CERBER C61 control panel will send a reporting code to the central station (and/or a phone voice message), according to the occurrence of one of the next events: Panic, Fire, and Medical Emergency. These events occur by activating the correspondingly 24h defined zones, or by simultaneously pressing a combination of keys from keypad: [1] + [3] [7] + [9] [4] + [6] [*] + [#] Medical Emergency alarm Fire alarm Auxiliary panic alarm Panic alarm

In order to stop any alarm status, enter [#] key followed by any 4 or 6-digit user code from 1 to 15.
Note: The keypad panic alarm ([*] + [#]) should be used in emergency situations, when the user is threatened and the possible offender must not be notified about sending the respective message. In this case, the keypad panic alarm should be programmed of the silence type (see section [09] set OPTIONSC, zone 5 LED).

5. PROGRAMMING OF THE SYSTEM PARAMETERS

Use the command [*][8][Installers Code] to enter the programming mode of system parameters (the main programming menu), only when the system is disarmed. 1.1 Set that zone type by entering a 2-digit group, according to the table bellow. The zone type previously programmed can be maintained by pressing [#] key.
ZONE TYPES: [0 0] Not used zone [0 1] Delayed (entry/exit) zone A delayed zone is usually used for entry/exit doors. The exit timing starts when the system is armed. The zone may be violated during the timing without causing an alarm. After the exit time expired, opening the zone will start the entry-timing counter. During the entry time, the keypad buzzer will sound continuously indicating the system needs to be disarmed. If the system is disarmed before the entry time expired, no alarm will be generated. Entry and exit timings may be independently programmed from 1 to 255 seconds within section [12]. The default settings are 60 seconds for the exit time, and 30 seconds for the entry time. The follower zones are generally used for the interior motion detectors and follow the system programmed exit time. If you enter the protected area through a delayed zone, the follower zone will also consider the entry timing. If you enter the protected area through a follower zone without previously passing by a delayed zone, an alarm will be generated. Instant zones are usually used for the detectors that are not situated within the entry/exit area. The instant zones are not active during the exit time but they will generate the alarm as soon as they were violated after the exit time expired. The 24-hour zones are permanently active irrespective of the system armed/disarmed status (an alarm will be generated even if the system is disarmed). This zone type is useful for the connection of glass-break detectors. The sabotage (tamper) zones are permanently active irrespective of the system armed/disarmed status (an alarm will be generated even if the system is disarmed). This zone type is useful for the connection of tamper contacts in the system to prevent any sabotage attempt after the system installation and commissioning. The panic zones are permanently active irrespective of the system armed/disarmed status (a panic alarm will be generated even if the system is disarmed). This zone type is useful for the connection of panic buttons/pedals for a specific event to occur in emergency situations that could be also transmitted to a central station. The Fire zones are permanently active irrespective of the system armed/disarmed status (a fire alarm will be generated even if the system is disarmed). This zone type is useful for the connection of smoke detectors. The acoustic warning in case of zone enabling is in pulse irrespective of the respective parameter programming, being the first in order of priority over the other alarm types. The medical emergency zones are permanently active irrespective of the system armed/disarmed status (a medical emergency alarm will be generated even if the system is disarmed). This zone type is useful for the connection of panic buttons/pedals for a specific event to occur in emergency situations that could be also transmitted to a central station. Each time this zone type is enabled, the system will be armed/disarmed as regards to its previous armed/disarmed status. Any violation of this zone type will make the siren sound for 0.5s if the system is armed, and no alarm will occur. REMARKS:

