: A REPORT ON THE ADVANTAGES AND DISADVANTAGES OR PROBLEM CAUSED BY MOBILE PHONE PROPOSAL ON AND RECOMMENDATIONS

I would like to bring your attention to the advantages and disadvantages or problems caused by the using of mobile phone to the staffs in our institute. Then, followed by the actions and recommendations suggested. For your information, I did a few things after I received many complaints and report from our staff on the problem they faced in using the mobile phone. For the quick actions that I have done is by asking or interview a few staffs on the matter. Besides that I also searched some information from the internet about mobile phone and its impact on health and social being of the staff. After ran with the survey, discussion, interview and searching, I can make a conclusion that it needs our immediate actions as soon as possible to overcome this matter. In this report and based on my findings, I would discuss about then disadvantages or problem caused in mobile phone which focused on health problem, mobile addiction, social problem and instigate wastage of money. Then, I also discuss a few actions and

The most important advantage of mobile phone is it can be used almost everywhere without using cables or electricity. As we know, mobile phone is the easiest way to stay connected and keep in touch with family and friends. #o, it becomes the most popular communication method among the people. For instance, we can contact our family or friends whenever we want and wherever they are $ust by calling or sending the messages easily. Then, mobile phone can be the best %rescue" when we are in the emergency situation. For e&ample, when the car broke down while we are driving or lost our directions, the mobile phone comes to be useful and the best" rescue" on that time. #ame with the situation when we were involved in the road accident or became the witness of the accident, the quick way that we must do is by calling the police or family by using our mobile phone. These days, one of the most common means of communication is using the #hort 'essage #ervice (#'#). 'obile phone is including this system as it is one way to communicate with family or friends cheaper than by calling them. As a result, we can save a lot of money as #'# is much cheaper and easier. Besides that, recent development in the mobile phone industry created a lot of technologically updated gadgets that can make our lives easier than ever. Then, it showed us that nowadays one of the developments of communication technology in the world is mobile phone. 'obile phone nowadays is not limited $ust for calling and sending #'# but is now capable of surfing the internet, chatting with other people at a low cost, taking the pictures or recording the sweet moment in our life. That"s why, most people are addicted and can be said cannot live without mobile phone as there are many applications on it.

The other advantage of mobile phone is helping the business people or office work too. These days, the latest mobile phone was applied with several of software such as 'icrosoft *ffice which is very useful in term for viewing or editing any files. It includes the application on 'icrosoft +ord, ,-F, .&cel, ,hotoshop and others. ere, mobile phone applications really help the business people especially to increase their sales, marketing or available to promote the products or services in local or international market. +hile for the customers it is easy for them to access the program through mobile phone $ust with a few clicks of a button, then, they can get any information available on the certain products or services.

Based on my research, the people who are using too much mobile phone can get higher probability to have diseases or bad effects such as cancer, di//y, blood brain barrier, skin radiation and ear problems. 'obile phone use and get radiofrequency signal, a form of non0ioni/ing electromagnetic radiation that can harm the person"s brain. Besides that, one of the reasons on road accident is caused by using mobile phone while driving. The people are not focused on the road when they are talking or use the mobile phone while driving. Then, the other problem caused by mobile phones is addictiveness. Too much talking or using the application in mobile phone sometimes can make people cannot live without mobile phone even for a minute. In this report, I would discuss more details based on four problems that identified. There are health problems, mobile addiction, social problem and the wastage of money. Based on the problems in relation to the matter, I also propose and suggest some actions and recommendations to be taken and hopefully the problems can be solving immediately. Therefore, during the meeting of the board of -irectors" which is schedule on 12th 3uly 1456, I really hope this matter will come to highlight in the meeting and the actions or any recommendations suggested will improve the safety and health among the staff in the institute. Based on the report, the immediate action taken by the board of -irectors could bring the changes on the institute policy of using the mobile phone.

For more details on the problem caused of mobile phone, I will discuss them below. From my survey, observation and searching, it shows that the disadvantages is outweigh on mobile phone usage. ere are the problems identified7

The mobile phone will receive and transmit radio frequency signals which are similar to radiation given off a microwave. Then, from my finding in the internet, the researchers also linked that mobile phone usage also effect the male infertility and to the Al/heimer"s people. By the way, the amount of radiofrequency energy in the mobile phone user is e&posed and depends on the upgraded technology of it which is the distance between the phone"s antenna and the user, the e&tent and also the type of use and the user"s distance from the mobile phone towers. +hen discuss about radiofrequency energy in the mobile phone, it is actually a form of electromagnetic radiation that can be categori/ed into ioni/ing and non0 ioni/ing. 8adiofrequency e&posure from the mobile phone use does cause heating as when we use the mobile phone in around 94 minutes, the brain tissue on the same side of the head as the phone"s antenna metaboli/ed more glucose than did tissues on the opposite side of the brain. According to the survey that I did, the health problem caused of mobile phone is proven with three staffs suffered from skin radiation and ears problem. *ne of them was admitted to hospital for a week and now still continues with specialist medical checkup. +hile the others two

has recovered but still taken the antibiotic. Then, from the three staff statements, the doctor was proved that it was caused by talking too much via mobile phone.

A,(.0)<) 1, M15<.+ A::<27<1, *ne of the problems in term of mobile phone is the addictiveness. 'ostly of our staffs either in the ages of 14"s : 64"s or in 24"s : 94"s are addicted to mobile phone. This is a usual scenario as we can see most of them carry their mobile phone everywhere in the institute. From the interview, ;4< of them said cannot live without mobile phone. Then, they also willing to go back home whenever they left their mobile phone. Institute policy was stated in the rules that we cannot use the mobile phone while working especially to the staffs that manage the machines, meeting and morning assembly. But, unfortunately, most of our staffs use the mobile phone while working. A few weeks ago, two staffs were caught while playing games in mobile phone when they were in charge the heavy machine at the food department. A,(.0)<) 1, S12<(. P915.+' 'obile phone also caused the social problem among the staffs in the institute. 'any of them who are using mobile phone especially the addicted ones prefer to communicate or hang out with the application in mobile phone compares to chat with others face to face. This is why sometime the misunderstanding will happen among them and they can be isolated from their society. From the survey, some of the staffs in the institute did not know each other unless they are in the same department. .ven in the recess time too, most of them prefer to keep in touch in mobile phone application such as online games, listen to mp6 or mp2 players, using high resolution phone camera, download movie or =ouTube and many more which are the main attraction of the users especially the young staff in our institute.

From the observations and interview among the staffs in the institute, mobile phone also can cause on wasteful of money. 'ost of them prefer to spend their money around 8'144 per month for mobile phone. It includes the payment of high bills when they spend much time talking unnecessarily on phone. Besides, they also did not care to spend money to buy online games, top up the prepaid, changing the phone cover and even bought two or more mobile phone as the collections.

Then, we can refer to the Information Technology -epartment in the institute to block the certain website or social network like Facebook, Twitter, 'y#pace, Friendster, online games and others during the office hours time.

It can help them being social and know each other by having these activities.

'ost of them agreed that mobile phone is one of the most important things in their life as they can keep in touch and

communicate to their family and friends no matter where they are. *n the other hand, there were much benefit from the mobile phone indeed. >sing the mobile phone can help us in working more efficiently and faster. By the way we should not forget of the problem caused in the mobile phone. Therefore, we should limit the usage or the frequency of use in our daily life. Besides, it is wise to control its" usage to avoid the problem caused.
