Actual Case
Mr Prasad is at very good position in a company.ch is called SEB i.e. State Electricity Board. Mr Prasad is considered as a SOFT person in an organisation, because of which workmen and other staff started taking advantage of his SOFT quality. Which was exactly opposite of organisations rules and regulations. Mr Kumar joined new in company. A new talented man who saw all these problems which were practiced in an organisation. Mr Kumar always tried to insist Mr Prasad to take disciplinary action against these workers. One Day Mr Prasad and Mr Kumar were traveling on a long distance for some official duty. Mr Kumar saw that one of their drivers was stopping at the point and picking up passengers in his truck for the sake of money. Mr kumar yelled hes picking up passengers from the roadside and taking money from them Mr Prasad also noticed the same thing. Mr Kumar shouted Stop the car we have to catch that driver red handed. Mr Prasad said A long time that Balwant uses his truck to make a little money on side Mr kumar explained yes this against the rules but think analytically what harm balwant is causing to the Board. Nothing. This is almost impossible to take care of six people in just 2500 monthly. theres nothing wrong to make some

extra money to support family in these days. Consider yourself at the place of balwant. What will happen if I take strict action? Nothing. He will only stop his practices or he will be permanently get terminated from his services. But think once again by humanityies point of view. Management should not be found only on values, but it should also consider humanity, tolerance, compassion and sympathy.

Overview
Mr Prasad chief engineer of State electricity Board is very soft and considerate towards his employees. Hi works in a govt. controlled SEB which is highly bureaucratic in operation Mr Prasad believes that salaries paid to junior employees such as drivers in this case are too low and he can hardly do anything to raise them Therefore he ignores the case where his employees are involved in earning some extra money through wrong means. Mr Kumar is a young engineer and believes in absolute no-nonsense and cannot tolerate any irregularities. On one occasion balwant was found taking money from passengers on a return empty trip of truck Both Mr Prasad and Mr Kumar saw him. Kumar insists on their action.es Kumar to ignore and believe as if they had not seen what was going on.

Solutions
1] Do you believe Mr Prasad is correct at his belief? Poor Prasad is trapped in a govt. bureaucratic system which is totally corrupt. In addition he, though very nice and kind and very weak person. Neither SEB expects him to do anything nor is he competent enough to remove corruption from the system. Therefore hi cannot afford to be strict with these people. 2] What kind of value system Mr Prasad is trying to build in his board? Mr Prasad is trying to let the rotten system in SEB continue and grow. Although he is not an active party to the process, but due to his weak personality and value system he is promoting corruption in the system. 3] Do you think it is really unethical to break the rules? Yes it is totally unethical to break the rules. If the rules are wrong and one believes so one should challenge the rules in the court of law

4] What would you have done had you been Mr Prasads place? In Mr Kumars place? Firstly i would not have been at Mr Prasads place. And if i were engineer who had joined the SEB as asst. engnr. I would have been very straight and strict from day 0ne. in that case with patience and perservance, io would have changed SEB culture. Or i would have given up the job or been thrown out of the system and pursued my career elsewhere. In Mr Kumars place having failed to persuade Mr Prasad i would have informed about such practices to the vigilance department and if possible to CBI

Conclusion
Management should be properly based on professionalism instead tolerating any kind of non-sense. What we saw in the case was totally unprofessionalism and incompetence of current chief engineer to handle the situation. Chief should be properly managed to handle these kinds of situations. That is the only way to handle management there should be proper professionalism while conducting any kind of duties.