Set 1 of attributes can be maintained as it was previously programmed, by pressing [#] key. 1.2 In order to modify set 1 of attributes press the numeric key, which corresponds to each zone LED. The respective parameter will be enabled/disabled by the corresponding LEDs turning ON/OFF, according to what follows. After setting the parameters to the required values, press [#] key to confirm. ATTRIBUTES1 set:
Zone LEDs Zone 1 LED ON Audible alarm (with activated siren) Steady siren OFF Silent alarm (without audible siren) Pulsing siren Remarks The alarm triggered by an audible zone occurs with siren activating, while the alarm triggered by a silent zone occurs without siren activating. The zone with steady siren will make the steady siren output enable for a time lapse set in section [13], while the pulsing siren zone will make the pulsing siren output enable for the same time lapse set in section [13]. A zone having the bypass attribute enabled will allow being bypassed by one of the commands: [*][3][Use code] or [BYPASS][User Code]. If attribute swinger shutdown is enabled it is counting the restorations of a zone that triggered the alarm during one arming period (or during one disarming period for 24h zones). In case the number of restorations gets to 3, the respective zone will be bypassed by the system. Thus, a zone having the swinger shutdown attribute enabled will trigger, during one arming (or one disarming for 24h zones): at most 3 alarms if violated zone restoration was programmed to occur when the zone closes; at most 3 siren time re-triggers (there may be more than 3 alarms), if violated zone restoration was programmed to occur when the alarm time expires.

NOTES: 1. ! = the value set by programming for the respective attribute is available for the corresponding zone type 2. - = the value set by programming for the respective attribute is not considered for the respective zone types, although programmed as active. Remarks: 1. The system will not automatically bypass the active 24h fire, tamper, panic and medical emergency zones in case of Stay arming or Instant Stay Arming even though STAY attribute is programmed as active. These zone types do not activate the chime either, even though chime attribute is programmed as active. These zones will trigger the alarm if violated when the system is disarmed. 2. 3. 4. As the Pre-warning type zone does not trigger alarms, only attributes of Forced arming, bypass/no bypass and chime type are considered for a zone of this type. As openinga Key-switch type zone makes the system arm/disarm, only attributes of Forced arming and bypass/no bypass type are considered for a zone of this type. If a zone is programmed as Fire, then the alarm triggered by this type of zone will only be of the audible and pulsing type, so these two attributes are not considered for a Fire zone.

Note: The programmed default options are marked with *. In order to activate/deactivate any of these options, press one of the keys from 1 to 6. The corresponding LED will turn ON/OFF. After selecting this option set, press [#] key. The keypad buzzer will sound 6 beeps and exit the section, awaiting a new command to enter another section. To exit the programming menu, press [#] key again. 1. The restoration of any zone that triggered the alarm is an event to be memorized in the 480-event LOG D or transmitted to the central station see section [10], set of OPTIONS , and section [27].

2. The programmed value of the restoration parameter for zones that triggered the alarm is the same for all zones. According to option selection, the restoration event for each zone is recorded when closing each zone or the alarm time expired. 3.1 If one chooses any violated zone restoration to occur when closing the zone, then a zone having the attribute swinger shutdown enabled will trigger at least 3 alarms during one arming (or during one disarming for 24h zones), even though they occur during bell cut-off time or that zone made the siren sound for 3 times. 3.2 If zone 3 LED stays ON after the set of OPTIONS was programmed, then any violated zone restoration will occur after the alarm time expired, as follows: 3.2.1 If the zone is an audible one, then, any of its first violations will make the siren sound and the alarm time trigger again. If a zone that made the alarm sound once closes and opens for several times during siren activation period, then that zone will keep recording alarms in the first 9 alarm memory, and in the 480 event LOG as well. All the same, each time that zone gets violated, it will send the respective alarm code (message) to the central station (to the voice dialer), without making the siren time last any longer. If another audible zone gets violated during the siren activation period, then the alarm time re-trigger will occur again. When the siren stops sounding, a restoration code for the closed zones that triggered alarms will be sent. If an open zone keeps being open, but closes after the siren stopped, a restoration code will be sent when the zone closes.
B

In case one chooses any violated zone restoration to occur when the alarm time expired, then a zone having the attribute swinger shutdown enabled will make at least 3 alarms sound during one arming (or during one disarming for 24h zones) the control panel will automatically bypass a zone having the attribute swinger shutdown enabled during that arming/disarming (for 24h zones, only if they make the siren sound for 3 times, being able to trigger more than 3 alarms during the siren activation period. 3.2.2 If a silent zone triggers the alarm while siren deactivated, a restoration code will be recorded (transmitted) when the zone closes. If the silent zone triggers the alarm while the siren is sounding due to the violation of another audible zone, then a restoration code will be transmitted for the silent zone as well, as in the case of audible zones.

