Chisinau is the capital of Moldova.

It is the largest city of the country and its political, administrative, economical and cultural centre. Chisinau is situated in the centre of the republic on the river Bic. The city lies on seven hills and occupies the territory of around 120 sq. km. In Chisinau there are 23 lakes which are mostly situated in the parks. The capital of Moldova is considered to be one of the greenest cities in Europe. There are many parks in the city and the trees grow on almost every street. Nowadays the population of Chisinau is more than 700 000 inhabitants. Chisinau is divided into 5 sectors: Centru, Riscani, Botanica, Ciocana and Buiucani. Chisinau is connected to other localities in Moldova and also to other countries. The connection with other localities is accomplished mostly by buses. My flat We have a nice flat in a new block of flats. Our flat is on the thirteen floor. It has all modern conveniences: central heating, gas, electricity, cold and hot water, a lift . There are three rooms, a kitchen, a bathroom and a hall in our flat. The living-room is the largest and most comfortable room in the flat. In the middle of the room we have a square-table with six chairs round it. To the right of the dinner-table there is a wall-unit which has several sections: a sideboard, a wardrobe. Between the two large windows there is a little table with a colour TV set on it. The bedroom is smaller than the living-room and not so light as there is only one window in it. In this room there are one bed with a bedside-table. An alarm-clock and a small lamp with a pink lamp-shade are on the table. My home is my castle I think, every person always dreams about a place where he can speak about his problems, chat with close friends, where he can feel happy and quiet. For me it is my family and my home. It is the best place in the world and my dearest people live here.

Shopping/Supermarket When we want to buy something, we go to a shop. There are many kinds of shops in every town or city, but most of them have a food supermarket, men's and women's clothing stores, grocery, a bakery and a butchery. I like to do my shopping at big supermarkets. They sell various goods under one roof and this is very convenient. You can buy everything you like there. There are also escalators in big stores which take customers to different floors. The things for sale are on the counters so that they can be easily seen. In the women's clothing department you can find dresses, costumes, blouses, skirts, coats, beautiful underwear and many other things. In the men's clothing department you can choose suits, trousers, overcoats, ties, etc. In a food supermarket we can also buy many different things at once: sausages, fish, sugar, macaroni, flour, cereals, tea. At the butcher's there is a wide choice of meat and poultry. Working in the field The year has four seasons: spring, summer, autumn and winter. With the arrival of spring begin bucrarile in chimp, vineyards, orchards, gardens. In this time of year farmers clean vineyard, fruit trees, country fields, planting trees, sow wheat, planting vegetables. etc.Summer deal with their care and harvesting some species of fruits and cerials. Autumn is the season of harvest grapes, apples, corn, etc. Item on the fields, gardens, farmers ready land for spring works. Season harvest and plenty came. With him, arrived and harvesting the fruits of field and garden. For me, the most beautiful farming this season is picking grapes. As every year and this year picking grapes will be a real feast.

ECOLOGY AND THE ENVIRONMENT The word environment means simply what is around us. Some people live in a town environment; for others, their environment is the countryside. Nowadays people understand how important it is to solve the environment problems that endanger peoples lives. The most serious environmental problems are: Pollution in its many forms (water pollution, air pollution, nuclear pollution) Noise from cars, buses, planes, etc. Destruction of wildlife and countryside beauty Shortage of natural resources (metals, different kinds of fuel) The growth of population Water Pollution. There is no ocean or sea, which is not used as a dump. Many seas are used for dumping industrial and nuclear waste. This poisons and kills fish and sea animals. Nuclear-poisoned fish can be eaten by people. Many rivers and lakes are poisoned too. Fish and reptiles cant live in them. There is not enough oxygen in the water. In such places all the birds leave their habitats and many plants die. If people drink this water they can die too. It happens so because factories produce a lot of waste and pour it into rivers. So they poison water. Air pollution. Most of the pollution in big cities comes from cars and buses. More and more often people are told not to be in direct sunlight, because ultraviolet radiation from the sun can cause skin cancer. Normally the ozone layer in the atmosphere protects us from such radiation, but if there are holes in the ozone layer ultraviolet radiation can get to the earth. Many scientists think that these holes are the result of air pollution. Nuclear power stations can go wrong and cause nuclear pollution. Both clean air and clean water are necessary for our health. If people want to survive they must solve these problems quickly. Man is beginning to understand that his environment is not just his own town or country, but the whole earth. Thats why people all over the world think and speak so much about ecology.

