ANNUAL FUNCTIONS

Through out the year a number of ceremonies are carried out at Dargah Sharif
with full devotion and enthusiasm. Thousands of devoted pilgrims are gathered
on these occasion and solve their long standing problems through the holy
merits of Hazrat Nizamuddin Aulia R.A. Following is the list of the Annual Urses of
great personalities being held on their corresponding dates at Dargah Hzt.

Beside these lots of other ceremonials are celebrated at Dargah
sharif in the full regards and devotion.

(1) GHUSUL SHARIF Annual bathing ceremony of the holy grave of

Hazrat Nizamuddin R.A. just before the time of his birth.

(2) EID-E-MILADUN-NABI: Ziarat Mu-e-mubarak wa Qadam Sharif i.e.

visualising the relics and foot impression over the stone Prophet Hzt.
Mohammed s.a.w. on the ocassion of Bara Wafat (Prophrt Hazrat
Mohammed's s.a.w. Day) ceremonial at Dargah Sharif

(3) SHAB-E-MERAJ,

(4) SHAB-E-BARAT

(5) SHAB-E-QADAR All three gifted and sacred nights are celebrated
with great enthusiasm and devotion. Thousands and thousands of the
followers rushes to attend these functions. During the sacred month of
Ramazan thousands of Derveshis, poor and destitute rush to Dargah
Sharif from far off places. The Dargah Sharif provides them with Sehri,
Iftari and Langar while the generous pilgrims distribute lots of alms and
cloths.

(6) BASANT: Dargah Hazrat Nizamuddin is the only place where Basant
is celebrated from the last 700 yrs. During this ceremony a procession
of the devotees wearing yellow cloths proceed to the graves of the
descendants and disciples of Harat Nizamuddin R.A. with Qawwal
singing devotional songs written by Hzt.Amir Khusro R.A.
