Our team approach provides you with a built-in support system that will help you throughout your studies and as you embark on your career. Our united counseling program provides services and functions designed to enhance the student experience and promote success.
The Student Success Team was established to provide a positive, problem-solving process for identifying education options and providing career strategies, nancial advice and personal counseling resulting in a healthy social and academic learning environment.

The mission of your Success Team is to assist you in dening and carrying out an action plan to improve your academics, health, discipline, and career options.
The Student Success Team is composed of counselors from the Academic Advisement, Student Affairs, and Artist and Career Services ofces. Your team works within the school community to develop a solution-oriented approach that will enhance your academic experience and post-graduate success.

STATEMENT OF SUPPORT
The Student Affairs office is the heart of the MI student community, offering a multitude of services including counseling, budgeting, student discount tickets for local attractions, metro tickets and information about upcoming student events. Student Affairs Counselors act as resource managers to assist students with academic, financial or emotional issues, including access to on-site professional psychological counseling.

Financial counseling (budget planning, Hardship Scholarships, etc.). Assistance in resolving personal or academic difculties. On-campus student employment and Federal Work-Study placement.
Referrals to academic advising, tutoring, and psychological counseling. Transportation tips, schedules and reduced-fare Metro TAP card applications. Mixers and fun events for MI students. Guides to local entertainment, restaurants (some with MI discounts), parking, and discount tickets to AMC Movie Theaters, Universal Studios, Six Flags, Raging Waters, and more. Information on health insurance and doctors/ clinics nearby. Excused absence approvals & processing.
If you have taken out a student loan while attending MI, our Loan Repayment Counselor will provide personalized student loan guidance while you attend school as well as a customized analysis of your best loan repayment options after graduation. You are welcome to visit the Student Affairs Ofce at any time MondayFriday 8:30am-5:00pm to meet your counselor in person and explore the resources available to you.
The mission of the Artist and Career Services (ACS) Department is to provide guidance, support and resources to students and alumni as they develop their careers. Among a variety of services, ACS helps develop and carry out job search strategies, creates opportunities for industry exposure, and assists in developing promotional materials. The ACS staff provides general information, individualized career support, and networking opportunities to help you set and meet your career goals.

Students are welcome to visit the Artist and Career Services ofce at any time MondayFriday 9:00am5:00pm. Personal Career Guidance meetings are scheduled for you each quarter so your Artist and Career Services Advisor can properly track your progress and provide you with the proper support.

Be committed to removing nancial barriers for those who wish to pursue a music education. Make every effort to assist students with nancial need. Support students applying for educational funding and provide assistance with the electronic application process.
Educate students and families by providing quality consumer information and answering questions related to their nancial aid awards. Respect the dignity and protect the privacy of students, and ensure the condentiality of student records and personal circumstances. Provide services that do not discriminate on the basis of race, gender, ethnicity, sexual orientation, religion, disability, age, or economic status. Commit to the highest level of ethical behavior, including avoidance of any and all actual or perceived conict of interest. Provide veterans or their qualied dependents with quality support for the application of veterans benets.
The Financial Aid Ofce is open daily from 8:30am-5:00pm MondayFriday. The Application Coordinator is available to provide assistance with the electronic application process. Each student will be assigned a personal Financial Aid advisor who will answer questions related to their applications for student aid.
The Registrar Services/Academic Advising Office provides MI students with general information about programs and specific advice about course requirements and elective choices. Advisors work closely with students to develop academic plans that lead to successful program completion.

At least one to two quarters prior to their intended graduation, students are strongly encouraged to meet with an Academic Advisor for a Program Evaluation to conrm that they are on track for program completion. Students are welcome to visit the Registrar Services Ofce any time MondayFriday 9:00am-4:45pm. Please stop by and meet your advisor in person to explore the resources available to you.