The most part of energetic resources is also imported. The process of energetic complex privatisation is presently taking place in the Republic of Moldova. The cultural heritage of Moldova is abundant with traditions and customs. there, many of them are centuries old. It is hard to believe that the multi-ethnic character of the country still exists within the popular traditions. MY NATIVE COUNTRY Moldova- my native country- is one with a great history, rich traditions and many beautiful places. Many people call it a horn of plenty. There are a lovely vineyards and orchards full of delicious grapes and fruits here. If even looks like a bunch of grapes on the map of the Europe. As a citizen of Moldova, I am very pround of the ancient Codrii. They keep a lot of secrets about the history of this sweet piece of land. The river Nistru can tell a lot of legends and tales about aour country and its people. The two medieval fortresses are on the river Nistru. Numerous monasteries are on the Raut and the Nistru rivers, in the midst of the woodsand other places of our beautiful country. There is one thing that makes Moldova special: it is the wells that are travelers best friendsthere is nothing better on a hot summer day than the crystal clear, cool and refreshing water of the wells. The people of Moldova are very special too. Kind, jolly, hard working and hospitable, they are also very artistic. I love my country, and if i think that we have to value the beautiful and mysterious places of this little piece of land. State Agrarian University of Moldova has a rich 75 years history when Agricultural Sciences Section from Iasi is transformed in University into the Faculty of Agricultural Sciences with its center in Chisinau.State Agrarian University of Moldova is located on the outskirts of the capital of Moldova - Chisinau , Petricani street. Existing ecological problems Since ancient times Nature has served Man, being the source of his life. For thousands of years people lived in harmony with environment and it seemed to them that natural riches were unlimited. But with the development of civilization man's interference in nature began to increase. Large cities with thousands of smoky industrial enterprises appear all over the world today. The by-products of their activity pollute the air we breathe, the water we drink, the land we grow grain and vegetables on. Every year world industry pollutes the atmosphere with about 1000 million tons of dust and other harmful substances. Many cities suffer from smog. Vast forests are cut and burn in fire. Their disappearance upsets the oxygen balance. As a result some rare species of animals, birds, fish and plants disappear forever, a number of rivers and lakes dry up. The most horrible ecological disaster befell Ukraine and its people after the Chernobyl tragedy in April 1986. About 18 percent of the territory of Byelarus were also polluted with radioactive substances. A great damage has been done to the agriculture, forests and people's health. The consequences of this explosion at the atomic powerstation are tragic for the Ukrainian, Byelarussian and other nations. Environmental protection is of a universal concern. That is v/hy serious measures to create a system of ecological security should be taken.

Seasons There are four major seasons in a year. These are Winter Spring Summer and Rainy season Autumn. Every season has its own merits and demerits. But there is no denying the fact that every season has a vital role to play in the cycle of Nature and every season is significant for all life forms on the earth. Like it is said that the importance of water is known only to those who have to stay thirsty for some time, similarly a season becomes enjoyable for us because it comes after a given period. For example, we all like the Spring season because it comes after Winter period. Even Nature is at her best in this season. Flowers of various kinds and colour begin to bloom covering the whole earth with variety of shades and adding to the beauty of Nature. Summer because it brings for them fruits, Winter for in beautiful frozen peisages, Autumn for rainy days and colourful nature. Every season has it beautiful.

THE ROLE OF THE FAMILY IN THE SOCIETY If somebody asks what the family means for me, my answer will be everything. O.Balsac, said that the family is the nucleus of the social cell, he wanted the family to be resorted, and protected. Speaking about the family values, I cannot mention some of them: first of all the family creates the future generations, its character, abilities. The family that keeps all the members together teachs them love, friedship and kindness. The family is also a complex unit of customs and traditions. They are inherited from parens to children and so on. Where all the members of a family trust each other, share their jois and sarrows- such family is a true unit of the society.

THE ROLE OF UNIVERSITY IN MY LIFE The university has an important role in my life as well as in the lifes of the teenagers like me, because there is given the most part of the necessary information to use it to become a professional specialists in a certain field. Anton Cehov said that the university shows all our abilities ,including our disabilities.and I cannot be agree with him because the university is nothing else but the place i become what I am and what i can do.it helps me even to descover abilities that I havent even thought that I posses them. Daily I met a lot of obstacles missunderstandings and difficulties but all these things taught me to think and to search till I woud find the solving of all the problems . not at last the university years taught me how to find ways to make good relations with people around me, how to understand and how to be understood. My working day Usually wake up at 6.am, then do some physical exercises. Actually I don't like it but if you have a health bogy,go in bath fo showe. After that, I make the breakfast for me and my sister. My brother likes bread with egg and coffee, but I love the butterbroads and tea. I don't like coffee. I go to study at 8.am. My university is far of my house. It's a nice place to...sleep but I must learn.. Interesting but sometime I feel fully stretched. At 3 I come back home for lunch. After university I usually go out with my friends, talking about something funny then I return home. Oh that's sweet time, relax with music, chat with some friend, update information in Internet. I always go to bed at 11:00.pm

My day off To my mind every day off needs some special planning. Time passes quickly and if you have no plans you can be sure to get no results, as you may spend your time on trifles. In general I'm for an active rest I like to go somewhere with my friends and to spend my free time in a good company. I hate staying at home at the weekend. While studying at univesity, I tried to do all my work right after the classes on Saturday, because I didn't want to remember about it during my weekend. Also I did something about the house like cleaning my room, placing books on the shelves which were piled up in different places and then I was free and could do everything I wished. I enjoyed my Saturday evenings most of all. I never knew about boredom even when I spent the evening on my own listening to music.
