atural catastrophes have a global influence on our world, however each individual react in his own way. In Asia, tsunami left behind horror, pain, and sufferer. In contrary to those awful results, see water outpour is powerful, dangerous, and beautiful. he contrast between the strength of nature, and what is left behind; the difference between a global interpretation of suffering, and the pain each person feel while is alone; the juxtaposition between the beauty of an action, and the ugliness of what is left: those are the element Allisa analyze to develop her collection. nce upon a time there was a beautiful girl, and her name was Greece. The wind was soft on her blond hair, like the corn in summer; the blue sea could see itself inside her innocent eyes; her skin was soft and smelled of laurel. She used to run into nature with Artemis, wearing leather sandals. During that time she was happy. he was so beautiful and full of joy that Turkey noticed her. He turned her into his lover, and he forced her to wear fancy dress and shoes made out of brocade. She was captive and she could no longer run on the sand. hen she finally managed to escape, she was seduced by Italy that covered her with clothes

and shoes in red, white and green colors. Their story didnt ended well. The weak Italy was put apart by Germany. ermany was a rude and tough conquer, who forced the miserable girl to wear calfskin boots. Somehow Greece managed to escape, but she was tired. he wounds were just closed, and they left visible scars on her once beautiful skin, when she has to affront other troubles: the economic crisis. She is facing it with courage, hoping in a cleaner and transparent action by politicians. his is the story behind the shoes collection designed by Stathis Samantas.

reece is one of the first countries that tasted the experience of globalization with an unorthodox and hard way: through wars. The war contains somehow the notion of globalization and purpose of the conqueror. It is the expansion of its own cultural characteristics and the assimilation or mixing with the features of the conquered. Although nowadays globalization is imposed not with the traditional concept of war as we used to know it, but with economic war, and our effort is to keep clear all aspects of our individuality. How? By filtering the data of everyday life through the web of history.

rancesca has been working on the concept of double side for a while, and the duality of globalization and individuality was a variety on the theme of juxtaposition. She was fascinated about how different ethnic groups develop similar, but at the same time different, solution to the same problem. About the different interpretation of what is exotic if you live in America or in Asia. About the cultural history substrate that, layer after layer, makes the personality of a country. About the meaning of colors and their interpretation and combination and meaning. rancesca mixed bright and powder colors; she combined fabrics; she played with details to investigate more about her double side, and to find another way to express herself by keeping at the same time her own style.

very city has its own rush hour, from America to Asia, our society has an obsession with speed and instant things: a constant marathon with time. During the morning rush hour you see career-driven individuals with coffee-filled paper cups in one hand, and a smart phone in the other. People have suddenly become so busy that they have forgotten the beauty of sitting down on meals. his is the scenario that Marie develops, playing around with busy people, food and fashion under the lens of irony and satire. Cups, fork and knife, and bib are the elements of her brooch and pendant and black as a dominant color denotes a corporate overall image.

hen European culture meets Chinese culture, inspiration is on the air. Tom Gbels got inspire by the (four treasure of study). In the ancient Chinese culture the four treasure of study refers to the tools a good student should always have on his desk: brush, paper, ink, and ink stone. om worked on this concept for his men and women collection that was featured at 798 art district, Beijing, and he won the third prize at Changshu cup contest. Clothes cuts are simple and straight; the main colors are black and white in wool and silk fabrics. ne feature of this collection is the felt fabric printed like a square grid in red, exactly like the support on which students place paper and train themselves to learn calligraphy.