3.3 If a violated zone stays open after triggering the alarm in the armed system status, then that zone restoration will occur when disarming. If a 24h zone violated during the disarmed status of the system stays open after triggering the alarm, the restoration of that zone will occur when the siren stops sounding, by means of a user code or when the zone closes.

Remark: A voice dialing sequence consists of sending the voice message (or the synthesis sounds) once to each of the programmed phone numbers (Up to 4 phone numbers as the control panel allows programming maximum 4 phone numbers for voice dialing - see Operating, Programming phone numbers for voice messages). After a voice dialing sequence was finished, the control panel will begin the next sequence similarly until the sequence number programmed in this section was over.

SECTION [21] CONFIGURATION OF THE VOICE MODULE MPV8 To configure the voice module operation, enter 2 digits (00 to 03), in the following sequence: |__|__| | 0 | 0 | by default After the 2 digits, 6 beeps will sound and the keypad will exit the section waiting for a new command. For the voice module to start voice transmission, the corresponding option in section [10] should be D programming activated (see set of OPTIONS , zone 2 LED), and at least one phone number for voice messages should be programmed (see phone number programming for voice messages, accessible to the master user by the commands |* 7|| master Code ||5X||Phone number_X| or [CODE][master Code] |5X|| Phone number_X |). The same conditions should be met for the event AC loss to start voice transmission (see section [10] E set of OPTIONSI , zone 2 LED). Additionally, for the voice module to answer the interrogation calls, the corresponding option in section D [10] should be programming activated (see set of OPTIONS , zone 4 LED). |0 0| = Deactivated voice module The system will transmit synthesis sounds on phone line for statuses: -ALARM bi-tonal sound, -AC loss low frequency hum, -DISARMED 1 beep -ARMED - 3 beeps. Note: this programming mode is used in case there is no voice module MPV8, and one wants to transmit or report synthesis sounds. |0 1| = Voice module configured for 2 voice messages of 20-seconds The system will transmit: -For ALARM, voice message no. 1 (section [41], [51]), -For AC loss, voice message no. 2 (section [42], [52]) and -Synthesis sounds for: -DISARMED (1 beep), -ARMED (3 beeps). |0 2| = Voice module configured for 4 voice messages of10-seconds The system will transmit: -For ALARM, voice message no. 1 (section [41], [51] -For AC loss, voice message no. 2 (section [42], [52]), -For DISARMED, voice message no. 3 (section [43], [53]), -For ARMED, voice message no. 4 (section [44], [54]).
15.07.2002 33

|0 3| = Voice module configured for 8 voice messages of 5-seconds The system will transmit: -For BURGLARY ALARM, voice message no. 1 (section [41], [51]), -For AC loss, voice message no. 2 (section [42], [52]), -For DISARMED, voice message no. 3 (section [43], [53]), -For ARMED, voice message no. 4 (section [44], [54]), -For FIRE ALARM, voice message no. 5 (section [45], [55]), -For PANIC, voice message no. 6 (section [46], [56]), -For TAMPER, voice message no. 7 (section [47], [57]), -For MEDICAL EMERGENCY, voice message no. 8 (section [48], [58]).
Notes: 1. 2. 3. 4. Upon each change of the voice module configuration type, messages must be recorded again, but when deactivating the voice module. Before the message that started dialing, the control panel will always transmit the message for ARMED or DISARMED, according to the system state armed or disarmed the moment of message transmission. it system status changes while message transmitting (it arms or disarms), then the message corresponding to system status change will be transmitted along with the same call. If a 2nd message of voice dialing initialization event occurs while transmitting another message, the system will take the subsequently appeared message in, and continue the dialing sequence until the last programmed number, then it will restart the whole dialing sequence from the first to the last programmed phone number as many times as described in section [20]. The message for ARMED or DISARMED will be transmitted along with the taken in messages. If several messages appear simultaneously in case of the 8-message configuration, then their displaying order is: first the message for system status ARMED or DISARMED, followed by the event messages, in the next sequence: FIRE, PANIC, TAMPER, MEDICAL EMERGENCY, BURGLARY, AC loss. If several messages appear simultaneously in case of the 4 or 2-message configuration, then their displaying order is: ARMED or DISARMED, followed by the event messages, in the next sequence: BURGLARY, AC loss. Upon status interrogation, after calling the control panel according to the settings performed in sections [10] and [18], the control panel will thus report: ARMED/DISARMED + A SUM OF POSSIBLE ALARMS + AC loss, the sum of possible alarms being reported until a new arming or disarming, each time the control panel is interrogated. The message for AC loss is reported only if this event does exist when interrogating. The voice messages recorded by you must not be the same with the above ones. You could record: The address and armed status instead of the message for arming/disarming. -

