Students contribute in class discussions. Name and describe at least one habitat and its features. Create beginning of iBooks.

Students upload at least one image of a habitat to their iBooks. They can name it and describe some of its features.

* All four lessons are based on the difference habitats animals live in, and how animals are suited to their habitat. The lessons will focus on different aspects of the topic; however, during each lesson students will contributing to their own books on Book Creator. *

1. What is a habitat? 2. What habitats are around us? 3. Did you find any habitats on the QR codes that you did not know? 4. Did you see any animals in your habitat pictures?

Introduction Introduce subject Play habitat song. Ask key question 1. Ask key question 2. Discuss the different types of habitats Explain goal for end of 4 lessons. Show an example of a book created. Task Students use QR reader on iPads to scan QR codes on website. Students download or screen shot at least 4 images of different habitats. Students learn about their images/habitats by doing the habitats memory game. Children upload their habitats to their own book (book creator). Children either write or record (encourage writing) what that habitat is called, and some of its features. Lesson closing Class comes back together. Ask Key question 3. Ask key question 4. Play the place thats right for me game to show some animals in their habitats. Discuss. Teacher will explain next lesson: we will be adding animals to their habitats. So students can need to start thinking about what animals they would find in their habitat.
