Its a third class municipality where the average of its people is living a normal life with which the most are yet developing. Most of its families survived their living thru farming, fishing, small business entrepreneurs, and a few are in the government service. Salug National High School produces its pioneering graduates way back 1969. For over years, it was named Salug Barangay High School, and in year 1988 it was finally converted into Salug National High School. Currently, it has one annex school, (Salug NHS Ramon Magsaysay Annex) and two feather schools, (Balakan and Bacong National High Schools). Salug National High School caters a peaceful environment to its students. Moreover, the friendly attitude of the teachers as well as the school administration enhances the schools friendly atmosphere and the harmonious relationship of its people within.

THE SCHOOL SITE Salug National High School is erected on a more or less 2 hectares land area which sufficiently accommodates more than a thousand students and more than half a hundred teaching force. It is a mountainous area surrounded with tropical and coconut trees, overlooking the national highway. As the school continues to soar high, it is herein presented the School Development Plan of the school site. PARENTAL INVOLVEMENT One of the vital factors that keep Salug National High School moving, is its parents, thus School Improvement Plan doesnt remain a plan. Salug National High School is fortunate enough, having its very active parents, led by no less than its officers of the Parents-Teachers Association. To view the real score, its not only the parents moral support which is being enjoyed by the school, but likewise the financial. The parents homeroom organizations in every classroom are generous enough to respond their respective needs of their classrooms. Classroom improvement like chair repairs, wall paintings, classroom fixtures and furniture are well supported by parents. They are even positive on the technological needs of the classrooms for they are willing to give their voluntary contributions for purchase of television sets and CD players to enhance the classroom instruction. Moreover, when students are sent to Science camps, Math camps, Boy and Girl Scout activities and school related activities somewhere in Dipolog, Zamboanga, or anywhere in the country, the parents are willing to send their children at their personal expense.