WARNING LIMITATIONS OF ALARM SYSTEMS

Although this is an advanced design security system, it does not offer guarantees warning not protection against burglary, fire or other emergency. Any alarm system, whether commercial or residential, is subject to compromise or failure to warn for a variety of reasons. For example: Intruders may gain access through unprotected openings or have the technical sophistication to bypass an alarm sensor or disconnect an alarm-warning device. Intrusion detectors (i.e. passive infrared detectors), smoke detectors, any other sensing devices will not work without power. Battery operated devices will not work without batteries, with dead batteries or if the batteries are not properly put in. Devices powered solely by AC will not work if their AC power supply is cut-off for any reason, even for a short period of time. a user may not be able to reach a panic or emergency button quickly enough. Smoke detectors may not activate or provide early warning for a variety of reasons. Some of the reasons why smoke detectors used in conjunction with this system may not work are as follows> Smoke detectors may have been improperly installed and positioned. Smoke detectors may not sense fires that start where smoke cannot reach the detectors, such as chimneys, in walls, or roofs, or on the other side of closed doors. Smoke detectors may not sense a fire on another level of a residence or building. A second floor detector, for example, may not sense a first floor or basement fire. Moreover, smoke detectors have sensing limitations. No smoke detector can sense every kind of fire every time. In general, detectors may not always warn about fires caused by carelessness and safety hazards like smoking in bed, violent explosions, escaping gas, improper storage of flammable materials, overloaded electrical circuits, children playing with matches, or arson. Depending on the nature of the fire and/or the location of the smoke detectors, the detector, even if operating as anticipated, may not provide sufficient warning to allow all occupants to escape in time to prevent injury or death. Passive Infrared Motion Detectors can only detect intrusion within the designed ranges as diagrammed in their installation manual. Passive Infrared Detectors do not provide volumetric area protection. They do not create multiple beams of protection, and intrusion can only be detected in unobstructed areas covered by the beams. They cannot detect motion or intrusion that takes place behind walls, ceiling, floors, closed doors, glass partitions, glass doors or windows. Mechanical tampering, masking, painting, or spraying of any material on the mirrors, windows or any part of the optical system can reduce detection ability. Alarm warning devices such as sirens, bells or horns may not alert people or wake up sleepers who are located on the other side of closed doors. If the warning devices sound on a different level of the residence from the bedrooms, then they are less likely to waken or alert people inside the bedrooms. Even persons who are awake may not hear the warning if the alarm is muffled by noise from a stereo, radio, air conditioner or other appliances, or by passing traffic. Finally, alarm warning devices, however loud, may not warn hearing-impaired people or waken deep sleepers. Telephone lines needed to transmit alarm signals from premises to a central monitoring station may be out of service or temporarily out of service. Telephone lines are also subject to compromise by sophisticated intruders. even if the system responds to an emergency as intended, occupants may however have insufficient time to protect themselves from the emergency situation. In the case of a monitored alarm system, authorities may not respond appropriately. The most frequent cause of an alarm system not functioning when an intrusion or fire occurs is inadequate maintenance. This alarm system should be tested weekly to make sure that all sensors work properly.
