MARTINSBURG, W.Va. University Health-
care and the WVU Robert C. Byrd Health Sci-
ences Center Eastern Division will sponsor a
community mini-medical school program on
Peripheral Artery Disease (PAD).
Te seminar will be held on Tuesday, Feb-
ruary 18 at 7 pm in the WVU Robert C. Byrd
Health Sciences Center on the Berkeley Medi-
cal Center campus.
Te guest speaker is Farrukh Jalisi, MD, a
cardiologist with University Cardiovascular
Associates in Martinsburg. Dr. Jalisi serves as
director of the cath lab and co-director of car-
diology at Berkeley Medical Center. He
is also an assistant professor on faculty at
the WVU School of Medicine.
PAD is a common circulatory problem
in which narrowed arteries reduce blood
fow to the limbs. Te mini-medical
school program will focus on the causes,
symptoms and treatment options avail-
able.
Registration begins at 6:30 pm with the
program to follow from 7 8 pm. Light
refreshments will be ofered at the con-
clusion of the seminar.
Tis community mini-medical school
program is being ofered free to the pub-
lic as a community service of University
Healthcare and the WVU Health Scienc-
es Center Eastern Division. Reservations
